The army parade

Well when I noticed that today's evening party with Emirates is out of the question for me (since I would arrive at the time when everybody leaves) I decided to go home. And then I remmembered that there is this huge army and police parade near my home. So... I went there, bought a bagete and then watched.
And I was amazed. By several things:

a) we obviously don't have a lot of experience with things as army parades. Which is understandable, true and we won't change it other way than making these things. So sometimes it was funny to hear the noise and quick orders to stop units bumping into each other or getting to far away from each other...

b) there was several hundred people watching and enjoying but when the Czech hymn started playing, suddenly it was all quiet. I don't know why I doubted that these people would stay noiseless for that time but they did and it was beautiful. Right next to me was a man with broken leg sitting in a wheelchair and he decided to stand up. It was painful and his wife tried to stop him but he was standing all the time of the hymn.
Thank you, people. Thank you that you showed me that we may yet recover the respect for our nation and it's symbols.

c) Czech army, Czech police and Czech rescue system has made a huge progress. It's not that long since our armys tank weren't working, since our police didn't have cars and firefighters didn't have vehicles that wouldn't be older than 30 years. I saw today that it changed. There is still a lot of work to do but the army looked beautiful, profesional. The police had new, fast and shiny cars (even a snow scooter, ship and a diver) and rescue service had a whole new truck (no idea for what but they have it).

d) I was so supriced how incompetent some of the hired people can be. I was all the time standing next to three guys. Their only job was to protect a small corridor so people wouldn't walk right in the way of the approaching tanks. And they FAILED THREE TIMES in TWO HOURS! All the time laughing like idiots, talking about shit that made my ears bleed these cretins took money for doing shit. OK, not everybody has to be a genius but these guys were just a joke.

All and all I would give it 6/10 objectivly and 10/10 subjectivly. We need more of this. And we need it desperately. I doubt that anybody of the crowd went home today without the believe that somebody out there is prepared to save our lives whether against crime, illness or enemy forces.

Never before I think we failed so much before. We vote for people who have been lying, making our politics shit and were known by hundreds of scandals.

Možná byste také chtěli podepsat petici proti návrhu novely občanského zákoníku - týká se to především zrušení církevních sňatků, ale rovněž úprav navrhovaných pro sňatky civilní.
