shaunak.ws

Its a sad day when society needs protection from its protectors.

Policemen in Gujarat, India shot three innocent, young, defenseless people dead, in cold blood. All to win a promotion from the CM. How simply disgusting is that?

How terrible :frown:

Policemen out of control on whatever scale are a terrifying, terrifying prospect.

You know, there aren't many Nobel Prize among policemen...

Shocking news. Makes one think of police protection. There's been voices in the past, of course those were categorised subversive lefties.
Shit, what a way to lose your kid, parent, relative or partner.

Yes but the original poem was about cheating wives. It said something like "you can lock your wife and put guards but who will guard the guards? she will start from them".

Getting a promotion is also why it is often very bad to have to tangle with the criminal justice system, even if innocent. People retain jobs and/or get promotions by getting convictions. Convicting the correct person sometimes comes secondary.

Getting a promotion is why it is bad to have to tangle with people in general, you go to the bank and say you have got some money to invest, see what happens. How many jobs give you a reward depending on people you have screwed?

The problem with policemen is they often aren't much different from criminals, there is a thin line, maybe because like they say in Italy, "who goes with the lame learns to limp" (hopefully the translation makes sense).

Sad.

The only word I can use, society is screwed, when you need protection from the protectors.

Lorenso, I think the english expression, "if you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas!" is something similar in meaning to the one you gave..
