MACHINES, HUMAN SPARE PARTS- A CASE OF INNOVATION IN TECHNOLOGY
Thursday, September 10, 2009 7:11:54 PM

THE GENERAL use of scientific knowledge for practical purpose is technological. It is usually seen in actual marchines or industry. Innovation in technology simply refers to the introduction of new ideas or methods in the manufacturing and production of machines with special effects and much needed enhancement born out of empirical evidence to replace the already to a better model as the case may be.Many years ago, the world was primitive. Industrial revolution had not been envisaged. Man lived like wild animal until the advent of civilisation. Mode of transportation was by riding on animal back or carts or chariots for the higher class or kings. Writing and painting was done on clay moulding or carved on stone.
The discovery of metal changed the initial technology of man as industrial machines were manufactured to replace the initial impliments improvised with wood and stone by the early men.
The industrial revolution witnessed quality innovation in technology as a resulte of scientific research. Scientist were able to manufacture machines powered by fossil fuels, oil, natural gas, wind, atomic energy, geothemal energy, water, hydrogen and fuel-cell energy. The scientific discovery of these fuels fuels opened avenue for the manufacture of heavy duty industrial machines, vehicles, cars, air crafts, ships, etc.
On the other hand, the use these fuels generates almost one third of all the world's carbon dioxide which leads to global warming and air pollution which kills more than 50,000 people a year in the globe.
Recent innovation in computer tech. has made the world a global village. Email, instant messages, digital phone calls and fax machines have made information dissemination fast and easy.
The medical technology experienced quality innovations. Scientist came up vaccines and drugs for prevention and cure of diseases that defied orthodox medicine in the past. Computerised xray and scanner marchines are available to make diagnosis and cure more accurate. Scientist are capable of regenerative medicine. It has become possible to remove (human embryonic) stem cell from the blastocyst and maintain them in an undeferentiated state in a cell culture line in the laboratory. This is to say that medical technological innovation have reached the stage of producing "Human spare parts."
The Opera Browser is a typical example of high tech. computer technology. The innovative minds of Opera resource persons in the software division introduced the Opera mini which huge percentage of data compression which made possible the use of mobile phones for browsing. The Opera browser also recently updated its features by adding the tools menu with interactive and speed dial buttons for a faster and easier surfing of the web pages. To me, my.opera is the best browser in the world.

mr.Webolution, yours is a great one too. You are aware that the Bible preaches the word of God as was written by inspired writters of ancient world. All the professies therein had happened accept how life will be in the new paradise.
One day scientists will make the mass production of human spare parts a possibility. Water may completly take over from fossil fuel, hydrogen ,....etc
i. e webolution in action.
