Cafe "Ishii"

,

Here is my favorite café "Ishii".
The café which was built of Nordic wood is located by Route186 in Kurisu Hatsukaichi-city Hiroshima.
This place is in a quiet and beautiful forest, where you can hear the babbling of a brook. Recently some café like Starbucks or Doutor in city centers are popular, but the number of café is in the countryside has decreased. This fact has disappointed me. I think that the café in such a beautiful place are not so many in Japan.
I recommend to drive along Route186, especially in early summer to see fresh green leaves and in autumn to see colored leaves.

I often went there when I was a college student, so I have a few memories here, both good and bad.
I lost control of my car in the tight bend, went into a spin and ran into the guardrail. It's a good memory now.

Cafeowner changed 5 times, so now 6th cafeowners keep the café, forties woman and her mother.
They always make me happy, pieceful and wonderful ! Her mother is especially pleasant to talk with and kind.

She definitely likes talking. If she gets talking to someone, to stop her talking is difficult ! I think.
Some customers always sit on counter chairs, it's rare cafe, isn't it ? They must like to chat with her.
In addition, some customers and cafeowners chat together
before they know.
I love a great atmosphere of the café and their homely personality.
Be careful, Closed day is Monday.
Shop hours between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

If you see this view below, you are almost there.

A LHD car

I've been driving a left-hand drive car since last November, but I'm still not accustomed to it.
I had driven a right-hand drive car for around 8 years. I used to race through the mountains at nights.
The feeling of RHD (right-hand drive) is second nature.

I sometimes notice I'm rightish in lane when I'm driving my LHD (left-hand drive) car.
This means the right side of my car is over the centerline! Danger!!
When I was almost in an accident, my left hand immediatly went for a RHD gear shift
and my eyes looked to the upper left, serching for a RHD rear view mirror.
In addition, I often walk up to the right side of the car when getting in.

This habit is difficult to break, but interesting.

Bassist

I just got a Bass guitar.
I learned playing the electric guitar when I was a high school student, but it was just for three months.
I haven't played guitar since then.
Recently my co-worker planed on forming a "Oyaji" band as a hobby.
"Oyaji" means middle-aged men in Japanese. It's a kind of Japanese slang.
I've only had experience with the electric guitar,
but my co-worker wants to be the electric guitarist in the band, so he asked me to play Bass.
Actually I was not interested in the bass guitar at all then.

I checked about the bass guitar after that.
I was surprised that any bass guitarist can play a solo
because I'd thought the bass guitar was only played as support.
I didn't know it until then.
This made me willing to play the guitar again!!

I listened the solo below URL. - Sorry Japanese only.

A Happy New Year

, ,

We went to Zao where is famous for skiing and Onsen in Yamagata prefecture from the end of 2006 to the new year. Zao is famous for Ice Monster or Snow Monster as well. I ate a fragment of Ice Monster (Juhyo). It was a amazing texure and very crunchy. You should try to eat!

For reference about Ice Monster.

Tow days before we arrived, it was raining. The day before we arrived, the rain changed to snow, so we had really good powder-like snow. When we walked, it sounded like mice squeaking. In addition, it was fine, clear day when we skied. We were lucky! Wonderful opening of 2007! :D

As I was riding the bar lift, I found a jump and decided to try it without disturbance! I used to live in Niigata where is one of prefectures of heavy snowfall in Japan. I used to make lots of jumps, so I had many experiences.

The jump lasted for around 3 seconds. The moment I left the ground, I felt sudden fear because of my unexpected high speed. Because I started to ski straight at a jump from around the top of ski slope, I was speeding up too much. This picture shows my fear, doesn't it?

I thought almost nothing from the time I jumped to the time I landed. After that, both my skis flew away and I felt great pain in my knees. I failed to land!

I thought that my knees broke at that moment because I couldn't move my legs by itself. I had to move my legs by my hands. I'm okay now.
After my failure, no one tried jumping...

New arrival

I've bought an another car. My Nissan Skyline is giving its responsibilities to my BMW Z3.
Thank you Skyline, but I have to say goodbye.
Welcome to my town Z3. You've come from Atsugi city near Yokohama.
Your acceleration and performance is ok, but the exhaust sound is great !
We will enjoy driving together !

I can't help ...

I haven't posted for a long time.
My car broke down a month ago I repaired it and 2 days later it broke down again.
I was going to get my skyline serviced at the end of November. It costs a lot, so I have decided to sell it or not even though I have driven 160,000 km. It still looks great new.
Finally I decided to get an another car ! It's secondhand, and it was made 10 years ago.
I'll get it tomorrow (actually today), I'm looking forward to seeing it for the first time.
