Fired the real estate agent. I looked at his description and pictures of my house and was so disappointed at how bad the house looked! It is a nice house well decorated -turn key. And these pictures makes the house look small and ugly! What else to do? I will paint the veranda like I wanted it done but the men said oh why it is just a porch- stupid men! It is an outdoor living room! Kirby/San Antonio is a 12 months out door living area. Morning sun in the winter evening shade in the summer. If I could take this house with me to Maine I would. It is not a piece of Junk and Kirby is not some scummy area!!! There is a lot of Bias for New houses but their life span is 25 years with the way they are built- this house is energy efficient, lots of space for vegetable gardens and fruit trees. Quiet country living but full city services like police fire and EMS.....

Pakistan, USA, India
Modern civilization is in decline and has been for about 20 years. While some developing countries will add a little to their livings it will not last. I am also upset that no one knows anything about Pakistan and how miss treated it has been since its birth. India never honored any of the agreements made at partition, In fact India was and is a constant aggressor. Annexing several countries and forcing them to join India, with holding divided funds and other stuffs causing deprivation to Pakistan. Not only is India an enemy to Pakistan American has treated Pakistan like a whore. It was with Pakistan's help that Gary Powers was released, it was with Pakistan's help that Nixon was able to open dialogs with China as well as many other helps. but What did America do for Pakistan? Di America help build infrastructure? Like roads, rail roads, sewage plants, electrical generating plants, water delivery, schools, steel mills or other needed factories? No not one time did America care to help Pakistan do these things. Pakistan started its life as an orphan with nothing- no industry, no office furniture for its government offices, no money to pay anyone or even buy food. India dams up all the rivers that flow to Pakistan with impunity to starve Pakistan of water. No one cares about Pakistan because it was a Muslim country. Yet Pakistan's flag is green and white it is symbolic of its being a home for Indian Muslims who were not and are not treated fairly by India- the green part and the white part for all others who live there. Pakistan was created to be a secular country. It suffered from being an orphan with bad evil leaders- no other country stepped in to offer help to the nascent country. Yet when Pakistan's location made it useful to the West it was courted and given gifts then once the job was done cast aside. Clinton can scream all she wants about Pakistan not doing enough for the USA ridiculous fight against the Tailban- who by the way did not do anything against the USA before we invaded them- What has the USA done for Pakistan when millions of Afghanis fled into Pakistan while we helped fight the proxy war with the USSR/ We will send and sell guns and bombs because it is good for our economy and our desires but spend a penny on schools or water? No. The USA is a "Christian" country and I can see plainly what Christians are and from this view it is not pretty. Besides the USA on decline the whole world is going down and will emerge as a different world- not quite in my life time though.

Yesterday I learned that a friend of 22 years has cancer. We have known him since he was 21. He started out as a roofer and handyman and worked up to a respected construction company and has done much work for us. He is honorable and trustworthy. This is so not fair to him. It always lets me realize that my choice to leave the idea of a god and some sort of "great being" up there guiding our lives is so much bull bleep. I do not care for religions of any kind. However I do think most(99.9%) of people need that someone watching them because they will not behave if they did not think there was some sort of punishment waiting for bad behavior. The true test of character is behaving well- morally & ethically with out the fear of punishment or promise of reward. That is the sign of a mature human being. Someone who has evolved to true human status not staring at the humanoid level. I am so bereaved at the thought of this nice young man and his family not getting his share of life while really nasty people seem to thrive. Life is a dice game and buying a lotto ticket- the odds are against us from birth. There is no proof that anyone "up there" cares about down here. If there is someone/thing then phooey on you for your cruelty to this small planet. But it is just like spiting in the wind there is nothing there. So we suffer and die. So each day is to be lived for now enjoy. Eat a bon bon, listen to music read a nice book or short story, sing, dance be merry. There is no guarantee that tomorrow will come for you.

Have to change the wake-up time. it is different. I decided to redo the bug eaten mosaic of a rooster my grandmother made 50 years ago. I use what I have as she used what she had. I get my found art gene from her. She rode horse with her Father's Caravans on the silk route.

