Things.

,

Tuesday was interesting. It was moving day for mum, and I had slept three hours each past two nights and had been up since 1am. I'd done a fuckload of cardio and was pretty wired so called to see if there was anything I could do to help. Turned out she really needed us and we were very busy that day. QWe walked four miles in the pouring rain to get some cat calming spray for the cats to move and then we helped move a bunch of things, packed the cats in carriers then we went to help organise everything at the house.
Didn't eat til we got home at 6pm.
Next day (yesterday) I get a call telling me Mojee's gone.
Cried a lot, not given up at it's only been a day and a half. Don't want to discuss it, well taught on feline behaviours and know what to expect thank you. Suffice to say I rescued her over 10 years ago and I never loved an animal this much so fingers crossed. Whisk happy but currently AWOL too although I suspect he's exploring and marking new territory, Suki is OK.
Things are stressy anyway which doesn't help, but ho hum. Saw a butterfly today while out for a choca mocha frappé milkshake which I drank too much of.
Thank fuck for computers and spell check here cause I just had to correct a bunch of crap.
Low.

Pink...ish.Muffins, Eyebrows and Moustached Moggies (among other things)

Busy days! Did you sleep better after all that?

I hope that Mojee's going to finish marking his new territory soon and get his butt back home!

The butterfly is pretty! I haven't seen many butterflies this summer. Too rainy, I guess. :sigh:

Yeah a bit although in small pieces broken by fucking nightmares. Mojee won't be marking - she's submissive and scared. It's Whisk who's marking. Mojee is hiding, I think. I haven't seen many butterflies either but this one did so not want to be ignored.

Cats are pretty good at getting home, even if it takes a while. When I moved from west london to south london, I took 2 cats, and both got out before I'd introduced them to the new premises (Those bloody cardboard cat-boxes are useless - they both just dug their way through in about 10 mins) - and one ran directly over a big main road to gardens on the other side.

Fuck that stressed me out. That was Jukebox. But he just explored, and then came looking for me. The other one (Zoot) fucked off and came back home about 6 months later!! I was amazed to see this little black & white face peering down the garden at me later on in the year, wondering if it was alright to come back. That made me very happy - it's amazing how one gets attached to one's animals smile

And sometimes they (somehow) go back to their previous place to make sure it's empty. Maybe have a quick look around there ... ?

Ah, moving! You did cardio before moving?! bigeyes How did you exercise and move?! Moving's like exercise as it is! At least, it leaves you feeling completely stuffed afterwards! lol

Spaggyj Thursday, September 8, 2011 10:58:17 PM

I know, Nick. And David. They can be gone for an age and just appear again. We've got Mum's old neighbour keeping an eye out for any of the three cats, David, she knows them well. If she is gone more than a week then I'll put up reward posters and call the cat shelters to see if she's been taken in there as well.
I won't give up on her. I know it's stupid to love a cat quite as much as I do, but I can't help it. I hate this, it's driving me nuts.

Spaggyj Thursday, September 8, 2011 10:59:52 PM

oh and David - cardio session that left me dripping, then 4 mile walk, then moving, then more moving, then 2 mile walk. All on empty stomach. A inhaled a 7.5 inch pizza that evening lol

Whisk is fine, returned this morning and left again. No Mojee as of yet.

My cat, Xena, will hide in-house for hours. We'd call for her, stir up the laundry bin and look under beds and furniture without finding her. I'd canvas the neighborhood, poke bushes and trees with a stick, call and call, still with no result. When I come back and sit down to ease up a little, she just reappears, casually entering the room, yawning and scratching herslef, as if nothing ever happened. I don't know how she does it.

I don't mind if she runs off. She's got a collar with a name tag and home adress and she's officially tattooed in both ears, so people will know where she belongs.

However, she normally turns up when I call.

*goes into long, technical discussion about the behaviour of cats. Realises no one is listening.*
Ahem! Anyway! BTW, you missed a Q with your spell check. p.

Admit it, you ate the butterfly, too, didn't you? Just for a little energy on the fly ... wink

No wonder you're worried. Pets are like family members, and I know how much you love Mojee.

And, might I add, I'd SO love a choca mocha frappé and pizza right now!

Also - that is a fine photo!

Spaggyj Sunday, September 11, 2011 12:26:03 AM

About Mojee - I got a call this evening, she was at the bottom of the garden. She ran off again but not before she ate some ham off a stick my cousin held out lol . She only ever really comes to me when called, but even if I was there I wouldn't have taken her into the house forcibly - that'd only drive her off. I know where about she is hanging out and that she's safe. She's very outdoorsy so I know she'll be okay, she'll come in the house in time.

Thanks for the compliments on the photo, it is indeed a lovely butterfly.

Never mind about the spell check error - can't be arsed now lol

*now wants a choca mocha frappé again - may have to get one tomorrow*

Spaggyj Wednesday, September 14, 2011 9:53:04 PM

Yeah Gavin - I'd never heard of it before. Didn't work so well.
And they do. And Whenever I visited, at least one full hour of my time was spent hugging and petting Mojee. I'ma try to find her in a couple of days when I visit again. Eventually I'm gonna have to give up if she doesn't show.

Rosie - Cross your fingers for me on Friday, would you? I'ma try to find her again then. And now Suke's been missing for three days too.
Had another one of those frappés the other day p

r♡serose-marie Friday, September 16, 2011 8:21:24 AM

Well... I have to admit the finger crossing held me back at work. So much so, I had to uncross them. I can give it another go tonight wink
