23rd of June 2009
Last day of our E6 tour. We arrived in Trondheim and visited the city for around 2 hours including the habour and the market. There we ate 2 pancakes with creme and marmalade... and I tried to order it, causing more trouble than it helped, but at least I saved the situation by knowing the word for strawberry marmelade: Jorbærsyltetøy!

Afterwards we headed north, still following E6 towards Steinkjer, where we left E6 and drove to the norwegian coast near Namsos, where we found lovely spot around 15 meters away from the sea.
Later in the evening we took our fishing rutes and tried to catch some fish and I got 2 smaller ones... that I threw back into the sea.
The special event this day (besides the pancakes) was that we saw a small whale crossing our bay!

More whales today! We saw 4 different ones (all about the size of a dolphin, maybe slightly taller) diving back and forward right about 30-50 meters away from us.
We took out 4 fishes (threw back another 2) and I almost caught the biggest fish I ever had - about 7-9 pounds - but in the moment we wanted to take him out of the water, I made a stupid mistake and it got away.

But the lunch was still outstanding thanks to my dad.

At the evening we took a last turn and caught 2 more, so tomorrow's lunch is already safe. I must admit, that this area is very nice: it's calm, warm, blue sky, a good amount of fish and some whale-watching. We decided to stay one more day, before we go on.

Some whales passed us by, but until the very evening we didn't catch any fish, and the two we got later that day were too small for cooking, so we threw them back into the sea. The weather on the other hand was outstanding: We had up to 28°C, almost no clouds at all. On the bad side: The skin has turned totally red and burns very unpleasant. And now it gets even better: We have several different skin creams with us, but not even a single sun lotion.

We decided to go on tomorrow and get us some sun lotion and a couple of eggs.
26th of June
We are back on the road. The first coop-market we passed was obviously too small, so we couldn't find any sun lotion, but we went on and found a bigger coop-market in Osen. There we bought sun lotion, some eggs, icecream and a norwegian newspaper. Big news of the day: "Michael Jackson er død!" (Michael Jackson is dead) To die at the age of 51... I feel sorry for him and for us all. We have lost one of the biggest artists of our time.

We ended up on a small camping ground in Lonin, where we took a good shower and had a nice dinner.

27th of June
We went on, further south-west along the norwegian coast of Nord-Trøndelag. The weather gets even better, again 28°C and pretty much no clouds. We saw our first elk today, a grey heron and some beautiful landscapes.

We found a good place for the night - somewhere near Nes - but we had no luck when fishing. Not even a bite. A bit later two more caravans arrived (two couples who came from Northern Norway) and parked close to us.
Even though norwegians don't like to see people camp wildly, those people took out their tables and chairs and made themself comfortable. We try to avoid such a behaviour, as we are still just guests in a foreign country.

28th of June
We went on and left the area of Fosna, crossed the Trondheimsfjord by ferry and left those strange tourists behind us. We had to drive a little bit around, until we found a good spot, but now we are standing some meters away from the Åstfjord, near Slørdal. A little bit more to the west there shall be a memorial stone for a sunken ship who carried a wedding couple and their guests. 19 people died in the sea, including the young bridal couple.

The fishing spot itself is okay - we caught a good fish and have a wonderful view - but we decided to go on tomorrow.
29th of June
We decided to change our route completely and headed to Molde today. It's been a bit of trouble since the road E26 was closed in the middle of our tour and we had to take a detour of around 3 hours. So we arrived in Molde around 5pm and had a look around in this beautiful small city, known for its roses and Jazz festival (according to our tour guide Molde has 23.000 inhabitants, but around 60.000 guests for the festival!).
After a small trip through the city center, we left Molde again and headed south towards Romsdalen.
30th of June
Today we did a short trip: We just followed the road E136 back to the E6, watched several impressive waterfalls and stopped at 2pm on a nice camping place near Kvam, where we rested up and prepared for the return to Germany.
1st of July
We're officially on our way back. Today we made a really big jump: We passed Lillehammer, Oslo, Göteborg and stopped close to Halmstad in Sweden. On a side note: In Göteborg was such a big traffic jam (people trying to get out of the city to the north), that we were quite happy that the way to the south was almost free (only about 5 minutes of waiting).
2nd of July
Today we passed whole Denmark and made it passed Hamburg. It is very interesting to see, how different people drive in Norway compared to Germany: In the North we had almost no trouble at all, back in Germany the truck drivers have no more fear and often seem to try to push us from the road.

We stopped on a motorway service area and were pretty surprised to see that there were almost no places left for normal cars, because there were already trucks standing (while their places were still free). I counted 8 trucks standing on car areas, while there were still 13 spots left in their own area.

3rd of July
We are home again. We took the last part and arrived about 12am at my home. We had a shower, went into the city and had a nice lunch, before my dad left for his last part of the trip. He arrived some hours later...
All in all? Awesome holidays in a country with friendly people, beautiful landscapes, great weather and pretty women.
