Five studies done in several provinces showed the same unsettling results.

But a new study suggests the findings were real.
Skowronski and a group of researchers have recreated the event in ferrets. Their findings were presented Sun-day at the Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, a major international infectious diseases conference taking place in San Francisco.
Skowronski, who outlined the work at a webcast press conference, worked with 32 ferrets, giving half the 2008 seasonal flu shot and the rest a placebo injection. The work was blinded, meaning the researchers didn't know which ferrets received which shot. Later, all the ferrets were infected with the pandemic H1N1 virus.The ferrets in the vaccine group became significantly sicker than the other animals, though all recovered.

(NaturalNews) I'm always amused by the purchasing process of electronics or appliances at big box stores. On one hand, as their sales associate calmly explains to you, whatever product you're buying is such high quality that you'll be extremely satisfied with your purchase. But on the other hand, it's also such a complete piece of junk that you'd be smart to add on a two-year extended warranty so that when the gizmo breaks five seconds after you open the box, you can get a replacement for free.
The CDC and the vaccine industry are fronting a similar bit of contradictory logic. "Our vaccines work so well that they offer almost total immunity from the flu," they claim. And yet somehow they also work so poorly that they "wear off" after a year and require you to be re-vaccinated annually.
This is The Great Big Lie of the vaccine industry: The lie that says you have be re-vaccinated each and every year, often with the exact same strains you were vaccinated with the previous year. The coming winter flu vaccines for 2011, for example, are being manufactured with the same strains as the 2010 flu vaccines.
But if vaccines work so amazingly well as the CDC and the vaccine industry (fraudulently) suggests, then why do you need the same shot year after year?
Well, according to the CDC, "Vaccines wear off."

Yep, that's their cover story. The vaccines "wear off."
But hold on a minute. There's something fishy about this. Because human antibodies normally last a lifetime, remember? That's why you don't get the chicken pox over and over again; because the first time you got the chicken pox as a kid, your body created chicken pox antibodies and those antibodies last a lifetime.
Thus, your immune system offers you lifetime immunity from the chicken pox.
The vaccine industry false tries to claim its vaccines work exactly the same way: They cause the body to produce antibodies against a certain viral strain. But there's something you're not being told about vaccines: They don't really produce the same quality and strength of antibodies that your own body would produce from a natural infection and recovery. That's why the vaccines "wear off" and leave you with zero protection from the very strains they inoculate you against.
In other words, vaccines don't work as advertised. And that's why the vaccine industry has to keep pushing the same vaccine strains year after year. Because, think about it: If vaccines actually worked as intended, they would give you lifetime immunity against whatever strains you were injected with, right? And yet the CDC now openly admits vaccines don't offer that at all:
"This year's flu shot will be a duplicate of last year's because the same flu strains are still circulating," reports the Associated Press in an article about the CDC. "Government health officials are urging nearly everyone to get this fall's flu shot. They say a vaccine's protection can fade significantly after several months." Vaccine protection fades after a few months? Well then, vaccines must not actually cause the body to react with producing its own antibodies, because those antibodies, we're told, offer lifetime immunity.
Another way you can confirm this yourself is by remembering your history. Remember when the Europeans came to America centuries ago and killed off masses of American Indians by accidentally giving them smallpox? Well, if the Indians died of smallpox, why didn't the Europeans die of smallpox? (There were no vaccines in the 1600's and 1700's.) The answer is because the Europeans had already been exposed and built up lifetime immunity to the disease.
Thus, the reason the European invaders of North America did not die from smallpox wasn't because they were vaccinated; it was because they had already been exposed to the disease and had built up active immunity against it (by producing their own antibodies which last a lifetime). Thus, the Europeans could be exposed to smallpox over and over again with no symptoms of infection. They were effectively "immune" to smallpox, in exactly the same way a human being living today becomes immune to a winter flu strain by first being exposed to the full strength strain (in the wild) and then building up their own antibodies in an automatic adaptive response.
But don't expect the vaccine industry to educate anyone on how infectious disease and antibodies really work. They're too busy selling annual flu shots to bother with scientific facts.
The flu vaccine manufacturing machine is on high output
"Five vaccine manufacturers announced plans to make between 166 million and 173 million doses for the coming season," says the same article mentioned above. That's the highest vaccine manufacturing output for the USA in the history of vaccines.
With all these 170 million (or so) vaccines sitting around by the time the winter rolls around, the CDC is obviously going to have to kick its propaganda and fear mongering into high gear to convince people to buy all these vaccines. This is going to be doubly difficult considering the inconvenient fact that all the people who got vaccinated last year already received vaccines against these same viral strains!
So, in other words, the CDC must now convince 170 million people that last year's vaccine was such a complete failure that they need the exact same vaccines this year -- and somehow this year's vaccine will work better even though it's exactly the same as last year's vaccine. How will they accomplish this?
It's simple: They won't talk much about the fact that this year's flu vaccine is identical to last year's flu vaccine. They'll just repeat their blatant lies about vaccines offering near-100 percent protection against the flu -- an insinuation so blatantly false that the FTC should actually charge the vaccine manufacturers with false advertising.
And the great unknowing masses will, of course, line up to be injected yet again with the same cocktail of viral strains and vaccine preservatives that didn't work for them last year! Because the hilarious truth about flu vaccines is that most of the people who get sick from the flu each year are the same people who were vaccinated against the flu!
Yep, it's the devastating secret of the vaccine industry: Most of the flu victims each year are precisely the same people who took the flu shots. And now you know why that is so -- because the flu vaccine shots simply don't work. Even if you do believe they work at first, even the CDC openly admits -- on the record -- that "flu vaccines stop working after several months."
They fade out like a set of old batteries, in other words. And that right there is proof that flu vaccines don't produce a true antibody response.
The great vaccine marketing con: Annual vaccine shots
The CDC is now engaged in the marketing of annual vaccination of the entire population. That's the game, you see: Convince people they need an annual flu shot just to stay healthy. It's a complete marketing con, of course, but it's necessary to keep the flu vaccine profit machine humming along each winter.
In doing this, the CDC is now running a criminal marketing racket to falsely push vaccines as the solution even though flu vaccines simply don't work. For every 100 people vaccinated against the winter flu, by the way, 99 of them will experience no difference whatsoever in their flu outcomes. Even using the industry's own best evidence, flu vaccines are no more than one percent effective at actually preventing the flu (http://www.naturalnews.com/029641_v...) -- and that's only during the first few months before they "fade out."

