Don't Laugh At Me

,

I'm a little boy with glasses
The one they call the geek
A little girl who never smiles
'Cause I've got braces on my teeth
And I know how it feels
To cry myself to sleep

I'm that kid on every playground
Who's always chosen last
A single teenage mother
Tryin' to overcome my past
You don't have to be my friend
But is it too much to ask

Don't laugh at me
Don't call me names
Don't get your pleasure from my pain
In God's eyes we're all the same
Someday we'll all have perfect wings
Don't laugh at me

I'm the cripple on the corner
You've passed me on the street
And I wouldn't be out here beggin'
If I had enough to eat
And don't think I don't notice
That our eyes never meet

I lost my wife and little boy when
Someone crossed that yellow line
The day we laid them in the ground
Is the day I lost my mind
And right now I'm down to holdin'
This little cardboard sign...so

Don't laugh at me
Don't call me names
Don't get your pleasure from my pain
In God's eyes we're all the same
Someday we'll all have perfect wings
Don't laugh at me

I'm fat, I'm thin, I'm short, I'm tall
I'm deaf, I'm blind, hey, aren't we all

Don't laugh at me
Don't call me names
Don't get your pleasure from my pain
In God's eyes we're all the same
Someday we'll all have perfect wings
Don't laugh at me

You don't stay with the one you can live with

,

You don't stay with the one you can live with
It's the one that you can't live without
It's the one that's got you tore up in pieces, boy
It's the one you keep talking about
Pride's a tough pill to swallow
It'll leave you lonely and cold and bitter
So what you need to do
If she's gonna leave you
You better pack up your things and go with her

Somewhere out there

,

Somewhere out there
Beneath the pale moonlight
Someone's thinking of me
And loving me tonight

Somewhere out there
Somone's saying a prayer
That we'll find one another
In that big somewhere out there

And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star
And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky

Somewhere out there
If love can see us through
Then we'll be together
Somewhere out there
Out where dreams come true

Somewhere out there

And tears come streaming down your face

,

And tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you cant replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?
And high up above or down below
When your too in love to let it go
But if you never try youll never know
Just what your worth

People only live once

, ,

People only live once; or at least that is most of what we are certain of. People strive to make their lives worthy ones; or at least most of them. Therefore people need and desire to improve. Approve less and disapprove more of people my friend; people prefer your disapproval so that they know how to improve better. That is why people reject and get rejected so easily. That is why people you reject grow more attached upon you than the ones you show vast sympathy and enthused confirmation. Reject people for the right reasons and they'll grow attached on you seeking to improve, dreaming but for your genuine tolerance and approval; people find indifference in your politeness; people find indifference in your leniency.

The inevitable will happen

, ,

The inevitable will happen and you have no choice or power over it. The only power you have is to find out if it is actually inevitable or simply overwhelming. Most of the time it is amazing to see that the inevitable is rare and that the overwhelming is what usually gives us a hard time. Unlike the inevitable, you can resist and even overturn the overwhelming; by overwhelming it yourself. There lies the opportunity to explore the power of you will and to push the limits. By overwhelming the overwhelming.

There are three types of people

, ,

There are three types of people when we consider how people think about us.

There are the people who believe in us; those are the people who help us reach our destiny. There are the people who do not believe in us; those are the people who wish we never reach our destiny. There are the people to whom we are indifferent; those do not affect us substantially. No matter which is your destiny, believe in your believers and thus in yourself and despise those who despise you but do not consent to their disbelief unless that may be constructive. This is the only way you may provide justice to yourself and life to your ambitions.

I choose

, ,

I choose to be active and not hesitant or inert; that need not be in physical terms only. I choose to work day by day. To sweat both mentally and physically and then wash and start all over again. The reason for making this choice is onefold. We should work hard because if every person worked hard, humanity would become more self-aware and efficient and it would develop more rapidly towards the dreams of its people and could perhaps approach closer to the answers of humanity's major questions. Doing nothing renders no thing.

But this kind of work ethic may only be followed genuinely by those who do so by realising its very genuine, benevolent reasons and purposes. The ignorant shall remain ignorant...The malicious shall remain malicious...The fraudster shall remain a fraudster..for, unfortunately, the work ethic itself can be and is being followed in a destructive sense... by those whose vision is to built their empires with ashes taken from their victims' dreams and hopes.

