:wizard: Dig the new banner? Yes, yes I will eventually seattle down with a banner sometime or later, but this new banner I made just simply had to be put up. But, the image itself wasn't made by me. It was made by *getty over at DeviantART. You can find his gallery here. The wording and effects were added by me using Paint.NET. :D

How to set up Opera IRC for OperaNet.

, , , ...

First of all, IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat, and is compatible many chat programs. Such as Opera, mIRC, XChat, or Miranda-IM. OperaNet is a chat network where you can communicate with other people in real-time from the MyOpera community. :D This blog post will show you how to set up IRC using Opera's built-in chat client.

NOTE: These steps are for Opera's chat client only.

Pre-Step: Download Opera.

Step 1: Click on: Tools > Mail and Chat Accounts.

Step 2: Select: Chat(IRC) then hit Next >.

Step 3: Follow the on-screen instrutions. On "real name", your first name only is acceptable. After that, enter in your e-mail address.

Step 4: Enter in your nickname. Your MyOpera nickname will do fine here.

Step 5: In the box, delete what's in it and type in: irc.opera.com

Step 6: Enjoy! A box should pop up fetching the rooms from OperaNet. Offical Opera rooms are #opera and #lounge. You can join them by finding them in the list or clicking on 'Join' and typing them in. My offical chat room to discuss my blog posts, photos, and friends chat is #penguin P:. Or if you simply can't wait for me to answer one of your PM's just go here. :D :left: :right:

For more info on how to register your nickname, and how to set a password for your nickname can be found here.

Paint.NET

, , , ...

You've probably heard me referring that I edit some of my images using Paint.NET. What? You haven't? :faint: Then look here. What is Paint.NET? It is an open source, raster graphics editing program for Windows, developed on the .NET Framework. Simply put, it is an image editing program similar to Adobe Photoshop, but free. This program is simple and easy to use for beginners or even advanced users. Many images you see on my blog, such as the banner image was edited using Paint.NET. The transparency was made using the "Magic Wand" tool. The background image on my blog was originally red and white. I've made it black and white to match with my dark theme using the "Black and White" tool. Pretty up-front with the names of tools, eh? I would recommend this program to anyone who wants to do some image editing.

To download the program click here. Or find the link in my sidebar.
