I've started to upload the musical history of D.J Nash (AKA Sir Jeff, Sir Cactus, Jeff, Rita, Dwayne, Princess, Elmo)
It's an external link to a place similar to MySpace but cooler - called Multiply.
Anyways here it is :

firefox ctrl-w close tab
When you use Ctrl-W to close a tab in Opera, it closes the tab and then goes to the most recently used tab.
There is a button on this page :
http://operawiki.info/CustomButtonscalled "Close current page & switch to previous one"
This will close the current tab and open the next one, to the left of the tab just closed.
You can mimic this behaviour with a keyboard shortcut by using this command :
"Close page,,,, Caption Close & Switch to previous page"
I assigned it to "w ctrl"
You can also change the word "previous" with "next" to switch to the next tab on the right.
Also note that the previous or next tab wraps - unlike FireFox.
Close enough tho.

wget tips
WGET examples I've used ....
The following will get a file called reports.xml from the ftp server "sirjeffssite.co.nz"
Using the user login name "username@mydomain.co.nz" (replace @ with %40)
and the password "mypassword"
and write the file to "/usr/people/sirjeff/report/reports.xml"
If the file exists it will overwite it no questions asked

wget -r -nH -P /usr/people/sirjeff/report ftp://username%40mydomain.co.nz:mypassword@sirjeffssite.co.nz/reports.xml
-r = recursive
-nH = no Host (supresses creation of host directory)
-P <path> = path to plop the file

In my venture of writing
DOS batch scripts I found an easy way to make a script wait a second using
PING.
ping 1.1.1.1 -n 1 -w 1000 > nul
or
ping 127.0.0.1 -n 2 -w 1000 > nul
Neato!

net stop beep - that's it - it's as simple as that!
I was thinking about unplugging the internal speaker (
WinXP SP2)
Who would've guessed that the annoying beep when changing your volume (from the system tray) could be stopped by turning of a service?!
BTW, simply drop into
CMD line and type
net stop beep
Golly!

Remember the old way of doing things in HTML?
Ya know, font tags and blinking text?
I discovered the following old tags ...
<FIELDSET>
<LEGEND ALIGN=CENTER>Test Text</LEGEND>
Testing
</FIELDSET>
Looks good in Opera and FF, but IE suxifize it.
It can be CSSified too. Ace!

Wah? Yeah, thought I'd put this information here so I don't loose it! And it took me ages to find this info, so use it wisely.
In
cmd prompt (tested on
Win2k and
WinXP) line you can simulate a return carriage or new line with
CTRL-T
If you were to drop into
cmd, and type :
net send %computername% "LINE ONE<CTRL-T>LINE TWO"
(replacing <CTRL-T> by pressing CTRL and T together)
You'll get a pop-up message with 'LINE ONE' on one line and 'LINE TWO' on the next.
ALT-2+0 (hold down ALT and press 2 then 0 on the number pad) does the same thing as CTRL-T
To add this to a batch file use edit.com. It allows you to press CTRL-T.
