Look How Pretty I am (and Mum's birthday gift)

Hospital yesterday. Wisdom tooth removal, was horizontal and impacted. Surgeon said afterwards he liked the challenge but no complications. Can open mouth half an inch. Liquid diet for now, pain worse today as is swelling. Ain't I beautiful?

Smudge near eye on same side turns out to be bruise. Oops. Tried to get it off.
Entertained self with putting Mum's gift together. She's 82 next week.
Turned out pretty well, got some of her favourite things plus some other stuff.

Mmm, hurty. Badness and meanie nurses only let me have 3 lots of painkillers per day, then just paracetamol which is like putting a band aid on a broken toe.
Byesies for now. ...Sies.

Looks very achy indeed - you poor thing. I hope the pills get on top of it...

I must admit I was puzzled over the 'Jews In Worcster' magazine, until I got my glasses repositioned properly rolleyes

KittyliciousZaphira Saturday, January 28, 2012 9:20:58 PM

Oh noes, that doesn't look fantastic! awww
I'm glad it is over and done with now, so you don't have to fear that any more! <phew>

The gift looks great - it's almost as cool to put such a gift together as it is to receive it. yes

I hope you feel better day for day. love

KarenNerak Saturday, January 28, 2012 10:36:57 PM

Feel better, puffy girl! heart Your Mum's going to love her gift! Gift baskets rule. bigsmile

Gavin Tripp-Sheedygarlingmatthews Saturday, January 28, 2012 11:57:52 PM

But you got through it! Well done. I'd love to get that basket.

Cleanclean Sunday, January 29, 2012 7:51:13 AM

I hope your Grum doesn't follow your blog or she'll know what she's getting! no

Paracetamol. These fuckers must have stock in the company, or something. I swear to Christ the next person to suggest paracetamol for actual fucking pain will be walking around with the toe of my boot as a suppository. If they have a problem, they can take paracetamol for it.

H82typ Sunday, January 29, 2012 11:33:49 AM

Oww! Probably won't hurt after a while, though. sad

Nice present. up

Peterpman45 Sunday, January 29, 2012 11:47:02 AM

You look like you have been though a mangle, you poor thing. awww
Don't worry, I have seen worse. up
I hope your Mum will enjoy the company and the presents. yes

Spaggyj Sunday, January 29, 2012 5:21:02 PM

Thanks everybibble. Swelling's gone down a bit today (until I stand up) but unfortunately the pain has increased. I reckon the swelling was easing the stitches a bit, now it's going down they're pulling somewhat and the puffy pain's now sharp and stabby irked Still, useless painkillers aside, napping is helping.
I even managed to brush most of my teeth happy but fucking paracetamol, like sugar pills. Pointless. I'd expected anti-inflammatory pills and codeine. Least I got the diclofenac.

Mostly I'm just hurty and miss food. Thanks for all the loves and well wishes bigsmile

Mum doesn't read my blog, no. She wouldn't like it at all and I've told her so lol Can't wait to give her the gift. The thing at the very back is a book trilogy she's desperate to read as she loves fiction about ancient Egypt, and the small red box with a black and white polka bow contains a charm for her bracelet bigsmile

Darkogdare Sunday, January 29, 2012 7:02:37 PM

awww
You look sad but it will be better soon.

Liquid diet? Maybe you could slip a piece of bacon here and there. I would try whistle

Mad Scientistqlue Sunday, January 29, 2012 7:31:18 PM

I must need new glasses because I can't see the smudge/bruise! sherlock .
I've had my share of swollen jaw! You need Tramadol girl! bigeyes .
pssst Tramadol never really helped for my CRPS, but I was immune to tooth pain, headache and pains from cuts, bruises and general injuries! rolleyes .

Spaggyj Sunday, January 29, 2012 7:39:29 PM

Ah, I was pretty drugged up and tired there. I can't do bacon, no lol I tried to gently chew a tiny blueberry yesterday and it really cannot be done. I'm stitched quite far along my cheek and it's pulling too much. As soon as I'm eating normally you know I'm gonna have myself some killer bacon though yes

Aadil, no, you can't really see it there. It's just a purple line in the outer corner of my eye.
They wouldn't give me Tramadol for this kinda thing. You have to be in pretty chronic pain to be given that stuff. Fucking hell I didn't know you had CRPS! You in remission now?

FlaRin Sunday, January 29, 2012 8:03:08 PM

I bloody hate Tramadol - makes me feel like crap. It's an excellent painkiller, but talk about sick and woozy...no thanks - I'd be hitting it with 3 panadol and 3 brufen about every 3 hours and maybe a shot of strong liquor to wash them down.

