A look into how I work.

, , , ...

Yup, title says all. I'm going to give you a look at my desktop. See how I work. What programs I use, sidebar gadgets, and more. :D Now this is a little sneak peek, upcoming posts will provide more information. Today I'll provide you with a screenshot of how my desktop looks like.

Make spares of your spares!

, , , ...

Well, today my mom was going to go get some groceries. The weather outside is a little warm today. So she went into her car to cool it up, now, I think to myself. We have a remote controlled car starter, you can stand inside of your house, and start the car with a push of a button. Anyway, she turned on the car with the key, stepped outside, and the wind blew the door shut. With the keys inside, :insane: The spare remote was also in the glove box :faint:. Luckily, I knew my Dad would be prepared for something like this, as it has happened in the past. :left: So we had called him, opened our fire-safe box, came out with the spare spares, and opened the doors. :D

So, today's tip. Make spare keys for your spare keys! :D

EDIT: Or simply break your car door. It beats having to carry all those spare keys around with you all the time. :D Thanks to Over and Over for the tip! :D

How to add "snowflakes" to your banner.

, , , ...

Although where I live is no-where near the state of getting snow in the forecast, I thought this post might be useful for others living in distant places from me who are getting snow. Or just want to simply celebrate the snowy season, Christmas, etc. Adding snowflakes to your banner is quite simple.

Paint.NET

, , , ...

You've probably heard me referring that I edit some of my images using Paint.NET. What? You haven't? :faint: Then look here. What is Paint.NET? It is an open source, raster graphics editing program for Windows, developed on the .NET Framework. Simply put, it is an image editing program similar to Adobe Photoshop, but free. This program is simple and easy to use for beginners or even advanced users. Many images you see on my blog, such as the banner image was edited using Paint.NET. The transparency was made using the "Magic Wand" tool. The background image on my blog was originally red and white. I've made it black and white to match with my dark theme using the "Black and White" tool. Pretty up-front with the names of tools, eh? I would recommend this program to anyone who wants to do some image editing.

Project Blog v1.5

, , , ...

Yes, when that cat saw my blog, the first thing it thought was, "OMG! That's cool!". I've added some stuff like: the banner, background, floating icon in the buttom-right corner, and other things. Base blog design was created by DrLaunch. Above my blog posts is a little box with some words in it. The words are color-coded. Green being random, blue being tips/news, and red being urgent. You should know what each means since it'll usually start with "TIP:" or "NEWS", etc. I've also started using tags, which will link to similar posts within my blog without you having to use the search box. :D Will this mean the search box is going away? No, it's still there when you need it. Special thanks to DrLaunch, Furie, Tamil, and many others for helping me with my blog design, and many more. :D :star:

UPDATE: News/Tips color has been changed to orange for easier reading. Posts per page has been limited to 8 to cut-down main blog load time due to new banner and background.

Caramelldansen

Caramell is a Swedish Eurodance musical group. Malin, Katia, producers Jorge "Vasco" and Juha "Millboy" make up the group. Their single named "Om Du Var Min" made it in the number one spot on the Swedish charts on April 25, 1999. But, they are best known for their internet phenomenon known as Caramelldansen, a looping flash animation featuring characters Mii and Mia from the Japanese comic novel, Popotan. This animation (which can be found here) includes the speed up version of "Caramelldansen", which means "Caramel Dance", made by Dj Speedycake. The popular animation has been duplicated and remade with other anime characters. Such duplications can be found below. S.O.S Brigade - Caramelldansen.

Inside Google

, ,

Google's main headquarters are located in Mountain View, California. The building is referred to as the "Googleplex", as the HQ is a complex of buildings. The lobby is featured with lava lamps, a piano, old server clusters and a projection of search quaries on the wall. The hallways are filled with bicycles and exercise balls. Each and every employee has access to the corporate recreation center.

Perks are all around the Googleplex. Such as work-out rooms, locker rooms, washer and dryers, a massage room, foosball, a baby grand piano, a pool table, video games, and ping pong. In addition, the rooms are stocked with foods and drinks. :eyes: :chef:

Google is also taking steps to make their building "green". In October 2006, the company made an announcement to install thousands of solar panels to provide up to 1.6 megawatts of electricity. That's enough to supply 30% of the company's needs. In June of 2007, the company also announced that they will plan to be carbon neutral by 2008.
