Its a sad day when society needs protection from its protectors. Policemen in Gujarat, India shot three innocent, young, defenseless people dead, in cold blood . All to win a promotion from the CM. How ...
The good news first, its cheaper than the previous versions of Windows and you can update from Windows XP to Win 7 without having to buy a full retail version. Computers running a version of Windows that predates Windows XP will have to purchase a full version ...
Wordpress comes with a intuitive What You See is What You Get [WYSIWYG] input area for creating posts. This makes it really easy for users to format their posts, with little or no knowledge of HTML. Current versions of Drupal unfortunately lack such an arrangem ...
What do you do when you don't like a gift? Apparently if you are an MP, and a self appointed upholder of Indian culture, you rudely return it. Very classy. Read all about it: http://bit.ly/zp979 With a $ ...
Mimicry is said to be the best form of flattery. But you cant be too pleased with it if it causes you a loss of revenue. Riding on twitter's phenomenal success and their own recent lack of it, Yahoo has launched its 'adaptation' of it and christened it, Meme. ...

But this is my way of ousting my thoughts, and feelings.
It is unfortunate that we live in a world where people will fight tooth and nail for tiny tracts of land.

The Hamas are wrong to launch 200 odd rockets every night during "ceasefire".
And the Israelis are wrong, for the "collateral damage" they are causing.

Though I cannot approve of things happening Now, I can understand the still existing and vivid opposition of those whose land has been robbed or whose borders have once again been redrawn.

For example mine was born with the help of the French against the Austrians, the american "revolution" that lead to the indipendence from England was supported by France as well. North Vietnam was supported by China and Russia while South Vietnam was supported by US. Want to speak about Cuba?
Etc, etc, etc...
Right now Israel gets help from US while Hamas, Hetzbollah, etc are armed by Iran, Syria and so on. I guess in the past they were also financed by Saudi Arabia etc.
On a side note:
The Jews took Israel from the original inhabitants with war, the name of Palestine was given to the region by the Romans after they subjugated the Jews and it remained under the roman empire (and formally christian) till the arab invasion following the arab-bizantine wars from about 700AC to 1100AC. After that there were the crusades which were originally intended to re-gain control of the former bizantine territories.
Nothing new.

There is no need to climb on a high horse.
And you got the Palestinian point, I noticed.
Lorenzo Celsi # 10. January 2009, 09:36
Israel/Palestine is not Africa, it is Asia.
I tried to explain that the region was dominated by many different powers through ages. You go looking on Wikipedia about history of Palestine. The present situation isn't new at all.

Its just that the weapons have changed, the magnitude of damage has changed our perspective on war itself has changed. Its gone from a thing of valor and nationalistic pride to something undesirable and unwanted.
Anonymous # 10. January 2009, 17:08
The point of war is peace. The point of peace is not harmony, but to prevent war. People will continue fighting due the conflict of self-interests. We all try to convince people to live for themselves, but when their goals in life are obstructed by somebody else's there is little choice save or conflict.
This will go on, and on and on. Aggressive Nationalism is another thing I noticed, I somehow still feel this runs deep through everyone's veins, Somebody needs to flush it all out.
Brian # 13. January 2009, 07:23
I don't think "Aggressive nationalism" is a good thing. Most countries engage in propaganda (self adulation), if they didn't there would not be any people wanting to serve in the armed forces. Idealistically individuals should have the freedom to live in peace wherever they choose.
I have to wonder if this attack on Gaza by Israel is opportunistic, what with the US sitting on the fence whilst in Presidential limbo.
