I had to write it for my after school English and at first I hated the idea. In the end I had fun writing it and I hope you'll enjoy reading my work.

It's been 55 days

,

That's right, I've spent the last fifty five days petting, feeding and loving Mumia (Mumu for short), my beautiful and wery wise Guinea Pig, whose ideas and moves sometimes scare me. It's been a great time for me and my whole family, yet a terrible period for my friends because I've been talking about her on every possible occasion. Not to mention I'm working on my "chriii!" [hreee] sound. My family, including my two aunts, already heard about the (Not So) Little (Any More) Furball that lives in the room next to mine. One of them, when I showed her Mumu's pictures, wrote:
My, that's gross! Show it to Aunt Stasia, she hates such things! It'll be fun!
Luckly, most of my friends find Mumu cute, adorable, sweet and lovely. My brother is always talking about ways of cooking her, just because it's as popular as chicken in Peru. Yesterday in occured to me a Guinea Pig (or "Sea Piggy", as we say in Poland) would make a good sushi... Not my Mumu of course...

Mumu has many funny habits and behaviours. The most annoying one is, in my Mom's oppinion, getting the cage dirty as soon as it is cleaned. And don't forget throwing everything out of the cage during each lap she does. Since her "house" is not enough for her when it comes to running, she often has a walk in the kitchen or my bedroom. When she's there, she is most likely to run under my bed and use the floor there as a toilet. She also maneges to collect large amounts of dust thanks to her whiskers. When in the kitchen, she loves to hide behing the bottles my Mom uses for watering flowers. She also adores the radiator. No matter how many times she's already been near to it, she always has to smell and lick it.

It's sometimes hard to get her out of the cage, but when she's out of it, she can't stand being away from me. Everytime I reach my hands out, she comes near me and walks up my palms and shoulders to have a seat on my chest. Isn't that cute?

Mumu is a very active creature. In the begining, she used to sit in one corner of the cage all day long but now she spends most of the time sniffing, running and jumping when she sees me or smells some nice treats. When she's in a good mood and relaxed, she does a carpet of herself, which makes her at least twice longer than she normally looks.

She's a very tidy and clean thing, too. Everytime she sneezes, she tries to clean her little nose with her paws. When she eats a leaf, she tries to eat it at once. When it comes to corn, she resembles cartoon creatures.

(She's trying to have my swetter for dinner at the moment.)

Mumu goes totally CRAZY when she sees paper. Or me. She does the so called dance, which in general means jumping, jumping, jumping... Did I mention jumping?

i think that, after all this time I've spent together with Mumu, I couldn't survie without her. I see her first thing in the morning, come to her first thing after school and tell her good night just before I go to sleep.

Chriii!

Happy Halloween!

Give me all your sweets because it's my birthday today :F

SWEET SIXTEEN!!!

So I'm not such a Sim-Freak after all... At least, I'm not the only one

,

I've been playing The Sims since I was eight years old. Today, after eight years of playing, I've met a true simmer for the very first time. What is more, it was not a girl and not many boys play this game. Going through lots of users' profiles and blogs or the BBS, you can see that the most popular way of saying what somebody meant in their post is saying: "she...(insert explanation here)". When the user is male, he very often puts: "hey, I'm a GUY!" in his signature to avoid having his sex changed by other members of the community. Now you see why I found it so surprising and extra ordinary.

We were sitting in the library due to the fact that we had had good results in our History test. I was extremely bored then and I decided to look over a few people's shoulder to check out what they were doing.

And then it hit me: there it was, THE logo, right in front of me. And there was he, looking at some clothes, which I first thought, came from the H&M Stuff Pack.
"Oh, so... you actually play this thing?" I tried to make my question sound casual.

“Well, I’m just looking at the pics, you know,” he said.

“Yeah, they are from Glamour…”

“What? Glamour is so yesterday!”

“H&M?”

“No, it’s Teen Style!”

That was the point when our discussion began. We talked the whole lesson through. Do I have to say that we’ve been talking about that game ever since?

I’ve always considered myself as a True Fan of The Sims games, both versions. When the sequel came out in 2004, I registered my game and began to go through topics on the BBS, downloaded a few things. Soon, I knew all the abbreviations, the original name of each character and so one. One day, when I had the opportunity to talk to a friend about the game, I realized how poor choice of words I had. It was very difficult for me to find Polish words for most of the things I wanted to speak of.

It was, I think, three years after I had first gotten The Sims 2. Imagine not talking to anybody about something for three or more years. And when you finally get the chance to talk, you simply can’t.

That was one of the reasons why I was afraid to talk to him when I found out he was a fan too. If I had started using English, he might’ve thought I was showing off. Fortunately, I somehow managed to avoid such a situation.

I’m very happy that I know somebody in my class likes that game for real. What is more, that somebody is not a girl.

Democracy!

WELCOME BACK!

Seji says I look like a French in that picture

, ,

Could it be that my French class has already taken over? A picture today, a frog tomorrow?

I've recently met a person, let's call them XYZ, who is totally overreacting when it comes to certain topics, for example politics. I know that everybody has the right to support any option in the world and it's their decision or problem. However, one does not have the right to claim that they are better than others just because they vote/would vote for whoever they think should have influence on a country's situtation. This, I think, XYZ has no idea about.

I don't understand why some people find others worthless just because they don't share their religion, either. Even if I don't believe in God, Buddha or The Great Stain On The Wall, I respect those who do so. To be honest, I'm even impressed by some of them, especially when they still have the courage to believe, even after facing some terrible dificulties, bad luck and so on. Unfortunately, not everybody is able to realise that atheism means neither evil nor communism:

(In class, my friend turned the radio on and found a catholic radostation. Some women were saying "Our Father" and we were all laughing because they sounded like robot for most of the time, not because they were praying.)

XYZ: One musn't laugh about THAT! Turn it off if you want to laugh!

We didn't, though. Instead, we tried to explain that we were laughing because it sounded so strange and robotish. Some time later, one person said that his grandparents listen to that radio station all the time. Severall people told about theirs.

Me: Mine never really listened to it, only when they couldn't make it to go to church on Sunday morning.

XYZ: Do you go to church?

Me: No, I don't.

XYZ: Why? Do your parents do?

Me: Well, not really. When there's a wedding or something, it was my choice though.

XYZ: And your grandparents?

Me: Er... Well, yes, but, you know, not every single day...

XYZ: (In a very rude, mean and "I'm like totally better than you way") Oh, now I see why you don't believe in God.

Like, wow.

It's not that I care about what she said, I coulnd't care less, really. I know that my faith (or lack of it) doesn't make me a better or worse person. The thing is I was simply shocked by the way she said it. It's not her problem. I always thought that very little people are like that (I'm right because I'm /insert religion/party/whatever and you're wrong).

XYZ is somehow related to politics but she realy shouldn't say it on every possible occasion. I don't think anybody should do that, in general. It's not words but dids that count.

Mumu

, , ,

Poznajcie Mumu, Świnkę Morską, która wczoraj wieczorem zamieszkała w moim pokoju.

Meet Mumu, the Guinea Pig that came to live in my room yesterday evening.

Świnka morska

,
