Touch my WACOM!

,

In preparation of the upcoming Dragon Age Toolset I recently bought a brand new WACOM graphics tablet. It's the biggest one of the new Bamboo Pen & Touch series, so it is capable of replacing my mouse, too. I already tried it and it works really nice, but the best is still the pen.

Even though it's not as precise as the pen I got on my Intuos2 A3 (larger than my 26" LCD screen!), it's good enough to create graphics and texture right from scratch. Perfect for photo editing and drafting... and you even get some pretty cool software on top of it like Corel Painter Essentials 4! yes

I really can't wait to finally get the Dragon Age Toolset and start creating content for the game! cool

Is it really a good replacement for a mouse? Would you use it for programming? *scratching head*

For programming I use a keyboard tbh... not a mouse nor a tablet. Surely the tablet is not a perfect replacement for a high resolution mouse, but it does its job surprisingly well. For normal working it's okay, for action games it's not precisely enough.

All in all I think it replaces a mouse better, than a mouse can replace a pen.

I bought the "biggest" model of the series and it cost me about 180 Euros including shipping.
