Court shoes and cool socks

I've been unwell physically and in my head lately. Feeling better on both fronts, moreso on the physical but not really so intelligent right now elsewhere. Things aren't making ever so much sense and concentration is very low, but I have this dress, it's a poofy black prom dress and the only not trainers I have are big knee high boots with many buckles and laces so I looked for others, and I found my first pair of court shoes on a website and they were reduced from I think £60 to just £12.50 becasue they were not in current season and had only 1 pair left not in my size, but the next day they had my size so I think a person returned them?
Anyway Being a fat, fat tomboy for most life and all of a sudden finding myself with a figure and a love of girl things, I do not know how to wear certain things such as corsets, fitted dresses and heeled shoes above very low,chunky ones. Now I can walk in them a bit I think they are 3 inches? Not sure, but I liked the idea of having a picture of being able to wear them properly so here it is

These socks I liked a lot because they are different. At the back it's all a lace panel, nice.

Never understood how you girls are able to keep up in heals like that. I am quite glad I don't have to. I'm 189 without shoes, so only a little heal will lift the top of my head to the level where I would have to duck to walk through a normal door. Good thing, I'm a guy. Looks good on you though. Can we see the dress? The same as you showed us in your birthdayness post, right?

A photo is big because it is 640x1552 px, 72dpi. If you can't resize it some of us can do that

The socks are fantastic and they look so cool on you!

I've got a pair of shoes almost like yours, I do believe the heels on yours are a bit higher than mine, actually.

Chunky shoes can still be girly IMO - I'm not crazy about stilettos for instance, I don't think they look good on me.

Horses for courses : if you have good legs (and you Kimmie and Pussy Cat, both have) then you can wear shoes like these and look fabulous

Martin - it's not inborn. Takes practice, and girls are more likely to get it. Also, most of us don't get much taller than 5 foot 7 or 8, so a few extra inches doesn't hinder. Thanks for the compliment, and no, it's not that dress, it's the one I've posted a picture of me in before, took it down, then reposted it. My new dress did arrive though.

Darko - Yeah, probably, and thanks. I know the photo resolution, but I guess it's been a while since I uploaded directly to My Opera files, because the last time I did it resized everything beyond a certain point so nothing was quite as large as this. I'd resize it but I don't care all that much. It distressed me a lot more at the time

Kitty - Thanks, and yeah, they're really cool socks. I got three pairs at once, we went into town just for them when I saw them online.
I'm not surprised you have a similar pair of shoes. You have so many pairs I'd be amazed if black courts weren't in there somewhere

Chunky shoes can indeed be girly, but not the kind I'm thinking of when I use that description in reference to my past footwear. My school heels could have easily been mistaken for a man's dress shoe.

Nick - Well, thanks for that compliment. I figured Kitty would have similar taste in sockage as myself, and that you'd know this better than I. If you think the trip to Peacocks in the UK would be worth it, go ahead

Gavin - Hardly a moan. Besides, it's good to know what friends have been going through, even if it's only a couple of vague words after the time has passed. I'm just glad 2012 is starting better for you.

One of the reasons why I like drumming is that it's about breaking stuff, first you break the sticks, then another pair of sticks, then the snare-drum, then the chair. If you batter things against eachother, they'll break apart... You know...