The words 'do not try this at home' *do* spring to mind, but that's just how I'd be dealing with that kind of discomfort.

I hope that by the time you're reading this, you're feeling a bit better, Kimmie - I'd say Life definitely owes you a nice little present and a luxurious cake, sometime over the next week smile

Spaggyj Sunday, January 29, 2012 8:55:25 PM

Thanks, Nick, hon. 6 painkillers and alcohol? Yeesh scared
I have 2 presents already, one here and one on the way, cause I've been such a good girl. And I plan to eat so much cake and bacon and stuff lol

Didn't say it was a good idea, just saying what works for me - although the strong liquor doesn't often make an appearance smile 3 and 3 are the magic numbers, though - 2 and 2 is not worth the bother and 4 + 4 requires not only strong liquor, but also sunglasses, black clothes and more of an attitude about things than I have, these days smile

I know, I know, you said NOT to. I pay attention p

I know, Karen. But there SHALL be bacon. Oh yes. As soon as my jaw functions, there will be so much friggin' bacon.

KarenNerak Monday, January 30, 2012 1:17:01 AM

headbang Bacon Fest 2012!

Spaggyj Monday, January 30, 2012 4:42:08 AM

Mad Scientistqlue Monday, January 30, 2012 4:50:53 AM

No, the CRPS is pretty much permanent. I just got tired of the side effects of the medication. rolleyes . I can't really use the meds if I'm working so it's kinda pointless to take them. left .
Technically, I'm disabled, but the disabaility grant is so low in this country that you can barely afford food with it so I'd rather just keep working. up .

FlaRin Monday, January 30, 2012 6:59:06 AM

Kimmie. Sweetie. That is NOT a massively deformed double chin!! Apart from the obvious injury-related swelling, you look beautiful, and your face is fine, sweet and womanly. I doubt you see it that way, but every one else does. You're good looking smile

<not a chat-up line, but you realise that of course haha>

Mad Scientistqlue Monday, January 30, 2012 5:11:10 PM

yes, but does Mik realise that? scared

FlaRin Monday, January 30, 2012 5:33:51 PM

Of course happy It's not Mik I'd be needing to worry about, anyway lol

Bad WolfCois Monday, January 30, 2012 9:19:39 PM

Every day that passes means it's closer to healing. So ... how is it today, Frankencheek? wink

r♡serose-marie Wednesday, February 1, 2012 10:39:41 AM

Awww, Powerpuffy awww
It looks really owie, but you don't look as swollen on the second picture. I do hope you're feeling better by now!

That basket rocks! yes
What trilogy is that?

(Also - we're wearing almost the same sweater! bigsmile)

Spaggyj Wednesday, February 1, 2012 10:55:56 AM

Aadil - how the hell do you keep going? bigeyes

Nick - ah, you're too kind rolleyes

Clint - fuck off lol

David - much better. Swelling is negligible, just got a very big yellow green bruise on my cheek and my stitches are pulling a bit. Bit of throat bruising inside too, but that's all. It's healing really well!

Rose - I surely am, thank you heart
The trilogy is um, The Queen of Freedom trilogy by Christian Jaqu. And thanks you. And yay lol

r♡serose-marie Wednesday, February 1, 2012 12:17:30 PM

Good to hear! love
Ah, Jacq. I've seen his books, but haven't read any of them. (I like reading about ancient Egypt too - especially if there's some sort of ancient crime solving involved bigsmile)

Mad Scientistqlue Wednesday, February 1, 2012 1:56:07 PM

Kimmie, I just do. :shrugs: .
CRPS is nothing after surviving high school terrorism. scared .

Spaggyj Wednesday, February 1, 2012 6:35:00 PM

Mum LOVES his books. She's got nearly all of them now lol I think she likes the Ramses series best so far. She's read it like 3 times lol

Aadil - scared Well... OKay....

r♡serose-marie Thursday, February 2, 2012 9:53:40 AM

Sounds like a perfect present, then yes

Have you read 'Ancient Evenings' by Norman Mailer, Rose? It's outstanding up

Redshigen Saturday, February 11, 2012 8:22:40 PM

Of COURRRRSE you're pretty bigsmilebigsmile
I had mine removed I think a year or two ago, now?
They knocked me out with LAUGHONG GAS (not supposed to), and there were complications. One wouldn't stop bleeding, and a nerve was blocking the other, so they whacked it and I couldn't feel half my face/chin for a few months...
