Fact Of The Month

,

They say that we learn something new every day.
But what happens if, one day, you awake, and there's nothing to be learned?
Who will teach you?
Who will show you the way?
In the name of all that is good and decent in this world of sickness and streets paved with goo, just who shall lift you up into a cloud of smoggy green knowledge?! Who will stick you your dose of needed randomosity? WHO?!
Fear not, citizens, for Kimmie shall provide for one whole day, twelve times a year!

September's Fact:

The microwave was invented after a researcher walked by a radar tube...

And a chocolate bar melted in his pocket.

Friends Only... Again!

Click me nervous
For the rest of you... I ask you what my Aunt asked the world yesterday -
Why do they call it a building when it's already built?

No More Friend Requests!

,

The fact there was no way to "no" every friend request in one swoop was bugging me. I had nearly 600 of the buggering things, and I had managed to get it down to 400-odd... But it took me about an hour and a half.
Well, thanks to Mini 4, I just got rid of all of those in about 20 minutes, by simply clicking "no", and as soon as the word "connecting" became "processing", I clicked to stop, then moved to the next "no", "connecting", "processing", "stop". 40 a page, reload, and 40 half-clicked people go bye-bye!
(I accidentally added 4, so hastily had to retract - sorry) but, yay!
:hat: I love Mini 4

Nose Slim and Lite

,

Okay, so, it's no secret that I used to be a fat child. Nor is it a secret that over the last few years I've lost a lot of weight.

Now, I don't have many pictures of me that aren't within the last 6 months, but I did find a couple from 2-4 years ago, when I was about 30 pounds heavier. I know that you can't really tell much from poor quality photos, but you can tell some. It is most noticeable around the cheeks, eyes and nose.

My heavier photos are on the left - recent photos to compare on the right.

I suppose it is difficult to see just how much my face has changed from these photos rather than having known me for say, five years, but I thought the nose shrinkage in particular was noticeable.
No?

A Tiny Comfort

, ,

Both Mik and I have been feeling a little under the weather lately, so today I decided to make a little something for both of us to cheer us up.
Yes, my penchant for tiny food is still going strong - and so, I dug out the tiny crockery and put a tiny amount of my favourite hot chocolate into each tiny cup...
(the lighter's there for comparison...)

And topped our tiny hot chocolates with tinier marshmallows

WANT! Of The Month

,

We are greedy creatures. We seek pleasure in many materialistic forms - some opt for attire, some prefer media, others beauty products, gadgets, food... You name it, someone gets their kicks from it. Sometimes the type of thing we've been lusting over can change, depending on our mood, our requirements, or... The month.
This is what I've spent most of my drooling time thinking about this month...

September's WANT! -

Is a t-shirt. I tried to find a decent sized image, but alas, there was none. The product page requires flash, but there's a thumbnail image of the t-shirt for Mini users to see, although it's bloody tiny. Anyway, it's
Here. :D

Another Friends Only

Cuisine Of The Month

, ,

Food. A necessity of life. You have to eat to live... And some live to eat. Whatever your personal philosophy on food, you cannot deny the importance it has in our lives.

Whether you a little or a lot, it's good to enjoy what you do eat. A good dish feeds not only our bellies, but our souls.

I've taken it upon myself to detail one particular cuisine that appeals to me, once every month.

Why?

Because food is good.

September's Cuisine:

Kimmie's Coffee-Chocolate Chip Muffins
(Makes 12)

Bitter and sweet, moist and fluffy muffins, you either love them or hate them.
You will need:

1 and a half cups (200g) plain flour

1 and a half teaspoons baking powder

Half teaspoon salt

Half cup (100g) margarine or butter

Quarter packed cup (50g) light muscovado sugar

Quarter cup (60ml) milk

Quarter cup (60ml) water

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla essence

1 heaped tablespoon instant coffee

100g dark chocolate chips

Put the milk and the water into a cup or mug, add the coffee and stir until it has dissolved. Set it aside.

Sieve the flour, baking powder and salt together into a bowl and mix. Set the bowl aside, too, for now.

In another bowl, beat the sugar and the butter/margarine together until light and fluffy. Add in the vanilla and the egg, and beat again until thoroughly combined.

Once you've done that, pour the flour mixture into the butter mixture, add the chocolate chips on top, and pour the coffee mixture all over it.

Gently fold all your ingredients together until they are just combined, and spoon into muffin pans.

Bake at 180 celsius for 12-15 minutes.

Once cooled, you can store in an airtight container or freezer. They're best served warm - a few seconds in the microwave does the trick. If you want something extra special, put a scoop of vanilla ice-cream onto your warm muffin and eat with a spoon.