May already! My how time flies. Years do not seem to be as long as they once were. There is an illusion that we live for a long time but it is only an illusion since for at least 18 years we are children, then from 18 to 60s is our adult life then after that we are in decline or dead already. Such a short time to live. Yet politicians every where want to make our lives as miserable as possible- they make up wars and use stupid reasons like tribal, religious, ethnic, whatever to divided the species of human beings into factions- And most of us let them do it. So silly and in the long run useless and futile. We will all die sooner or later. Have fun now. However it is still correct to be moral and not perverted and depraved- there is plenty of good things to do in the world. I have a bird building a nest in the tree across the street and I will work at getting pictures. Love is the only thing important in life.

and students who have been absent at least 50% of the time are now asking is there anything they can do for extra credit? If they would have shown up and listened to the lectures and taken notes and the exams they would be fine. Now they NEED a B to get into the next level- like the university-. So the Administration wants to know why students drop courses, well instead of asking the students they ask the teacher. How the hell do I know why that student who did not come to class did not come to class? The science building( which is home to Chemistry/Geology/Astronomy departments) is being renovated
(3rd long semester in a row time-wise) and when the whole department is scattered across the campus in makeshift rooms and offices[ and had to move to other makeshift office twice already] and their supplies and equipment is in storage, in boxes at home -it is the final week- next week is exams, the Administration wants to take an inventory- is this a great country or what:wizard: ?

I watched a fabulous movie- Kalapani (1958) It is such a good film. Since I used to teach literature I like to explicate poems, stories and films. Some have a lot of deeper meanings and surprises for those who know how to look. First off old Indian films have music- sung poems- which is a tradition from this part of the world. They are not gratuitous but dialog that can't be said as in conversation. It is more like reading thoughts in a novel. When Q saw the scene where the song/poem was done he was amazed- he had heard that song/poem for 50+ years and now he saw it in context and it took on a whole new dimension. If I would write a paper on this movie it could easily run 20 pages- there is so much. I do not know the relationship with Christianity and India so the symbolic use of the cross and Christian cemetery is unknown to me. And of course my scientist is no literary writer so he does not know. It is one of the first movies to mention the leaving of the British after partition. However there is so much that this mystery will eventually come to me. I recommend this movie to anyone who has a brain and the subtitles are very good-they even subtitled the song/poems which is not easy. I am slowly learning Urdu- Q was not wanting to teach me 20 years ago he wanting to be American. But I knew he would want something from home eventually I come from immigrant stock and I know the yeast is strong for one's motherland. And Urdu is second to none in poetry, as a Master of English literature that should count for something to all of you. It is Urdu/Hindi the few differences is script and borrowing words from Persian/Arabic/Sanskrit. The glory of India owes 75% thanks to the Islamic influence. And it is a shame that [RSS] Hindus are more like Nazis and Zionists. If Islam was truly a violent religion no one would be a Hindu in India [nor a Christian, nor a Jew in the European areas] it ruled for hundreds of years. After all the years of mistreatment the cat fights back now. Like the Jews in Israel they rolled over and died in Germany but now they are the steamroller. Do not call me anything negative either- I lost 1/2 of my family line to the Nazis so I also suffered from their hand, I now suffer from the Christians here in the USA. So no religion is free from its yoke of repression and hatred of the "other".

I am happy and sad, content and restless, full of expectations and disappointments, All are here. It is raining and I am up very early for a Saturday been up since 6am. I went "shopping" on line- I live that really. I needed a food processor since mine is 3000 miles away (4,828.032 kilometers) so it is cheaper to buy a new one then go get the other one! I am experimenting on vegetarian things so far I have conquered Flarn (seitan) it is easy to make and I want to do all sorts of things too it. I wish I had more people to experiment on! My husband is not into a lot of eating and I can only eat so much too. I want to re-work quiche and try some sauces like hollandaise with tofu. but one needs to be able to puree it and a fork does not work!!:-) So I found one and it will be here in a week. All the major and many minor roads are torn up to be "improved" so driving around is a nightmare and near death experience! I love the inter net since I have all of you to talk to and I can't see your eyes roll and hear you say here she goes again
