You cannot be recruited as a soldier if you were deaf because instructors would want you to pay attention to many important things. The consequences you would get if you went to war with deaf ears would be fatal. This is exactly the same in the spiritual realm. You cannot overcome the devil's temptation of if your ears are deaf. You need to open your ears to the instructions of Jesus if you are to overcome forces of evil. Information, knowledge and wisdom are keys for victory over temptations.
1. INFORMATION
Information according to the dictionary is gained or given, its news recieved.
Well-trained and disciplined soldiers can never start off on the road to fight without adquate information about their enemies. The information they get before hand determines to a great extent their success in plans and skills of war. If they decided to fight with less or no information, it would not be long before the enemies identified their weakness for attack.
Information is the key to every success in war. No matter how big and skilled the soldiers may be, they can never outwit their enemies who have collected enough information on them. As a christian, you need to take a picture of a soldier if you are to fight successfully against the devil and demons. You will never overcome temptations if you have very little information about the tempter himself. Your knowledge about the devil and demons determines your success or failures as a christian.
The information you need to know is this, if you were just about to fight someone and suddenly you receive a report that actually that someone you were about to fight with, someone else had fought and rendered useless that person own your behalf, how would you feel? Of course you would be happy and releaved. This is exactly what Jesus has done to the devil. He has not only made the devil useless, but also given you the authority to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you, Luke 10:19