The truth is that the CDC abandoned real science long ago and is now engaged almost entirely in infectious disease fear mongering and the wholesale prostitution of itself to the vaccine industry. The CDC has become to the vaccine industry what infomercial guru Tony Little is to exercise equipment. This is an agency that now functions as little more than the marketing branch of the vaccine giants.
As part of that total prostitution of itself to the vaccine makers, last year the CDC even announced that virtually everyone should get annual flu vaccine shots, including pregnant women!
You can immunize yourself against the winter flu
But here's the other dirty little secret the CDC absolutely does not want you to know: If you skip the vaccine, boost your vitamin D intake, and encounter the flu naturally, you will build your own lifetime antibodies against the infection.
Got that? So the best way to immunize yourself against a particular strain of the winter flu is to dose up on vitamin D, boost your nutritional intake, get healthy and then just go out into the world and stop worrying about exposing yourself to the flu. You'll pick it up somewhere, and if your immune system is functioning well with high levels of vitamin D (that's the vitamin that "activates" your immune response to flu infections), your body will build its own antibodies, and you won't even know it! You will have what's called a "symptomless infection" and won't even know your body successfully fought off the viral invader.
Better yet, because you were exposed to the real viral strain in the wild (and not some weakened strain in a flu vaccine shot), your body will maintain lifetime immunity to that viral strain. And isn't that the goal of immunization in the first place?
Immunizing yourself, you see, works far better than relying on the vaccine industry to immunize you through some artificial means (an injection). Their immunization, it turns out, simply doesn't work reliably. And that's why the sad sellouts and prostitutes of the vaccine industry have to keep pushing their same lame flu shots year after year, with no improvements and virtually zero effectiveness.
And the same ignorant consumers line up year after year to get the same failed flu shots year after year... then they wonder why they still get sick year after year.
Do the math, folks. This is not rocket science. If flu shots worked as well as your own immune response to a natural infection, then you would only need one shot in your entire life for any given viral flu strain. But that, of course, would be bad for vaccine profits. They need suckers to believe in annual flu shots so they can keep raking in the big bucks year after year.

