2.0

There would be two variants - one single-layered, intended for an SB Live card (and possibly for non-Creative/software synths).
The second (main) variant would be aimed at Audigy 2.
A version 2.0 of the bank might appear in the future. It's a somewhat ghostly "might" at this time, however...
There would be two variants - one single-layered, intended for an SB Live card (and possibly for non-Creative/software synths).
The second (main) variant would be aimed at Audigy 2.
It is bound to receive new, original instruments synthesised from scratch with the Reason 3 analogue synth modules and other analogue-emulation synths (Arturia/Wavecraft/etc.). It would also receive instruments based on some samples which have been lying around in storage for years (smoother, gentler synthesised strings, etc.).
If Audigy 2 allows it, there might even be 24-bit samples.
Depending on the Audigy 2 limitations, there would be multilayered instruments, with the cross-delayed multi-layered guitars making it back to the bank.
Target size would be around 96/128 megabytes, much less for the SB Live version (aiming to fit in the 32-Mb playback limitation, a realistic estimate is 72 megabytes).
Finally, Silverspring 1.5 really was not meant for wide public release - it was uploaded in a somewhat half-baked state. It did have shortcomings (wrong attenuation here and there, instruments sounding off-key at times). Silverspring the bank never was a "general-purpose" bank as such, it was a byproduct - a bank capable of playing back Heretic/Hexen/Doom MIDI scores in quality as close to "big synth" CD Audio as possible with free instruments/samples as of 2002.
