Too Much of a Good Thing.......Is Wonderful!

, ,

:D hi

Yesterday was a tough day; with Opera unavailable, I was over-tired, and we had heavy rain. But today the sky is clearing, I have caught up on my sleep and feeling a whole lot better for it. Tiredness effects my condition and so I was getting pretty dizzy.

I want to get up to the woods this next week and sketch some natural backgrounds for the figures I am working on.

We used to have a saying, "If it feels good - do it." And we should - but if it consequently harms someone, it can not feel good. We should all be good for each other, 50/50, win/win. That way we create only positive vibes to combat all of the hate, misunderstanding, and all of the other negative vibes that are hurting us.

:coffee:

We need more whole-brain thinking going on.Not Only But Also.

That cat of yours sends good vibes apparently. I normally don't like cats, but I like yours.

Anything that brings pleasure to others is a good thing. I am glad you like the cat image.

I hope you are feeling well and happy at this time.

Its great that you enjoy the rains and don't mind it in moderate excesses, sadly most people don't.

People are funny, during the summer they complain about the heat and pray for rains, and when it does rain, they complain about going to school/work all wet, streets getting water logged, them having to carry heavy umbrellas, and about the heavy traffic jams.

Sometimes its best to overlook these small inconveniences of the monsoons and look at all the bright happy things they bring like the bright green freshly washed leaves or the new plant life that springs from soil.

Lets just hope it does not rain when you are out sketching!

Hello Shaunak :D

Yes, rain refreshes the Earth. Of course there are the heavy monsoons and floods that tend to drown people and creatures, but that is life and we must deal with the losses.

Your blog post made me feel a lot better this morning. My uncle's garage was broken into last night. The Crime Lab came out this A.M. and took fingerprints. They just left in fact. All the thief took was a stepladder, but he pried out the back window. Whomever this is, has been repeatedly kicking a hole in the fence, almost on a weekly basis. We keep repairing it, and they keep breaking it.
I think it is our back neighbors, or someone they know. The troubles started when that house became a "rental".

By Captivevet, # 14. July 2008, 13:26:46

avatar
Sorry to read about your break-in. I read about your damaged fence earlier and it seems obvious to be the same perps, trying to gain access.. I am glad you got the police involved because they must question the renters and, therefore, put them off any more attempts.

I don't know why my uncle is reluctant to take the steps that would make us a "Hard Target", but at this point, he just seems content to keep repairing the damage. There is no point in me arguing with him about it. He gets very prickly when he is offered help that he thinks he doesn't need.:coffee:

Yes, some of the elders do get a little set in their ways and stubborn. I guess it is their way of coping in an ever changing modern world.

By Skip247, # 14. July 2008, 14:15:28

avatar
Well, he got prickley again right now. All I did was relay all the different suggestions from people to him. Now he is out in the garage fuming around. Nuts to him. I am going to work.

By Captivevet, # 14. July 2008, 14:29:38

avatar
Of course he is angry at the incident - best left alone for now so he can deal with it in his own way.

Have a good day at work Tyler, it sounds like you could do with a little diversion for a little while anyway.

Catch you on the flip side good buddy.

Now I am back home. Thank goodness my supervisor finally decided to call in some outside help on those damn computers. Even when we get something to work, they don't keep working. My car died, so my uncle had to drive me to work and then pick me up. Oh he was happy about that. Now I am sitting waiting for the repair truck to bring me a battery. So, how was your day?

By Captivevet, # 14. July 2008, 20:55:12

avatar
Not as traumatic as yours! :yikes:

I have just settled down in front of the PC for a little R+R.

By Skip247, # 14. July 2008, 21:05:20

Battery now installed. Wallet now is lighter. Hope your Opera is working better than it is over here. It seems to do this about the same time every day. If you don't here from me anymore today, it is because I threw the computer off the roof.

By Captivevet, # 15. July 2008, 00:31:35

avatar
Opera is giving problems here too. It is obvious they can not cope with the number of users. It is better in our a.m. because all the U.S. is still sleeping. From our lunchtime it gets sticky.

Sad about your car going down and glad you got it fixed o.k. (And now you do not have to carry a heavy wallet around anymore!).

By Skip247, # 15. July 2008, 08:12:27

avatar
I suppose that it will get better, or not. I am ready to face another day. Things are still insane where I work. Interestingly, my computer is the only one that is actually working right. It took awhile, and the other workers won't give me enough time to fix theirs. Well, tomorrow they are bringing in the pro. Coffee is ready.

By Captivevet, # 15. July 2008, 11:47:05

avatar
It's their loss, not giving you time to fix their computers. It must be frustrating for you. They can see yours working and not theirs. That is just stupidity.

Well have a good day my friend, because that is the only way we can fight the crap. I will catch you later.

By Skip247, # 15. July 2008, 12:58:01

Ok, I will be back in the P.M. Don't kill any frogs!

