In case you missed the biggest scandal of recent days:
New camel for French president"Mali is to send the French president a replacement camel after the first, given to him as a gift, was eaten."

question, toilet, habits
Right, if you're still reading, you are presumably willing to engage with this subject, so big points to you.
I read many years ago that here in the UK, the majority of people fold their toilet paper when wiping. In the USA, apparently the most common method is "scrunching". I'm definitely a folder and in fact can't even imagine how scrunching might work - seems guaranteed to be messy.
Recently the manufacturer
Andrex began an advertising campaign asking whether the viewer is a folder or scruncher, so perhaps things are changing. Certainly it seems like the topic is less of a taboo.
I would like to pose two questions to you.
-
Have you ever done a poo in the toilets at work? Pretty sure I haven't.
- For men only: when peeing into a standard sit-down toilet bowl (rather than a urinal), where do you aim? My father goes noisily for the water at the bottom, while I try to quietly find a low-splash angle in off the porcelain.
Thanks!

Health, gadgets
Ooh, choices!
Similar names but different usage. Both are obviously ambidextrous, though I might not be too good 'writing' with my right hand, even though I can use a traditional mouse equally well with either hand.
Maybe the "
Penclic" will allow me almost to work like having a graphics tablet, plus it has more buttons. The "
Penguin" is cute, probably more comfortable over long periods and also slightly cheaper.
Anybody got any advice?

radio, lyrics
I've mentioned the office radio before. Bad music, on repeat, all damn day.
One recent song, which I've only just identified (because normally I don't care) turns out to be
"Sweet Nothing" by Calvin Harris featuring Florence Welch.
Actually a pretty enjoyable tune, but can't make out many of the words. I didn't know the title of the song until I looked it up, but the reason I did was because I had been baffled for weeks about why she was singing "I'm living on sexy therapy"...
Seems to me that the actual lyrics don't quite scan and my misheard ones are better. You listenin' Calvin?

Taken from the Wikipedia page on
Greg Maddux:
On July 22, 1997, Maddux threw a complete game with just 76 pitches, against the Cubs. Three weeks earlier, he had shut out the defending champion New York Yankees on 84 pitches, and five days before that, he'd beaten the Phillies with a 90-pitch complete game. Maddux allowed just 20 bases on balls in 1997, including six intentional walks. Ignoring those six intentional walks, Maddux only went to a 3-0 count on one batter in all of 1997.
That last sentence is virtually beyond belief.
I miss live baseball on free-to-air TV over here. For the record, I'm a
Mariners fan.
Oh, and while finding that last link, I noticed that the Astros have apparently switched into the AL West for 2013??? Wow. Sensible for balancing the leagues, but wow.
