I had to put my stuff on hold due to some stuff I'd rather not talk about, but I should be continuing shortly.
In the meantime, I kinda wonder how long til .NET 3.5 SP1 (along with 2.0 and 3.0 SP2) will be out. I have to hold myself back from installing the beta
Anyway...I'll post more shortly, I should probably get to sleep.

I got through chapter four. Was planning to get through six before the weekend, but it's a start.
I definately like what I see wrt .NET 3.5+WPF, though of course I have no experience with anything else. Visual C# 2008 Express is a lot easier to use than I expected it to be as well.
By the way, in case anyone hasn't seen it yet, Stardock Impulse
is great. Although they don't have the service fully fleshed out yet since it just launched, I already like it far better than Steam in some respects.
Anyway, chat at you all later.

I haven't gotten started quite as quickly as I thought I would yet, though I'm still gathering thoughts on what I want to create (especially given it'll be a first project.) I don't want to go over my head, so it'll probably be much like a crappy flash game not made in flash.
Who knows? We'll see soon enough.
Anyway, back to the basics. My laptop is not exactly upper-class (in other words it's completely useless for anything that isn't related to reading web pages or downloading) so things have been going a little slower than I prefer. (Maybe I'm getting sidetracked by other things, too. But hey, maybe I always will be. Learning to control that may take some time.
If you're wondering why I'm not going to talk about exactly what my project is, you probably don't know me very well

So as some of you've noticed, my last blog was used for bitching more often than I prefer. Now yes, I am occasionally a bit more emotional than I prefer to be, but I'll keep stuff like that to Facebook if I need to vent.
However, I do feel there's still a place for my blog if I can keep it relevant to work I'm doing or informational posts, so although there could well be something in my old posts that was useful, I didn't feel like keeping my 'dirty laundry' out in the public eye. It was occasionally ridiculous.
So anyway, since you're wondering what I have to share...
I guess I'm going to learn programming. I already had a book called 'Programming In The Key of C#" that was a useful starter guide, but didn't go into enough detail for me to actually get going with a project I actually want to work on. Now I have a "Visual C# 2008 Step By Step" book that looks a lot more useful for actually creating graphical apps.
Of course I'll probably want to sell the apps when I'm done with them so I likely have to pick up Visual Studio (or part of it,) but for learning I imagine VC# Express edition will be fine.
I'll let you know how it's going. The natives are restless, and I think this will be easier once I grab a laptop worth working on.
But for now, it's the start of something positive.