The hepatitis B vaccine is given to U.S. infants at birth. But there is impressive evidence that for a preventive measure, hepatitis B vaccine is remarkable for the frequency, variety, and severity of complications from its use.
Hepatitis B vaccine has been shown in many peer-reviewed research papers to be associated with numerous infant deaths in the U.S. and Europe, multiple sclerosis and numerous chronic autoimmune disorders.
According to Child Health Safety, the U.S. government admitted as much when a Court found in favor of a plaintiff (deceased by the time the decision was made) who had developed systemic lupus erythematosus:
"Tambra Harris ... filed a petition for compensation alleging that she suffered certain injuries as a result of receiving a vaccination. Among the injuries petitioner alleged that she had suffered as a result of receiving a hepatitis B vaccination was systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) ... A lump sum of $475,000.00 in the form of a check payable to petitioner as Administratrix of the Estate of Tambra Harris."
Since parents' concerns about childhood vaccine safety have greatly increased during the past five years, a new report also suggests that pediatricians and family physicians should figure out ways to spend LESS time talking with them about it.
According to American Medical News:

American Medical News May 2, 2011 Dr. Mercola's Comments: Three hepatitis B shots are part of the standard government-recommended childhood vaccination schedule, with the first dose given at 12 hours of age in the newborn nursery of most hospitals.
Despite what you may hear in the media, reactions can be serious. In fact, hepatitis B appears to be one of the most problematic vaccines on the current schedule.
As Dr. Jane Orient of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) testified to Congress:
"For most children, the risk of a serious vaccine reaction may be 100 times greater than the risk of hepatitis B."
Now the U.S. government has also conceded that the vaccine carries risks, specifically they have conceded that it may cause systemic lupus erythematosus.
Nearly Half a Million Dollars Awarded to Hepatitis B Vaccine Victim
On August 29, 2001, Tambra Harris filed a petition for compensation alleging that she suffered certain injuries, including lupus (SLE), as a result of receiving a hepatitis B vaccination. Harris sought an award under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, and on March 22, 2011 -- nearly 10 years later! -- counsel for both parties filed a stipulation stating that a decision should be entered awarding compensation.
A lump sum of $475,000 was awarded to the Estate of Tambra Harris as "compensation for all damages." Unfortunately, Tambra died in November 2009, so she never got to see the result of her petition.
This is only one case of many reported serious reactions to the hepatitis B vaccine.
Routine use of the hepatitis B vaccine for all newborns began in 1992, and according to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), operated jointly by the CDC and FDA, there were 36,788 officially reported adverse reactions to hepatitis B vaccines between 1992 and 2005. Of these, 14,800 were serious enough to cause hospitalization, life-threatening health events or permanent disabilities.
And 781 people were reported to have DIED following hepatitis B vaccination -- and this is likely an underestimate because only a fraction of the serious health problems, including deaths, following vaccination are ever acknowledged due to a lack of public awareness about how to recognize signs and symptoms of vaccine reactions.
Vaccine adverse events are substantially underreported—some estimate by as much as 90 percent—even though the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 mandated that all doctors and other vaccine providers report serious health problems, including hospitalizations, injuries and deaths following vaccination.
The 1986 Act did not include sanctions for failing to report potential vaccine reactions to VAERS and so most vaccine providers do not file a report when the health of a person recently vaccinated begins to deteriorate.
Many vaccine reactions are not even recognized by medical personnel as vaccine-related.
For instance, when babies die after hep B vaccinations, most of the time their deaths are automatically attributed to SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) without investigation into whether the vaccine caused the baby's sudden death.
When a baby's death is listed as "SIDS," rarely does anyone ask about the deceased infant's vaccination history to find out whether there were symptoms of vaccine reactions before death.You Catch Hepatitis B the Same Way You Catch AIDSThe serious safety risks surrounding the hep B shot become even more unacceptable when you look into how the disease is actually transmitted. Hepatitis B is a viral infection that affects your liver, and spreads through direct contact with the body fluids (particularly blood and semen) of an infected person.
Hepatitis B is a primarily blood-transmitted disease associated with lifestyle choices such as unprotected sex with multiple partners and intravenous drug use involving sharing needles—it is NOT primarily a "children's disease" or that of newborn babies!

