Swap that Shiznit! Part 2

Yesterday was the much anticipated (well, for me anyways) Swapping Mall! I really thought it was going to be bigger, with more stuff to choose from, but i did manage to find the following things (and they are great, cos they were freeee!) I propose a swapping mall every few months! Its dangerous though, because you take all the crap that you dont need, but you may end up coming home with more junk since that feeling of getting stuff for free just takes over and then it's all downhill from there! lol

I got a tag and this neato boyfriend shirt.

Then i found this cute cupcake kitchen timer and oven gloves yes Awesome, because our oven glove (yes, the ONE that we have) looks like it's been mangled by a hungry little bear.

Then i got this beautiful little hair accessory, made by one of my friends (the one that was doing the recycling workshop). It's made from milk bottle plastic and an old map. Oh and then i spent real money somewhere else and got H these pencils that look like drumsticks.

At the end, when you were checking out, they gave you a receipt that just had a bunch of zeros on it (i framed it lol) - BEST SHOPPING EVER!

Swap that Shiznit!

So on the weekend, one of the banks here, Capitec, is having a swapping mall party What pray tell is a swapping mall? you may ask. Well, i shall tell you. Basically you take a couple of items that you'd like to swap, they give you how much they think it's worth, you get little token things, and then you can swap for the same amount (eg if you gave in something worth R10, you can swap for something worth R10). So it's pretty much a free-for-all-fest and we all know, if it's free, it's for me! yes Here are some of the items i'm going to be swapping (well excluding the first lots of earrings, they're too pretty to give away!)

And then i also have a model car of a 1955 Ford something or other and a bright orange beaded cushion. It's amazing that once you start looking for things you don't actually need/use anymore, you find lots! One of my friends is going to be giving a workshop at the event as she makes amazing lamps out of milk bottles and other recyclable stuffies.

Speaking of finds, i found this while rummaging through the garage (and being petrified that a rat might jump on my head)... This awesome handkerchief/glove holder filled with old, OLD photos of my family (can't believe it was in the garage!!) I have no idea who the majority of these people are though, which is a shame. Perhaps my gran's sister will know, she seems to know a lot about the family.

How dashing was my grandfather in his tiny swimsuit! lol
