It's been a while since I posted anything here... And for those that know me personally... Forgive me for not writing d tins dat matters.... Na time constraint tins. I promise soon you'll all get d juicy tech talk I've been keeping in d freezer...

Wine for android is past the development phase. I know someone is already visualising Don Simon app for dem phone or tablet... WAKE UP! It's technology not babalawo incorporated; It's WINdows Emulation we talking about! Originally made for Linux distros, it is an open source application that allows applications designed for Windows to run on Unix operating systems such as Linux (there are also ports to OS X, FreeBSD, and Solaris) The reason why wine for android is a possibility is because android OS kernel is linux based... Just rewritten in java and optimised for mobile use. This means that Alexandre Julliard is gonna have his hands full for a while. He gave a demo of the app at the 2013 Free and Open source Software Developers' European Meeting. It ran a windows app... But was not what you'd want to use just yet in respect to running speed: it was sluggish... But then who say d tin easy? It was running on an android emulator at the time of the demonstration which would slow down almost any app response speed. Hopefully speed'll be one of his Primary Fixes. If Alex succeeds in pulling this off, it could be indicative of another nail in the coffin in the grave of laptop sales which hasn't been as high as previous years... Windows tablets ain't cheap... Wine is a source of hope for some of us that still have to drag a laptop around because there's no android app for one thing or the other due to it's age, relative obscurity and or rarity.
Mobile operating systems are standing in for pc apps especially as mobile processing power and RAM is on the increase in newer phones and tablets.... Laptops are gonna increase their dust gathering abilities as time goes by... And time flies real FAST nowadays.