For all of these serious risks, what is your baby getting in return?
Consider that not only do infants and children rarely acquire hepatitis B, but vaccines only confer temporary, partial immunity and the length of time you are protected from hepatitis B after receiving the vaccine series has gotten shorter and shorter as studies have revealed antibody levels decline much more rapidly than vaccine developers and policymakers expected.
What this means is that by the time your child may be exposed to hepatitis B, the vaccine they received at birth will likely no longer offer them protection.
So why vaccinate them at birth, especially considering that babies have been found to respond to the vaccine by having an intense, persistent and completely abnormal immune response, which could ultimately result in your child developing permanent brain and immune system dysfunction?
It is not logical. Makes no sense, none, nada, zip.
This is a seriously flawed public health policy recommendation that is not backed up by good science.Doctors Actually Encouraged to Spend LESS Time Warning of Vaccine Dangers!The knowledge that vaccines carry risks is becoming more widespread in the United States and other developed countries as more children and adults are getting vaccinated with multiple vaccines and suffering serious health problems that become permanent.
At the same time, parents are asking doctors more questions about why vaccines are not making their children healthier but are making them sicker and doctors and public health officials have no answers.
The bottom line is that, as more people become educated about vaccine side effects, they are demanding to take control of their health. It is a GREAT sign, as it means the more people are educating themselves, the more they are taking responsibility for making their own health care decisions.
In fact, according to a new report in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine nearly 80 percent of pediatricians and family care physicians have at least one vaccine refusal a month, and 89 percent have at least one request a month to spread out the administration of vaccines over multiple visits.
The conclusion of the report, though, was that as parents become more aware of vaccine safety concerns, physicians are having to take more time discussing this at appointments.
And this, the report found, was making their jobs "less satisfying," especially for pediatricians.
That's right, the study found that 46 percent of pediatricians reported their job was less satisfying because of parental vaccine concerns. After all, the study shows that about one in two doctors may spend up to 19 minutes on the topic with parents who have substantial immunization concerns.
The researchers actually concluded:
"The burden of communicating with parents about vaccines is high, especially among pediatricians. Physicians report the greatest success convincing skeptical parents using messages that rely on their personal choices and experiences."
In other words, since it's apparently simply too much trouble for pediatricians to address the valid concerns of parents AND because pediatricians do not have good answers for why so many highly vaccinated children are so sick, perhaps they shouldn't bother answering questions, or perhaps they should instill their own personal beliefs and vaccine risk denial onto patients in an effort to shut them up quickly.
I guess when it comes to the safety of a child, 19 minutes is too much to ask of many pediatricians. If yours is one of them, I suggest you find a new pediatrician, pronto. Remember you can always FIRE your doctor. If you are opposed to the hepatitis B vaccine for your baby at birth, you can amend the "consent for medical treatment" forms you sign upon entering the hospital before giving birth by writing on the form that you do not give consent for your baby's hepatitis B vaccination in the newborn nursery.
However, there are reports that some newborns are being vaccinated in the newborn nursery against the parent's wishes. So it is a good idea to keep your newborn with you at all times or have a family member stay with the baby while in the hospital.
Vaccine exemptions: Although hepatitis B vaccines may be "mandated" for your child to attend school, each state offers different legal exemptions (medical, religious, and philosophical). Research your state's specific vaccine requirements and find out what kind of exemption to vaccination you are allowed to exercise in your state.

Vaccine injuries that can happen to anyone randomly amongst the vaccinated are not the only issues. Some experts claim vaccines lower immunity for everyone who receives them. The increased disease count for any given populace matches its increased vaccination schedule.
All Vaccines Are Dangerous
A former vaccine developer, now whistle blower, was interviewed by investigative journalist Jon Rapapport. The whistle blower used an alias to protect his identity. He actually had helped develop more than one vaccine. But eventually he couldn't tolerate the lies, especially after his friend's baby died after a DPT shot.
He told Rapapport that there is no way to have a totally clean, safe vaccine. And it's not just because of the adjuncts and preservatives. Understanding this should change the informed consent movements to no consent movements if they would realize this one basic point.
From that interviewed whistle blower: "As far as I'm concerned, all vaccines are dangerous. They involve the human immune system in a process that tends to compromise immunity. They can actually cause the disease they are supposed to prevent. They can cause other diseases than the ones they are supposed to prevent." (Source 1 below)
There are viruses and retro-viruses from animal and human tissues as well as other contaminants. An outstanding documented example is SV-40 (Simian Virus 40). SV-40 was in most of the vaccines used to vaccinate against polio. For several years this went on until the word got out that SV-40 was a virus that could cause cancer.
The vaccine manufacturer, Merck, claimed they would no longer use the monkey kidneys that had the SV-40 to manufacture their polio vaccines. But they continued using the already existing SV-40 contaminated vaccines until well into the 1980s.
The result has been a cancer explosion among those vaccinated against polio during that period, from the 1950s through the mid-1980s. SV-40 viruses were found in cancer tumors among many who received those shots.
Why Vaccinations Will Never Confer Immunity
The interviewed mystery whistle blower and Andreas Moritz, holistic healer and author of Vaccine Nation: Poisoning the Population One Shot at a Time, both agree that even the premise of vaccinations is flawed. White killer cells or antibodies are stirred up by vaccinations. But that is the secondary action of an immune system.
Our whole body, our skin, eye water, mucous linings in our nose, through the nasal passage and tonsils and into the gastrointestinal (GI) system, offers the primary line of defense against disease. Remember, pH balance is part of the immune system as well.
Intestinal flora are extremely important. These friendly bacteria comprise over half of our immune system. It's been discovered that our friendly flora are the switches for the secondary part of our immune system, those killer white blood cells.
Andreas provides statistics to show the very dramatic increases in asthma, allergies, ADD and ADHD, and other neurological diseases including autism among those vaccinated. Cancer and other degenerative disease is more likely as vaccinated children grow older also. (Source 2 below)

