LKJ & Jimmy Locke - England is a Bitch - Wurlitzer style!

For my first blog entry, I'm setting the scene with LKJ's 'England is a Bitch' which goes
beautifully with the keyboard magic of Tommy Locke (not pictured).

Gorn darn it - this was originally the oldest blog entry here but now it's the newest - I was updating these links last night without a problem - what's occuring?

Still, it gives this one a bit of an airing, it was developing a strange smell.

This is a load of tunes I did years ago on a 'tracker' type sequencer,
using sounds from here, there and everywhere- surprises are in store!

Experience a disco version of the Werther's Original ad, or Mary, Mungo and Midge
with breakbeats. Davros makes an appearance, Terry Nutkins pops in, and a
hopeful RAF candidate gets nervous.

There's a rendition of the 'All creatures Great and Small' you never heard the
likes of before, and Alan Titchmarsh appreciates tulips.

This is all topped off with a big Jazzy Duran Duran school choir mash-up in tribute
to the classic TV regional news presenter and BBC radio 2 broadcaster, Debbie Thrower!

It's done it again - this post is 3 years old! I was only updating the link! bomb

Nugget's Bloody Stool

Got no swipe cards..

It's a complicated process, getting a top-up in a foreign country.
Just go to the newsagents! The heavy synths stay here, they never run low.

I was updating the link on this old post and now it's at the top - bugger! cry
Never mind, because it's a goodie, starring my old colleague Colin explaining that our shop didn't sell scratch-off top up cards for mobile phones. Remember those?

The New Beat Beach Boys - Calfornia Girls from Belgium

This might get Brian Wislon's goat alright- the agonisingly perfected harmonies of The Beach Boys combined with the raucous acid sound of Belgian New Beat! For those who care, the New Beat track is a long-standing favourite, Reject 707's 'Brainkiller'.

Together with chocolates, a lager called Stella and a place near Brussels called Asse, it makes Belgium great!

The Persuasion EP

If you watch TV and sometimes have trouble discerning between reality and fiction, you're in good company- and there may be a job waiting for you at the newsroom of your choice!

Growing up in the 80s, I had great fun expecting to be fried to a crisp while cowering under some doors leant against the wall, but then children aren't as savvy as adults when it comes to watching TV..!

Prodigy Meets the MET Police

Time for a new post I think! And what could be better than the Metropolitan Police band?

They need to relax between shootings, and they find that military marching band music is just the way to wind down before they go out and gun down someone else.

They decided to collaborate with the Prodigy's Keith Flint, with whom they got on well while he was in police custody years ago, and the result pleased them greatly- lucky for Keith!

At the End of the Day...

At the End of the Day..version 1

More therapy now as the meaningless and overused phrase is exploited, accompanied by a lumpy 3/4 time signature and synthy squelching - this may count towards it's falling out of use! Also if you find yourself wanting to say it, try-

'When it comes down to it', 'All things considered' or 'What it boils down to is..'

Something for ambient noise fans now, the first in a series of easy-noise using a big
virtual Moog and disorderly recordings to produce an acrid atmosphere..
