Saturday Blues

I don't know about some of you, but personally, I got the blues lately. I used to post overpersonal, long, awkward posts about how I felt, but things have changed now.

Seems like so many of us are so very blue lately. Some of us have reasons, some of us just feel this way. Some of us talk about it, some of us hide behind other things and attempt to be outwardly okay.

Well, here's a little idea, inspired by Mik and Clint's little "Opera Duel" (Mik said the first one to PM Demiphonic with the lyrics to I'm A Little Teapot would win - Clint won) - we're going to play a little Opera Dare.

If you wanna play Opera Dare, comment here, okay? Perhaps we can get a little fun! It'll work like this: One of us will come up with a dare. The first one out of all the participants to do it will direct everyone to the proof, and as a reward for doing the dare they will choose the next one.

The game commences soon. Be prepared...

Dear 3,
Your phone service is such an experience. Many a time I recant our correspondence - me, explaining very simply, a problem - and you, talking too fast, making promises and feeding me unbelievable lies and not knowing what the hell you're going on about.

I am writing to tell you that you make me mad.


I have decided that it's in both of our best interests for me to seek another network. I know we should be civil and mature about this, but when I think of doing so, the many idle hours wasted due to your idiotic negligence springs to mind.

I feel I should give you my reason, as we spent so much time together, and I'll tell you - it took me seven minutes to get to each watched item on my favourite site today. Sometimes those seven minutes would result in a request time-out. It then took me seven minutes to comment, sometimes those would not go through.

I have had to forego family and friends on IM for a while, as you would not allow me access to my applications.

So, goodbye. I will never be near you again. I shall be adult about this...

PPPPPFFFFFFFTTT!
I've left you for a network that knows how to please a phonie. You never knew where my access points were, and T-Mobile does everything you can't!!

Just a personal note

I'm not able to get here much. Yesterday was spent mostly in tears - I spent around 33 hours awake, and my phone wouldn't connect with my Java applications at all - No Opera, no MSN...

So throughout the day, I backed up my phone contents to the PC, wiped my memory card and did a master reset on my phone, then put my stuff back on from the PC. Nada.

The thing was, it'd connect with 3G. Just not GSM. The problem is, in this place we can't maintain a 3G signal. And it didn't make sense - GSM worked for my normal phone browser, which is unusable for My Opera.

So, I wiped over 300 songs, 200 photos. Completely reset my phone. Downloaded Opera Mini 3 and 4, Gmail and eBuddy. And guess what?

Turns out it's a strange network problem. And it doesn't make sense - the problem is selective to Java applications. Symbian seem to work ok.

I'm here with 3G for now, but it won't stick for long, it never does. I hope it will fix itself soon. I've slept ten hours now and am feeling a lot more together.

You wouldn't BELIEVE what that just took me! And it's probably all totally wrong, too :frown: .

Well, it took me about two solid hours of study, I did most of this (probably unintelligable mess) completely on my own. Then I had to turn my phone's language to German so I could get certain characters, and take predictive spelling off and do it by hand because it kept changing what I'd typed. Someone please tell me at least some of this is right... And just so you know I will get a lot better, Tilla is going to teach me and I only started learning yesterday.
So. How bad is it...?

Favourite artist.
This is a really tough one because I like a few... But mainly I like Dali , and Monet . But one of my favourite paintings has to be The Starry Night , by Van Gogh.

Things I would like to change about myself.
I would like to like myself a whole lot more. People that care for me wouldn't suffer so much if I did.
I would also like to be a little more strong and defend myself, state my opinions, say no.

Things I like about myself.
If there's one good thing about me, it's my morals. Even if I don't make them known much, they're there and I have a good sense of what's right and wrong.
The other thing is that I'm a very quick learner.

Duh, MOVING AWAY! From this stupid house, stupid town, stupid people.

One year...

A year ago today I joined My Opera. I didn't really want to though - I had been anti-blog for a long time. I realise now that this was due to the likes of MySpace, Bebo and Facebook. Anyway, I was, at that time, already a member of a WAP chatsite, and that very morning I'd seen something in those forums that ticked me off. So, I made my very first blog post about it. It was also my very first rant!

Now, Opera has given me a lot of bad, a lot of good. Here is the good:

I met Clint very quickly, through Mik. He became my very first Opera buddy. He seemed like a cool guy, and I liked his sense of humour. He helped me with the smileys, and made me feel incredibly welcome. And he's even more special to me today. The next person I met was Issy , also through Mik. She was very kind and sweet to me, and also made me feel very welcome. She's still kind and sweet!

Through Clint, I met Kitty . Now, I was incredibly unsure of her at first. I didn't think we'd get along... And I remember a problem she had with an online shoe company, too. I helped her draft a letter to the company, and she made me feel very useful. Now, I know she's the best Kitty ever, and you know her English is superb. She's someone I wouldn't be happy without. Through Clint, I also met Fan . Again, I was very unsure about her, too, but as with Kitty, this dissolved quickly and she soon became one of the brightest rays of sunshine I'm blessed with.

Then, I met Stomyr , through Issy's blog. I'd seen him comment there and he seemed kinda cool, so I added him. He's always been so helpful and kind, and the loveliest Tiger there is.