Being politically correct to avoid the label of anti-vaccination is a waste of time and effort. Vaccination advocates talk of protecting the herd with some collateral damage. Vaccinations, cheap to produce and exempt from direct liability, are for profit while sickening or maybe even culling the herd rather than protecting it.
Instead of informed consent, there should be NO consent.

(NaturalNews) The Chapel Hill - Carrboro City School (CHCCS) district in North Carolina has launched a shocking new vaccination contest that offers prize incentives to students who get vaccinated. According to the CHCCS district website, for each vaccine a student receives, he or she will also receive an entry into a drawing to win an Apple iPod or a laptop computer -- and students that get the entire recommended vaccine schedule, which includes the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine for both boys and girls, will be allowed extra entries into the contest and more chances to win than other students.
According to the CHCCS website, the three vaccines being promoted are the Meningococcal vaccine, the Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) combination vaccine, and the HPV vaccine. Between April 1, 2011, and May 31, 2011, students are encouraged to get one or all of these vaccines, and present proof to their school nurse before June 1. Those that do will receive individual entries for each vaccine, and four entries total if they get all three.
The stunt is taking place under the leadership of superintendent Neil Pedersen, and is being promoted by both school nurses and the Orange County Health Department. The CHCCS information page explains that the contest was made possible by a donation from a family whose daughter allegedly died from meningococcal disease, but it does not explain why the Tdap and HPV vaccines are also included in the vaccine drive.
The Tdap vaccine, of course, is a highly dangerous vaccine that has been implicated in causing permanent brain damage and other serious injuries. Just a few months ago, a Texas man explained to My FOX Houston that the Tdap vaccine caused his otherwise healthy and bright young daughter to basically turn into a vegetable, suffering hundreds of seizures daily as a result (http://www.naturalnews.com/031469_v...).

A new study, published in Human and Experimental Toxicology (http://het.sagepub.com/content/earl...), a peer-reviewed journal indexed by the National Library of Medicine, found that nations with higher (worse) infant mortality rates tend to give their infants more vaccine doses. For example, the United States requires infants to receive 26 vaccines -- the most in the world -- yet more than six U.S. infants die per every 1000 live births. In contrast, Sweden and Japan administer 12 vaccines to infants, the least amount, and report less than three deaths per 1000 live births.
The authors of the study, Neil Z. Miller and Dr. Gary Goldman, conducted a literature review to determine the immunization schedules for the United States and all 33 nations with better infant mortality rates than the United States. The total number of vaccine doses specified for infants aged less than one year was then determined for each country. The 34 nations were then organized into data pairs consisting of total number of vaccine doses specified for their infants and infant mortality rates. A scatter plot of the data pairs provided evidence of a positive correlation: infant mortality rates and vaccine doses tend to increase together.
Nations were also grouped into five different vaccine dose ranges. The mean infant mortality rates of all nations within each group were then calculated. Analysis showed "a high statistically significant correlation between increasing number of vaccine doses and increasing infant mortality rates."
It is instructive to note that many developing nations require their infants to receive multiple vaccine doses and have national vaccine coverage rates (a percentage of the target population that has been vaccinated) of 90% or better, yet their infant mortality rates are poor. Infant mortality rates will remain high in nations that cannot provide clean water, proper nutrition, improved sanitation, and better access to health care.
Nations with higher (worse) infant mortality rates give their infants, on average, more vaccine doses. This positive correlation, derived from the data, elicits an important inquiry: Are some infant deaths associated with over-vaccination? Is it possible that some nations are requiring too many vaccines for their infants and the additional vaccines are a toxic burden on their health?
Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS):
There is some evidence that a subset of infants may be more susceptible to SIDS shortly after being vaccinated. For example, Torch found that unvaccinated babies who died of SIDS did so most often in the fall or winter while vaccinated babies died most often at 2 and 4 months -- the same ages when initial doses of DPT were given to infants. He concluded that DPT "may be a generally unrecognized major cause of sudden infant and early childhood death, and that the risks of immunization may outweigh its potential benefits." It appears as though some infant deaths attributed to SIDS may be vaccine related, perhaps associated with biochemical or synergistic toxicity due to over-vaccination.
All nations have an obligation to determine whether their immunization schedules are achieving their desired goals.

