Politically Incorrect: Low cost F1

Polotically Incorrect

I personally think the new cars are cute.

BTW: Congratulation to Brawn GP for a fairytale F1 debut.

Metal-shop

I have been really busy for the past week or so. But I did some really awesome stuff too. I learnt how to weld!

This one took a lot of time and effort, mainly because I had to file the surfaces first.

The face weld was much easier. I even hammered my initials on them.

I used a smith's furnace. Actually I just flipped the "on" switch. It was too hot to go near. P:

And this is why boys and girls, you should not run around with scissors! (Or a hacksaw)

I leave you with some mathematics.

My Junkbox

,

This is my junkbox. Its full of electronic components which I have salvaged, bought, stolen :left:, ripped off, broken or created.

I took a trip to Lamington road yesterday to make some additions to it. Lamington road is basically a tech lovers paradise. Dickens describes London as "streets lined with Gold" in Oliver Twist. Lamington road find apt description in "streets lined with Hard drives".

I mainly went there to buy an Amtel Mega8. But ended up buying a whole load of other stuff too! The goof at the counter somehow messed up a part of my order though. I had asked for 74HC245 and he packed me a pair of 74HC574's. In his defence, the numbers *are* really hard to read. I also had to upscale to a mega16 because they ran out of mega8's

Anyway, This now is my re-organized and cleaned up Junkbox.

Apricots Anyone?

Shaunak De

I'm a tad miffed with the new MyOpera release, Apricot.

I dont like the direction everything is headed in general. Its going from a bloging platform and to a social network.

On a positive note:
* The new flash up-loader is good, but it doesn't add any additional functionality to the classic up-loader.
* The subtle changes like the new buttons and icons are probably the best ones.

Politically Incorrect: Howzthat

The Sri Lankan national cricket team was attacked by armed gunmen today. Up to 12 gunmen attacked the team's convoy near the Gaddafi stadium with rockets, hand grenades and automatic weapons. The team had to be eventually air lifted out in military choppers.

Six members of the Sri Lankan team, including the coach, have been reportedly injured and five security personnel were killed in the assault.

The militants escaped after a 25 minute gun battle with the police.

This is a sad day for cricket, and sport in general. :frown:
