Okay, sorry for the intensely long message then none for a really long time...

anyway, things have been good here. Few random stories....such as:
My sociology teacher reminds of me of Nick's mom like whoa! It's really, really odd
Last night we played board games (Balderdash and Scattergories!) in the lounge with a bunch of people for a while, and then everyone drifted off to bed except for Brigid and Sammy, who decided to come up to my dingle (double single! w00t!) for a while to hang out. Well, long story short, "a little while" turned into 5:30 in the morning. Honest to God, I went to sleep at 6am
Tolley 1st (that's the first floor of Tolley, my dorm, for those of you who don't go here....I live on Tolley 3rd) flooded today with all the rain. Now, I didn't go see it, so all I know is that my RA, Matt, had to go downstairs to tape all the doors shut? 0.0 anyways yeah so he went to do that...
and I went down to the lounge with a bunch of my people. Now, we're sitting in the lounge waiting for Jake and Andrew to show up so we can order our food, when the ceiling in the hallway between Tolley and the lounge starts dripping water. Then pouring water. Then flat-out raining in the hallway....and then, several ceiling tiles suddenly fell in. It was quite interesting....especially since this part of the dorm was completely rebuilt this summer. Very reassuring....NOT. Brigid and I came upstairs to get any serious valuables, in case our ceiling (Tolley 3rd is the top of the building) fell in too
I auditioned for AOTA (All Of The Above, the co-ed a capella group) today! I didn't make it, but Nick did, and so did my friend Brigid, so that's cool And I had a fun day in the UC....we basically had a craft day, and I painted a pot. And adopted a plant! yayyy haha it was exciting. We got DRENCHED when we finally left (we arrived at 1ish for auditions, and just stayed there til around 6 or 7 due to a combination of not wanting to walk in the rain and waiting for Brigid to finish her call back, but it was fun haha
Anyway, time for a quick set of introductions/tour!
Joe and Casey. Joe lives across the hall from me, and he's a really nice guy, but he is probably one of the most awkward people I've ever met. Casey is my RA, and this was taken the very first night, when I was alone in my room and the three of us ended up talking for a while.
Brigid; she's my friend from my sibling group, she lives two doors down from me, and she's one of my best friends here! She also auditioned for AOTA with me and got in
Sammy! Her roommate, Amy, was in my sibling group, which is how Sammy and all the rest of us really met and became friends and everything, but now we're randomly tight! haha all of us live in her and Amy's room in Brown (the dorm that's attached to mine by the Tolley/Brown lounge). I was actually talking to her up until just a few minutes ago haha
Amy and Kellie! As I said, Amy was in my sibling group, and she pretty much was the connecting factor between most of us. Kellie was also in our sibling group, and she was the first person to talk to me during orientation! She doesn't really hang out with us that much because she got really close to her floor (she lives in Holloway, the dorm connected to Nick's dorm), but we've got sociology together, so I still see her
Melissa. She's a commuter, and I haven't really had a lot of time to hang out with her yet, but she's so much fun when we do hang out, and I can't wait to get to know her better!
Jake the pimp! When we first met him, he was sitting with us (a bunch of girls) and no guys, which earned him the nickname Jake the pimp. I actually call him Jake or Jacob interchangeable...anyway, I actually have no idea how he fell in with us...I suspect it had something to do with Sammy lmao
GUS! OMG! hahaha Gus is pretty much amazing....as promised, this is his "Who the fuck are you ?" face lmao. He hangs out with us a bunch, but he's a commuter too, so I haven't gotten to spend as much time with him as I'd like to. I have a feeling that's going to change sometime soon, though
Andrew, the guy who lives across the hall from Jacob, so I'm guessing Jake brought him into our group haha....which would again make him Sammy's fault, I suppose lmao. He reminds me of Sean to an insane degree....yeah Andrew's pretty chill haha (AHH chill! EVERYONE says that here!!)
So that's the basic cast of characters....there are definitely some others, especially Gibby, our friend who lives across the hall from Sammy and Amy. We also hang out with a girl named Melanie sometimes, someone Jacob and Andrew know, and this kid Sean sometimes, and Jake's roommate Chris joins us not infrequently, too. Caroline, Brigid's roommate, joins us sometimes, and there's always Darcey, Lindsay, and Jam for a really out-there group (they're really hardcore into anime, larping, stuff like that, but they're awesome. And Lindsay has an AMAZING voice. Of course, I also hang out with Nick and Alvyn at times, and I love their friend Amy that I met the other day haha.
Now for a few quick places!
Our dining hall, aka the commons. It's pretty big, it's pretty nice, and this is where we eat My friends and I have the tendency to sit behind these huge divider things they have and eat there, while staring out the huge windows at the people traveling from Welch/Holloway, and staying there for ridiculous amounts of time, even when everyone is done eating.
Baldwin Gym....pretty self-explanatory, this is the gym. It's where we had a lot of orientation stuff, it's where the pool is and where I went for soccer stuff, and it's right across from the commons.
Welch/Holloway, for those of you wondering where Nick was living...
The UC....aka University Center; this is where I spent most of my day today. It has the bookstore, the mail room, some foosball/pool(Nick owned me today)/air hockey/ping pong tables, a bunch of couches and chairs, a big tv, and some other stuff.
The lounge! Like I said before, they re-did everything this year, and it's both huge and absolutely gorgeous compared to what this stuff looked like even last year when I came to visit. It's unbelievable how much things changed over the summer. Upperclassmen keep coming in and exclaiming over it hahaha
And finally, my room! I really, really like the way my room looks, but I'm almost never in here. I don't like to go sit in here by myself or anything, and all of us usually gather in Brown 205 (Sammy and Amy's room).... by usually I mean constantly haha. But yeah, that's my tour!!!
Just now, I was sitting at my desk with my door open, when my across-the-hall neighbor leads a guy up to her door, unlocks it, and exclaims, "SHIT! My roommate's in there with someone!"
Now, I know her roommate (she's someone who hangs out with Nick), so that statement in and of itself was pretty awkward. So I'm now sitting here like 0.0 OMFG, and she goes, "Okay, I'll just go get *mumbles something Beth can't hear*". So I'm sitting there going omg....omg....omg....do they know my door's open....omg and he turns around and sees me somewhere between deer-in-the-headlights and about to crack up and STARTS TALKING TO ME. Yeah, that's right, he strikes up a casual conversation with me about how I like Drew so far. Um. AWKWARD
so she comes back out and as she leads the guy away says, "Wow, I didn't know my dormmate was so chill. Guess she's okay."
