Its election season (more aptly, silly season) here in India. This April-May one billion people make their voices heard. Nation wide polls will decide the composition of the 539 seats of the next Lok Sabha (house of commons); the fifteenth in 59 years of existance as a democracy.

Elections will be held on the 15th and 30th of April. (Check local listings or call your cable operator election commision :D)

Let the dance of democracy begin!

But it's such a rare phenomenon.

Well if you feel like it, you can join the dance here, in June, lol.
It proceeds prom night so that's gonna big one big party weekend p:

All big ( read: impopular) decisions have been postponed to the post-election period.
I've seen that trick applied in Kintergarten, I didn't buy it then and I'm not about to change my attitude today.

Naah, don't really think so. We have our own dances.

Adele 13. April 2009, 08:12

Excellent cartoon...and, sigh, we have our own "silly season" to look forward to here next year

I was listening to a news report last night about the elections in India; actually the upcoming on the 30th.

There was a woman speaking, sorry I don't recall her name but she has organized a large group to try to keep the criminals out. It was a fascinating discussion they had about the reasons why people vote in the crooks.

The bottom line came down to money. Elections were bought and paid for. I find it hard to believe, but then I also don't know the whole story.

Your post as usual ---very interesting, as always, the cartoon with a message. Keep it up, friend!
