Spore Creature Creator
Thursday, 19. June 2008, 12:07:06
Game: Spore Creature Creator
Platform: Computer [Mac/Windows]
Publisher: EA, Maxis
Release: Out Now
Rating: E (US) G (AU)
Players: 1
Most Maxis fans would have heard of Spore, the latest release by Will Write creator of the Sims and other various titles. Creature creator gives players a taste of what's to come as well as a fun way to release their creativity. A free demo is available online although it only features around 25% of the available parts. The creature design is a great success in both functionality and ease of use it allows younger or inexperienced players to easily create something which is effective whilst still allowing a wide range of possibilities for the more experienced creature creators.
I recommend downloading the trial version [~200MB] from the EA site to get a first on feel for what I’m trying to explain. In the few short days since its release, thousands of user made creatures have been uploaded into the openly available spore database. So go ahead unleash your inner creator and enter the world of SPORE.
Final Verdict: 8/10
[Update 22/6]:
Just a note to all Aussie gamers that at this point the game is NOT avaliable for purchase in the EA store but should soon be. Also here are some quick photos of my creations just to give you an idea of what's possible.
