Multi Search 2: From POST to GET - a step by step guide

, , , ,

Sometimes search engines cannot be used for “Multi Search” because they are POST searches. But a lot of them can be changed to GET-Searches so that you can use them for Multi-Search.

  1. Install bookmarklet
You can get the bookmarklet on this site.
Right mouse click → bookmark link
    Details → Nickname (example: pg)
  2. Use bookmarklet
Go to the webpage with the POST-search
Enter the nickname in the address (url)-field
Use the search with a word (example: test)
The search string will be displayed in the address field
Replace the search word with %s (in this example: test → %s)
    Copy this search string
  3. Change POST to GET
Now create a “new search” or edit the existing search
    Go to details:
    – uncheck POST
    – replace: the address by the GET-String

Very nice script. Need some help with this one:

http://www.captaincrawl.com/index.php?Inhalt=ScreamingJayHawkins&submitbutton.x=0&submitbutton.y=0

Looks like x and y are variable, tried disabling javascript -no luck so far.

Try this string: http://www.captaincrawl.com/index.php?S1=%s

On closer look http://www.captaincrawl.com/index.php?S1=%s produces only a few useful results, be it bad programming or protection. Anyway stumbled upon http://captaincrawl.com/index.php?TIP=%s which gives a 100% match to a POST request.
