Here in England, we get automated annoucements saying that the rail services are "sorry" (if it's 10 minutes late") or "very sorry" (if it's 30 minutes late) or even that "we're extremely sorry" (if it's cancelled). It sounds so strange to hear a generated voice apologising, almost as bad as your computer suddenly speaking to you. At least your guy in the cartoon is honest...sort of!

At least the train didn't derail like an Amtrak unit did here years ago, killing many people. The derailment (I won't call it an accident) was caused by the track owner, CSX Railroad, cost cutting on safety. The taxpayers paid the entire bill. It's an example of the usual sickening government/corporate sweetheart deals.

The worst part of such deals, is the levels of corruption they generate...:left:

@ Adele: At least they apologise...P:.
Automated announcements here run like, "Train no XYZ has been cancelled. Inconvenience is regretted. Have a pleasant day."
How exactly are you supposed to have a pleasant day after the hoopla, that, they wont tell you. :D

Someone should hack the automated announcements to make them brutally honest and MUCH more fun.

That'll be the day:

"Good Morning. We really don't care about your comfort and safety. It doesn't really matter to us if you don't reach work on time. All we care is for your money. So make sure you have bought a ticket."

I'd actually find a streak of profanity refreshing. :D