My Lovely Enigma

, , ,

they're so forbidden
the thoughts that spill out
they strongly pull at me
the emotions I'm supposed to go without
words spoken only confuse me
leaving my heart in doubt

Admiration and adoration
so easily confused
like and love
so often misused
your heart feels so much
but it's so easily accused

call it unspeakable
but i am unashamed
it's utterly inexpressible
caring not if I'm blamed
but the truth would shatter so much
so my secret remains unnamed

when do you decide
that they are indeed deserving
how long does the situation
require observing
will my heart choose chance
or will my lips betray and continue preserving?

time is my only answer
the only solution capable of bringing serenity
it will gradually emits the deciding light
the detective to my mystery
it will silence my worries and quench my thirst
filling me of what i am deserving, amenity

Friendship is like the breeze

, ,

Friendship is like the breeze,
You can't hold it,
Smell it,
Taste it,
Or know when it's coming,
But you can always feel it,
And you'll always know it's there,
It may come and then go,
But you can know it'll always be back.

A child is born

, ,

A child is born;
With joy and grief
My heart is torn.

Calm in his cradle
The living lies.
May love and mercy
Unclose his eyes!

Young life is breathed
On the glass;
The world that was not
Comes to pass.

A child is sleeping:
An old man gone.
O, father forsaken,
Forgive your son!
James Joyce

The Prophet

, ,

Then Almitra spoke, saying,
We would ask now of Death.
And he said:
You would know the secret of death.
But how shall you find it unless you seek it in the heart of life?
The owl whose night-bound eyes are blind unto the day
cannot unveil the mystery of light.
If you would indeed behold the spirit of death,
open your heart wide unto the body of life.
For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one.
In the depth of your hopes and desires lies your silent knowledge of the beyond;
And like seeds dreaming beneath the snow, your heart dreams of spring.
Trust the dreams, for in them is hidden the gate to eternity.

Kahlil Gibran

All these things have you said of Beauty

,

All these things have you said of Beauty
Yet in truth you spoke not of her but of needs unsatisfied
And beauty is not a need but an ecstasy.
It is not a mouth thirsting nor an empty hand stretched forth,
But rather a heart enflamed and a soul enchanted.
It is not the image you would see nor the song you would hear,
But rather an image you see though you close your eyes
and a song you hear though you shut your ears.

The earth is like a beautiful bride who needs no man-made jewels
to heighten her loveliness but is content with the green verture
of her fields, the golden sands of her seashores and
the precious stones of her mountains.

Your hearts know in silence the secrets
of the days and nights;
But your ears thirst for the sound of
your hearts knowledge.
You would know in words that which
you have always known in thought.
You would touch with your fingers the
naked body of your dreams.

How generous you are, Earth,
and how strong is your yearning for your children
lost between that which they have attained and that
which they could not obtain.
We clamor and you smile; we flit but you stay!
We extract your elements to make cannons and bombs,
but out of our elements you create lilies and roses.

Kahlil Gibran

Entrusting My Soldier to You

, , , ...

Dear Father, can you hear me?
As I come to You tonight…
In need of You to wipe my tears
And comfort all my fright ~
Life seems so safe for me
With four sturdy walls to call my home…
While our soldiers fight this battle
Out there on their own ~
We sit here with endless prayers
For their health and protection…
Living off the memories
Of their love and affection ~
In pictures, we see their faces
Standing proud and tall…
Full of strength and spirit
Ready to give their all ~
Oh, Father, how I ask of You
For Your angels from above…
To silently fly with them
With the presence of Your love ~
And when they feel lonely
Staring at pictures – torn, tattered, and old…
Let them find peace in the memories
Of the ones they long to hold ~
The months are many till their return
And so, until then –
I’m entrusting my soldier to You, Father
With all my love ~ Amen.

When My Mind is Still

, , ,

When My Mind is Still

When my mind is still and alone with the beating of my heart,
I remember things too easily forgotten:
The purity of early love,
The maturity of unselfish love that asks --
desires -- nothing but another's good,
The idealism that has persisted through all the tempest of life.

When my mind is still and alone with the beating of my heart,
I can find a quiet assurance, an inner peace, in the core of my being.
It can face the doubt, the loneliness, the anxiety,
Can accept these harsh realities and can even grow
Because of these challenges to my essential being.

When my mind is still and alone with the beating of my heart,
I can sense my basic humanity,
And then I know that all men and women are my brothers and sisters.
Nothing but my own fear and distrust can separate me from the love of friends.
If I can trust others, accept them, enjoy them,
Then my life shall surely be richer and more full.
If I can accept others, this will help them to be more truly themselves,
And they will be more able to accept me.

When my mind is still and alone with the beating of my heart,
I know how much life has given me:
The history of the race, friends and family,
The opportunity to work, the chance to build myself.
Then wells within me the urge to live more abundantly,
With greater trust and joy,
With more profound seriousness and earnest service,
And yet more calmly at the heart of life.