They can do this for the simple reason that a law isn't technically unconstitutional until a court says it is. This makes sense, since anyone can cry "unconstitutional" at any time about anything. Unfortunately, though, this means that laws can be enacted that are unconstitutional, whether intentionally or not by those enacting them. Such a situation occurred with the design of some Navy regulations concerning vaccine religious exemptions. The good news is, when the problems were pointed out to Navy officials at the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery in Washington D.C., they agreed to change policy and revise the regulations accordingly -- twice!
The first instance occurred last fall when Navy officials refused to allow a Navy family to transfer from Italy to Spain without getting vaccinated, despite the family's religious objections. This was probably due to a flaw in regulation design, but you know the military -- they follow the regulations to the letter. Ironically, the family had no problems refusing vaccines in Italy or Spain, but regulations required them to be vaccinated for the transfer from Italy to Spain.
When I reviewed the regulations, several problems stood out. First, they were inconsistent with the federal Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA),i federal statutory law that states: "Government shall not substantially burden a person's exercise of religion" unless it "furthers a compelling governmental interest" and "is the least restrictive means of furthering that compelling governmental interest."ii
While we can reasonably assume that vaccination would be considered a compelling government interest by the Navy, the least restrictive means surely allows for religious exemptions, since nearly every federal and state law that requires vaccines allows for religious exemptions. Second, international travel vaccine requirements are governed by the World Health Organization's International Health Regulations,iii and they require only the yellow fever vaccine, for people traveling in and out of sub-Saharan Africa and tropical South America. Third, the Navy allows its members to refuse vaccines for religious reasons, so requiring members' families to be vaccinated was inconsistent with the rule for members. So, at my clients' request, I sent these and other concerns in a detailed legal analysis to the Vice Admiral, Navy Surgeon General of the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery. The Commander of the Judge Advocate General's Corps replied and concurred with my analysis. Policy has changed, and the regulations are being amended.
A second situation occurred this past winter on a much broader matter. Navy regulations require a religious exemption applicant to be a member of an organized religion with a tenet or belief opposing immunizations, and to have an "authorized personal religious counselor" endorse the applicant's exemption request.iv This raised several concerns. First, there are multi-branch regulations that set out religious exemption requirements without these restrictions; the Navy had added its own further restrictions to the multi-branch rules. But the multi-branch requirements were broad for a reason: More strict requirements would exceed the military's authority under federal law. A brief summary of the legal analysis is as follows:
First, the RFRA applies as described above, and it defines 'religious exercise' as including "any exercise of religion, whether or not compelled by, or central to, a system of religious belief."v This is also a line of federal legal precedent telling us that laws requiring membership in an organized religion for the exercise of a state vaccine religious exemption violate the First and Fourteenth Amendments of the U.S. Constitution.vi Finally, the Navy has authority under the multi-branch regulations to require vaccines of an exempt member at any time that the member's commander deems the mission to require that, so there's really no need for them to add further restrictions to the multi-branch regulations. So, there is clear legal authority to support the proposition that the Navy exceeded its authority by requiring membership in an organized religion. Once again, I'm happy to report that the Navy concurred with my analysis. I was recently informed that "the Navy has changed its policy on immunizations for Service members," and they expect to have revised regulations in place within the next few months.
Changing laws can be a lengthy, arduous task, especially if there is opposition to the underlying agenda from mainstream authorities as is usually the case with efforts to expand vaccine exemption rights. So, I'm grateful to the Navy for their cooperation on these matters. It allowed us to gain some ground toward greater vaccine freedom of choice without the need for an adversarial lawsuit or a complicated grassroots legislative initiative.
