Sunshine, at last.

, ,

:D hi

Yippee! We have some warmth and sunshine, at last, and a squadron of bees are feeding on the lavender, the butterflies are posing on the opened flowers, and the greenhouse is warming up again.

I am busy hand-etching my design on a large wall mirror for a gift and so I am working to a time scale here. The design is extensive and the work is delicate. One slip and the whole effect would be ruined and every moment I am expecting the mirror to crack! [:yikes:]. In the meantime I am trying to figure out how to photograph a mirror, to show the finished work, using only a 1.3 megapixel camera, without being seen in the reflection.

Wishing you all the best, and lots of patience with you project....

Your documentation problem got me thinking and i came up with this crazy solution:

Woah!

The light would have to be dim enough and the film thick enough to prevent reverse reflection, and the shutter speed would have to be set to eternity....

Of course the solution is highly thoeritical and even if it does work... it would be far easier to get yourself photographed in the mirror, than to try something like this!...

All the best,
Shaunak

Ps: Could do with some sunshine...its pouring here...

Hey, thanks for that Shaunak. I can see a lot of thought has gone into this solution. Even if it will not work it gives a lot of elements that can be adapted. I really appreciate your effort.

My very best regards to you.

just take the picture at a slight angle with a black cloth hanging in the reflection. try a white cloth too.

Thank you for that Artman. I will try that when the mirror is finished.

The weather is glorious at my place too. It gives me a lot of energy to work in the garden and to mow the lawn. There are a lot of apples this year.
