*my son used to say mongking instead of mocking - now it's just natural to mongk

It comes down to three environments. Development, staging and production.
You're born and grow in the development environment. Starting a new life, learning the ways of the world.
Hitting the staging environment, thinking you have discovered your path yet keep searching for what you are. Gaining the experience of many adventures, physical and spiritual.
Finally in the production environment knowing you are nearing the end of your life. You have found yourself and can continue until death, for longer than any other environment. At peace with your inner self, and the universe.
Oh there's also the integration environment but we never talk about that. I got my head stuck once. Never again.
Was gonna post something meaningful but instead I took the random route. Hard butter fish.

So thought I should explain myself .... then I thought again .... thought some more .... and kept thinking.
Also thought I shouldn't write that down .... but after a bit more thinking .... Anyway, I've decided to keep this blog alive even with it's overall 2 hits in the last 10 years LAL*. But I do have many interesting thoughts and stories and I do need to put them somewhere for all to enjoy.
Yeah I know. This blog has mainly been random dribble, but now it's going to change into random wibble (see started already). So brace yourselves for the new up'n'coming exciting stories, thoughts, and observations brought to you by me.
* this is a story in it's own.

I've started to upload the musical history of D.J Nash (AKA Sir Jeff, Sir Cactus, Jeff, Rita, Dwayne, Princess, Elmo)
It's an external link to a place similar to MySpace but cooler - called Multiply.
Anyways here it is :http://sirjeff.multiply.com/

When you use Ctrl-W to close a tab in Opera, it closes the tab and then goes to the most recently used tab.
There is a button on this page :http://operawiki.info/CustomButtons
called "Close current page & switch to previous one"
This will close the current tab and open the next one, to the left of the tab just closed.
You can mimic this behaviour with a keyboard shortcut by using this command :
"Close page,,,, Caption Close & Switch to previous page"
I assigned it to "w ctrl"
You can also change the word "previous" with "next" to switch to the next tab on the right.
Also note that the previous or next tab wraps - unlike FireFox.
Close enough tho.

WGET examples I've used ....
The following will get a file called reports.xml from the ftp server "sirjeffssite.co.nz"
Using the user login name "email@example.com" (replace @ with %40)
and the password "mypassword"
and write the file to "/usr/people/sirjeff/report/reports.xml"
If the file exists it will overwite it no questions asked
wget -r -nH -P /usr/people/sirjeff/report ftp://username%40mydomain.co.nz:firstname.lastname@example.org/reports.xml
-r = recursive
-nH = no Host (supresses creation of host directory)
-P <path> = path to plop the file

In my venture of writing DOS
batch scripts I found an easy way to make a script wait a second using PING
ping 184.108.40.206 -n 1 -w 1000 > nul
ping 127.0.0.1 -n 2 -w 1000 > nul

net stop beep - that's it - it's as simple as that!
I was thinking about unplugging the internal speaker (WinXP SP
Who would've guessed that the annoying beep when changing your volume (from the system tray) could be stopped by turning of a service?!BTW
, simply drop into CMD
line and type
net stop beep

Some of the best quotes from my night out last night .....
I think all the boys are just trying out the other side.
Campbell's such a quiet guy but you should see the bruises on Mike's hand.
Do you want some Indian?
- Shane's line on a first date
I don't like sausages when I'm eating lots of meat.

Remember the old way of doing things in HTML?
Ya know, font tags and blinking text?
I discovered the following old tags ...
<LEGEND ALIGN=CENTER>Test Text</LEGEND>
Looks good in Opera and FF, but IE suxifize it.
It can be CSSified too. Ace!
