Its Diwali, and its the festival of lights. But capturing lights, especially near point sources and making them look interesting can be a bit of a challenge. One nifty trick to make point sources like decorative lights and tiny lamps more interesting is to make them appear like point sources. Fo ...

But this is my way of ousting my thoughts, and feelings.
It is unfortunate that we live in a world where people will fight tooth and nail for tiny tracts of land.

The Hamas are wrong to launch 200 odd rockets every night during "ceasefire".
And the Israelis are wrong, for the "collateral damage" they are causing.

Though I cannot approve of things happening Now, I can understand the still existing and vivid opposition of those whose land has been robbed or whose borders have once again been redrawn.

For example mine was born with the help of the French against the Austrians, the american "revolution" that lead to the indipendence from England was supported by France as well. North Vietnam was supported by China and Russia while South Vietnam was supported by US. Want to speak about Cuba?
Etc, etc, etc...
Right now Israel gets help from US while Hamas, Hetzbollah, etc are armed by Iran, Syria and so on. I guess in the past they were also financed by Saudi Arabia etc.
On a side note:
The Jews took Israel from the original inhabitants with war, the name of Palestine was given to the region by the Romans after they subjugated the Jews and it remained under the roman empire (and formally christian) till the arab invasion following the arab-bizantine wars from about 700AC to 1100AC. After that there were the crusades which were originally intended to re-gain control of the former bizantine territories.
Nothing new.

There is no need to climb on a high horse.
And you got the Palestinian point, I noticed.

Israel/Palestine is not Africa, it is Asia.
I tried to explain that the region was dominated by many different powers through ages. You go looking on Wikipedia about history of Palestine. The present situation isn't new at all.

Its just that the weapons have changed, the magnitude of damage has changed our perspective on war itself has changed. Its gone from a thing of valor and nationalistic pride to something undesirable and unwanted.

I don't think "Aggressive nationalism" is a good thing. Most countries engage in propaganda (self adulation), if they didn't there would not be any people wanting to serve in the armed forces. Idealistically individuals should have the freedom to live in peace wherever they choose.
I have to wonder if this attack on Gaza by Israel is opportunistic, what with the US sitting on the fence whilst in Presidential limbo.
