A Poem

No Man's Land (War Is Hell)
Here I lie in No Man's Land
Three bullets in the gut
The pain, it racks my body
My eyes are tightly shut.
All around is moonlike
Not a living thing around
Except this poor dying soul
Lying here, on the ground.
I slowly take out the pictures
Of all the people I've known
The ones I've loved, and the ones who loved
This broken flesh and bone.
But of all those lovely pictures
There is one on which I dwell
That is you, my love, who loved me most
Before I went to hell.
Let's end the war, and God bless the fallen on both sides, and those left behind.

and so true.
Your feelings are not only yours there are many who feel the same
and some time soon it will all be over ..
we can only pray that day comes soon.
Thank you for sharing

War is wrong. It's a terrible thing that only brings sadness and fear, death and destruction.
I hope one day people will realize that.
I wish to God that people would realize that we all have a life, the greatest gift that our parents gave us, and the debt we should repay to them is to make them proud of us, not to die a young death.
All the best, and God willing, may war never come to your door.
Scouse Mouse.

I was watching last night the review of the protest in DC against the war sadly enough there were not many people there attending and I remember back in the early 60s how millions were out in the streets protesting the war of Vietnam.
People feel if they protest it's not supporting the troops however, it's due to the love of the men and women of the USA they want them HOME NOW !
Thank you for your heart felt words and I sent your page to my friend who is my scout on my blog and she will forward your poem to hundreds
Thanks again

We must all make an effort to end this war. Supporting our troops is not about telling them how we think they are doing a fine job, while scores of them die. It's about getting them HOME SAFELY.
End the war, and make the politicians fight with their words of rhetoric. You never see their kids out on the battlefield, so why should we send ours?
Thank you for your good comments. I only hope this poem can help to end this war.
