Peter Malna writes: Thanks man, this program is exactly what i was looking for. I've been using a cracked version of the tournament director but that's just a nightmare to configure. With your software we were playing poker in two minutes. No nagging about players, tables, buyins or players whatsoever. Thanks again mate.

I have uninstalled and re installed java and this is not helping. I have a big tournament coming up in 2 days. Can you help. I also tried to uninstall the tournament director but it tells me that it is unable to completely uninstall the program. thanks

KrankSoftSimpleTournamentDirector Tuesday, May 20, 2008 11:01:24 AM

I'm sorry about all this but it seems that my.opera.com has added some restrictions to it's site which makes it impossible for Java Web Start to download the needed files from the server.

I will find a solution for this later this evening. It probably involves setting up my own webserver to host the files and I'm hoping to have it fixed by friday.

Again I'm very sorry about all the trouble caused by this.

KrankSoftSimpleTournamentDirector Monday, June 23, 2008 4:00:21 PM

I'm sorry but you can't run the program on Opera Mini.

Simple Tournament Director requires a full Java 6 runtime environment while cellphones have a shrinked version(j2me) of Java.

I'm working on a version for j2me but this will probably take some time to complete as I have a lot to do these days.

KrankSoftSimpleTournamentDirector Tuesday, August 5, 2008 9:57:23 AM

You only have to be online when downloading the application for the first time.

Voice should work out of the box but you have to enable it. Do that by clicking the Preferences button in the level editor.

Just tell me, do you plan to manage multi table, with names of participants ? Random place around the table, etc. It will be great, but don't worry, it's already very good.

KrankSoftSimpleTournamentDirector Monday, September 1, 2008 10:01:08 AM

I do plan to add extra functionallity like table and player management, but I can't say how long it will take to complete.

I'll upload a version which forces fullscreen for you. I can't guarantee the behavior but you can try it out(I would test it before you announce "shuffle up and deal"). The file is 7 MB. Unzip it in your homedir or something and run it with the command:

java -jar SimpleTournamentDirector.jar
.

For your eyes only:

IansSTD.zip

Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.

dave writes: Great program, works very well. Any chance you could add a female voice and /or others? Thanks

KrankSoftSimpleTournamentDirector Wednesday, September 17, 2008 10:08:06 AM

As of now there is only a male voice, but I plan to rewrite the TTS(text to speech) engine, moving it from the public domain to a limited domain. Public domain basically means that the engine will try to speak everything you throw at it, while in the limited domain you have a more narrow set of words and sentences allowing me to use my own beautiful voice. This will increase the quality of the voice by tenfolds.

This does not have a high priority as I do have several other todos which are way more important. One of them actually relates to a weird and scary sound in my car cry

New version in the making which will make it a lot more usable.

It will probably be released next week.

greenkayak Tuesday, November 4, 2008 5:58:39 PM

Thanks for creating and sharing the software.

With the new update last night, I experienced a problem with the blinds not working. When hitting the Next Level button, the clock forwards but the blinds do not change.

And it seems to want to update each time I start it now, even though it has updated 5 times now.

I am not sure if the above problems are just isolated to myself and something I need to figure out on my Lenovo T60 (XP) or something others are experiencing also. Thought I would pass it along and give you a heads up.

Thanks again for the great program.

KrankSoftSimpleTournamentDirector Wednesday, November 5, 2008 11:23:09 PM

Thanks mate. I see the problem. It's related to the voice functionality. For now just turn off voice and I'll get working on the bug right away.

As for the software updating each time you run it just try to uninstall and run it again from the webpage. Your settings will still be there.

Also check your homedir and delete both the VoiceEngine.zip file and the folder VoiceEngine if it's there. On xp it should be c:\documents and settings\username. Linux /home/username.

Awesome, I never heard that this software roams the net. It's really easy to set up a Poker tournament if you have this program. Maybe, the great catch with this software was that it's free. Well, there's only one thing to find out if this program does what it was made for. More power to the developers.wink
