It's been over a year!

, , , ...

Woah. I always want to blog, but I never seem to get around to it. Well a whole freaking bunch has happened in that year. In January I turned 21 woo! Too bad I don't drink, but now I can get into places I couldn't before? I don't know. In March for spring break, my boyfriend, my roommate, and her boyfriend (now fiance) went on a road trip up through georgia, SC, NC, tennessee, Virginia, and finally landing in DC. We did some hiking in the Smokey Mountains and it was really beautiful. I liked DC too, I hadn't been there since I was really little, so it was neat to see it from an older point of view. It was also my first real trip without any family members, and my first time seeing snow, so it was quite the eventful trip. I also road on what would be my first ever and first out of 3 subway systems this year.

I had a fun summer taking classes over Summer A. I took Spanish and Computers as Medium (a basic intro class to photoshop, flash, etc that counted as an upperclass elective lol. woo!). So it was a busy, but relaxing summer.

Towards the end of summer A, my friend and I managed to plan a spontaneous trip to London, England. It was seriously no more than a month from when we decided we were going to when we were on a British Airways flight to London. Sooooo badass of us. We got there on July 1st. We stayed on High Street Kensington and toured the city (open-top tourist bus style, yea!) saw Avenue Q at a West End theatre, ate at a McDonald's where a lot of things were different, frequented a Tesco for late night snacks, took a day trip on the 4th of July out to Bath and Stonehenge and Windsor Castle (which I LOVE), went to the Mighty Boosh festival on the 5th, followed by a relaxing day at Madame Tussauds on Sunday. Um.. the Mighty Boosh festival: amazing! It was so fun having something like that to go to. We became HUGE fans of the boosh from downloading their episodes (which we made up for, by buying the real DVD's at an HMV) and just couldn't believe we actually got to see them live. I wish we could go to an actual live show, but the festival was amazing with the music acts, comedians, and full-length versions of songs. We made sure we were pretty much front row smile. We almost got stranded out in Kent, though. We thought we would have to sleep at the train station, but luckily a coach bus back to London was letting people on for £20 cash. How freakin lucky did we get? If we hadn't been standing there at that exact moment, our already borderline panic was going to explode. I fell so much in love with London and the parts of England I saw. I still can't stop thinking about what an amazing trip that was. One day when I'm rich and famouse, I'll have a residence there.

After I got back, I spent some relaxing time at home in Miami with my parents and dog! My brother and sister-in-law got a new house, it's adorable, and we like to drop by often. I hung out with some miami friends who either live there, or were home from college too. I went to New York at the end of July with my parents for the weekend. It was a lot of fun! I've always loved broadway shows, but hadn't really seen any since before Avenue Q (other than movies and high school/college versions) and so we saw the Lion King, Phantom of the Opera, and WICKED! In that weekend. I love love love New York and the energy it has. Everything is open soooo late (and I'm from Miami, where things are open late as it is, but that's nothing compared to NY). I rode the subway there making it my 3rd underground transportation experience this year! We had an interesting experience where my dad and I quickly hopped off an express train and my Mom didn't get off quite so quickly and we saw the doors close on her and her ride off to some random place in New York. I thought it was funny and I wasn't too worried. I luckily had seen her train number so my Dad and I after a few failed attempts at calling her got on the next train with that number and found her right after we got off. It was scary and funny and makes a good story.

Then I came back up to Orlando for a couple of weeks and finished the Twilight series (amazing as well, and cannot wait for the movie!), got an internship at my university's tv station and started class. I have a horrible class that's supposed to be an intro to things like PHP and MySQL, but I just cannot seem to do well. I just pray that I get a C, I do not want to have to take it over. It's so horrible. I can't wait until December when it will be over. I have such a neat schedule for next spring and then I graduate, I just can't ruin that because of this crap of a class. I'm sure I'll get a C. I am so sick thinking about tomorrow, when I get assigned my next assignment. I'm going to start it right away. AKA I will have no life until December. I am so sad it took failing the midterm to realize I need to whip myself into shape. Success has come natural to me in every other class, but this yuckiness.

I walked the Susan G. Komen for the cure this weekend. I went home to Miami. It was so fun. I love getting all the free pink stuff (pink in it's cause, and color!). Last weekend was my nephew's first Disney trip and my whole family met up in Orlando. It was soooooo fun. And I was really glad Alex could take part in all of those activities. He's an amazing boyfriend and I'm lucky to have him. We celebrated 3 years in Sept. We love Disney. We are Disney people. I want to live in Orlando my whole life if not to work for Disney, to be a passholder. I can't wait until they put up their Christmas decorations. I'm glad my 3 year old nephew (alex and i started dating 3 days after he was born:)) loved Disney too. It was tooooo cute!

Ok, I think my Opera blog is pretty much caught up with my life, so I should really go to sleep now, if I want to have the energy for internship 9-5 (video editing, yay!) and class (the yucky one) 6-9 tomorrow. But, Alex and I will go to Moe's for dinner (both of us have the crazy 9-9 schedules on mondays so cooking is out of the question) and that always makes Monday's somewhat ok. Otherwise they would really be the pits! I think I will wear my Warriors in Pink headscarf tomorrow.

So to end the longest blog entry in the history of blogging,

Hostess 100 calorie snack packs

I bought these things just to try. I thought they might be a waste of calories, but I was wrong. They are delicious. I was pleasantly surprised because in my head I had been calculating them as 2 weight watchers points (I'm not currently on WW but I've been assigning points for over 8 years so its just a habit for me to try to figure the points value for everything). Since two is kind of small and they have a significant amount of fat, I thought maybe they would be 3 so I had my "pointsfinder" at hand and calculated it and it turns out they are ONE point. Oh my. I will definately be buying these again. And you get three mini cakes that taste delicious. They are much more satisfying than the tiny WW cake bites that go for one point as well. Ok I better get some work done because I'm kind of just procrastinating.
