The magpies may have called a temporary truce with at least one fox, but our largest local corvid has no such scruples. I know bullying when I see it

The crow repeatedly divebombed this medium-sized fox as it trotted along the field edge. Quite why was unclear to me; crows nest in the topmost branches of high trees, well out of ridge of even the most adventurous fox, and it didn't seem to be protecting a food source. I'm sure it had its reasons; in any case, it somewhat perturbed the fox
Other local mammals seem more peaceful. Rabbit kits are exploring the world

And still others are up to their usual disappearing tricks! This scrape appears to be the work of a badger - the five claw lines and the breadth of the paw eliminate most other local creatures. Badgers themselves are always difficult to photograph, but at least they leave plenty of sign.

Cowslips are much easier to find

Spring is becoming summer. I wonder when I'll see my first fox cub of the year!

But they are cute, especially the young ones.
We don`t have foxes around but crows are bullying dogs in parks. I have seen one sitting on a branch dropping all sorts of things to a dog under the tree. If that dog ever has a secret wish, it was to have a wings

Magpies are crazy, like seaguls

Hard to believe that the longest day of the year is only next month! It feels like yesterday that we had a foot of snow on the ground!

As for the crow - well, yes
Thanks

But they're fascinating to watch. My walks would be much duller without corvids. Like the foxes, I simply never know what I'm going to be seeing them doing!

Lovely pictures as always. By the way, what type of flowers are those in the last shot?
It finally stopped raining here after eight days of it. Finally some sun for more than five minutes.

The flowers are cowslips, a species of wild primrose native to meadowland. It's not doing that well nationally due to severe habitat destruction, but there's a good number over my local valley this year.
Thanks!