Hey, Ansoo. What are you doing in the Falklands? It's good to hear from you. I will catch up later. (Ants do not like mint).

Earth to Ansoo.
I have some nettles in my garden for 3 reasons: [1] they attract good insects, [2] they are the sign of good soil, and [3] they fix nitrogen in the soil that benefits the surrounding plants.

We have sheep-chasers here too - they are called Welshmen!

Give my regards to Port Stanley.

Hello Ombolan! I see you have listened to the "Cream" at some point. Hey Skip. I am up for the day now, getting ready to DO it.:coffee:

Hi Tyler. I was going to go up into the woods today to sketch some natural backgrounds but the weather is not too clever so I will try again tomorrow.

By Skip247, # 16. July 2008, 14:17:04

Check your regular Email. I sent you a copy of "Gutz".

Wow. Roger. Will do now.

Just remember that it isn't the final version.

Received and stored safely. I will keep it secure on my computer and read it there.

By Skip247, # 16. July 2008, 21:24:14

It reads fast, I hope you enjoy it. I guess that this weekend I will try to fix it the way my agent wants it. Crap.

By Captivevet, # 16. July 2008, 21:36:14

avatar
Thank you Tyler. It seems a shame to lose your weekend for something you have already done. Is there much that they want doing?

By Skip247, # 16. July 2008, 21:51:53

avatar
147 changes. No shit. Maybe I can get my editor to help me a little.

By Captivevet, # 16. July 2008, 22:11:19

avatar
Do they list how they want the changes to be made, or do they just list the changes they need?

By Skip247, # 16. July 2008, 22:34:13

avatar
I am not sure. Haven't really looked at it yet. I can't open the file on this machine, it doesn't have "Word". I have to go off to the market now. I don't have milk for the morning. I'll catch you later.

By Captivevet, # 16. July 2008, 22:45:14

avatar
It is midnight here now so I am having to hit the hay. Have a good evening and I will catch up with you tomorrow.

By Skip247, # 16. July 2008, 22:51:13

avatar
I suppose that you have been up now for about four hours anyway. I have been up for an hour. So I have my coffee and I am sitting here pulling it together for another day.

By Captivevet, # 17. July 2008, 11:35:40

avatar
I tried to get up to the woods this morning, but it is now blowing a gale with heavy rain outside. Summer?

By Skip247, # 17. July 2008, 13:13:01

avatar
Why is it that when we have time to go and do what we want the weather almost always goes to Hell? I went on a vacation trip to San Francisco three years ago, and it never stopped raining. I bought a raincoat and went ahead anyway.

By Captivevet, # 17. July 2008, 13:25:05

avatar
But 'it never rains in southern California' (but when it pours, man it pours) - or something like that.

By Skip247, # 17. July 2008, 13:29:23

avatar
S.F. is in N. Calif. and it is damp there all of the time. Samuel Clemmons (Mark Twain), had nothing good to say about the place. I guess he lived there for a year.

By Captivevet, # 17. July 2008, 13:41:23

avatar
What was he doing in S.F? He belonged on the Big Muddy. Now there was a writer who knew what he was talking about too.

By Skip247, # 17. July 2008, 13:48:51

avatar
I don't know why he went there, but I know that he didn't like it. I think his final home was in New England somewhere. I could look it up, but I probably won't.

By Captivevet, # 17. July 2008, 13:51:25

avatar
I suppose he had to settle somewhere eventually and New England is as good a place as any. At least we know he did not settle in S.F.

By Skip247, # 17. July 2008, 13:55:08

avatar
My cousin Benjamin lives in S.F., and he loves it there. He is like his dad (uncle Paul), and has taken to being a consultant.

By Captivevet, # 17. July 2008, 13:57:59

I used to joke about Californians; saying they are so into medication that they sit at traffic singnals saying, "Man there has got to be another color." And when an earthquake starts to rumble - they want more bass. Then they go up into the mountains to ski uphill! :eyes:

By Skip247, # 17. July 2008, 14:02:24

avatar
Does Britain have earthquakes? I have been in a few small ones, but nothing really bad.

By Captivevet, # 17. July 2008, 22:09:19

avatar
We have the occasional rumble with very minor damage, because we are continueing to move away from Europe. (We should arrive in the Hudson Bay area in about a squillion years hence ).

Hope you had a good day. I have been very busy here, with various tasks.

By Skip247, # 17. July 2008, 22:20:38

avatar
Well that's England for you. Just hate to be joining anybody! I thought that was funny, but I guess you had to be there.

By Captivevet, # 17. July 2008, 22:23:59

Tell me about it. Continental drift may be disasterous for some but it provides a free trip around the Earth.

It just goes to show how mobile this planet is.

By Skip247, # 17. July 2008, 22:33:24

avatar
I am just waiting for it to start to wobble again. Now ThaT would be a ride and a half. You know? Antarctica didn't used to be at the bottom of the planet. It used to be by the Equator.
