this jar-file is a zip-file. rename the jar as zip and put the properties-file in the zip-file. then rename the file to jar. thats it.

and dont forget, please upload the properties-file in the forum: http://my.opera.com/SearchEdit/forums/forum.dml?id=10851

You do not need to know how Java works.

How about the following:
replace the original file with your file, zip SearchEdit & rename the file extension zip to jar)

Sidenote :
This is the same way like modifying an opera skin

The next version of SearchEdit is nearly ready and will make this step redundant, because you can select your file directly from SearchEdit
