My Drupal Theme

, ,

I have been working on a custom drupal theme for the past few days. Its about 80% ready, so I thought I'd just preveiw it and get some vauable feedback and reveiws.

Here is the screenshot:

The menu-bar is still under construction, plus I need to write some PHP for embedding views. The whole thing was made using GIMP, Notepad++, and Opera Dragonfly. It cost me about 8 hours of sleep to create. I will post the final version here, as soon as I finish it.

I also discovered one very shocking thing while making this theme. Google chrome does NOT support the CSS text-shadow property. I also installed IE8. Its quite smooth actually. I would give a small thumbs up to the very under appriciated developers at Redmond. Atleast they dont go ahead and mutate CSS specifications. :yikes:

Any feedback is very much appriciated.

The top banner is jaw-droppingly nice! Simple and elegant. Yummy looking in a way. I could go on. I wanna one!

The top banner is all thanks to some mindblowing GIMP brushes by: ~hawksmont

An analogy would be a sea-foam green Jaguar I saw in a parking lot one time. It was understated, simple, elegant, classy. The more I looked at the car, the more I liked it. The lines, trim, colors, wheels, everything, were so simple and subtle. Not flashy, like "look at me!", or "I have money!", it was just a beautiful car. You might walk right by it and miss it, but if you got one look, it would start to work on ya. Those English have made some gorgeous cars.

Now, back to the Drupal! hehe

I agree. Love the banner. Wish I knew more, most of what you said jumped over my head. I'd love some black inky flowy graphics for my banner, in place of the waterfall. Or maybe more, like yours is. Love that style.

A clean and slick theme and look.

I just clicked on the image and was struck by the yellow menu bar and red fonts hehe, then I read the rest of your entry.

I thought that was a vector graphic? Well I know the Gimp can handle them.
If you like more about vector graphics, here's a nice place, with some tutorials for illustrator but I think the style will appeal to you. Also, I like to promote a fellow countryman's work
