Chit Chat

,

Remember that very talkative and high-climbing little foxcub...? bigsmile

Chatter and the rest of the "litter" whom I fostered back in May are now living in a pen on what will soon become their release site party I haven't seen them myself since they left me, but thanks to another fosterer, I have some pictures to show you (thanks Jackie, if you read this!)

Haven't they grown! bigeyes

And they're even finding new friends lol

Nice to see how much they've grown. And that's a very bold hedgehog in the last shot!

Adele BrandSittingFox Saturday, August 2, 2008 2:37:00 PM

They're certainly having a few new life experiences! smile Either the hedgehog was trusting in the wire, or it hadn't heard of Chatter's reputation! wink

Darkogdare Saturday, August 2, 2008 2:56:24 PM

They are grown and beautiful smile

Adele BrandSittingFox Saturday, August 2, 2008 3:05:15 PM

And they will be set loose on the world soon! yes

Darkogdare Saturday, August 2, 2008 3:32:10 PM

happy

MarieMaGoose Saturday, August 2, 2008 4:26:47 PM

How nice to be able to follow up on them. Here's hoping they happily adjust to the wild.

Adele BrandSittingFox Saturday, August 2, 2008 4:36:07 PM

Hopefully they'll do fine smile The other litter left me some days ago as well.

MarieMaGoose Saturday, August 2, 2008 4:45:54 PM

Will you get a new litter? They have been so much fun to watch.

Adele BrandSittingFox Saturday, August 2, 2008 5:13:12 PM

Well, not this year. The cub season is pretty much over now.

MarieMaGoose Saturday, August 2, 2008 5:22:22 PM

Too bad, a distraction could be good for you right now. However, you seem to find lots to keep your mind - and camera - busy.

Nicolas Borgsmidtnopanic Saturday, August 2, 2008 5:36:25 PM

They must have been quite busy, being that slim I mean smile

CynthiaCynthia23 Saturday, August 2, 2008 5:41:41 PM

Fantastic news Adele! They look so healthy! You must give your friend Jackie a big thank you for the photos. smile

Eliane a/k/a Ellymomable Saturday, August 2, 2008 7:04:33 PM

Brilliant news! I love the hedgehog!

Vulpes vulpes Saturday, August 2, 2008 8:02:48 PM

Gorgeous! Gosh, they have grown indeed! bigsmile Great to see them doing so well. Sorry to hear your pen is now empty!

Adele BrandSittingFox Sunday, August 3, 2008 2:35:18 PM

@Marie - the wild foxes keep me occupied, to be sure smile

Adele BrandSittingFox Sunday, August 3, 2008 2:36:13 PM

@Nic - it's hyper-excited cub energy. They must have very good metabolisms bigsmile

Nicolas Borgsmidtnopanic Sunday, August 3, 2008 2:38:05 PM

Yeah, for sure heart

Adele BrandSittingFox Sunday, August 3, 2008 2:39:14 PM

@Cynthia - yes, they look very healthy, and they're starting to get that adult look to their faces. Almost ready to take on the world! smile

Adele BrandSittingFox Sunday, August 3, 2008 2:40:29 PM

@Elly - did I mention that I found a frog in the pen with Kitty a couple of weeks back? bigeyes It was a very lucky and unscathed frog...

Adele BrandSittingFox Sunday, August 3, 2008 2:41:40 PM

@Vulpes - it's great to see them as they grow up. And yes, it does feel a bit strange not having cubs in the garden. I haven't seen the wild ones lately either, well, not of the garden group. I'm seeing cubs from other groups without much trouble when I go out for drives after dark.

Eliane a/k/a Ellymomable Sunday, August 3, 2008 6:38:08 PM

Foxes will eat frogs? I ate frog legs once; not too impressed. lol

Nicolas Borgsmidtnopanic Sunday, August 3, 2008 7:05:32 PM

Are we talking french foxes here left

ALLY G.ALLY_G Monday, August 4, 2008 4:47:02 AM

Loiscakkleberrylane Monday, August 4, 2008 10:33:06 AM

EricCedarFox Wednesday, August 6, 2008 4:23:55 AM

They look so much older now. How much longer until they can escape? smile

Adele BrandSittingFox Thursday, August 7, 2008 9:25:43 PM

@Elke - hmm...how about you write the first verse, and I'll try with the chorus? wink sing

Adele BrandSittingFox Thursday, August 7, 2008 9:27:12 PM

@Lois - it's strange to remember all my blog posts with them, and now they are really ready to go free! But I bet Chatter will still be chatting away at the top of her voice for a long time to come wink

Adele BrandSittingFox Thursday, August 7, 2008 9:28:31 PM

@Eric - I don't know, but they might well have been released by now. If not, then very shortly bigsmile yes

ALLY G.ALLY_G Saturday, August 9, 2008 10:23:38 AM

no a song, written by me with my humble english??? That isn't a good idea. bigsmile

Adele BrandSittingFox Saturday, August 9, 2008 10:53:13 AM

If it's a bad winter and we are all stuck indoors unable to take pictures, perhaps we can have a fun song-writing attempt! p

Darkogdare Saturday, August 9, 2008 11:03:16 AM

Adele BrandSittingFox Saturday, August 9, 2008 11:04:17 AM

Adele BrandSittingFox Saturday, August 9, 2008 11:23:12 AM

FrogbootsFrogBoots Sunday, August 17, 2008 8:59:38 PM

A frog and a fox
in a box at the Opera:
somewhat better than a load of toads
hopping around all over the roads.

A mouse and a duck
in a red pickup truck:
surely beats a gaggle of geese
waddling wild all over the streets.

A horse and a cow
with an old farm plough
smarter by far than a heap of sheep
straggling out all over the fields.

A goat and a...

Cleaner shall be than a girl and a dog
Whose walk route takes them through an autumnal bog
