Good Day
Tuesday, November 23, 2010 4:10:10 PM
Well, apart from the restless night and the spider on the wall at 6 this morning
.
Why was it awesome? I will tell you.
1. We went into the village with Mum today and I found a few things;
My favourite biscuits in a large, seasonal, cheap pack.
I also have just a mascara to my name right now, and found a 3 for 2 offer at Boots the chemist on all make up, so I managed to get a neutral eyeshadow duo, an eyeliner and a lipgloss for dirt cheap.
Then I bought a couple of Kinder Surprise, both of which were new toys. One's a dinosaur ans the other is a skiing girl thing.
2. Did you know that those two toys make my Kinder collection a big 302 toys?
3. Mum made us a roast chicken dinner, followed by cherry pie
.
4. You may or may not know that I'm a member of a panel called Toluna. Basically, you sign up and take consumer surveys on a variety of subjects. It's not an easy process - you are invited to surveys that often, you're not eligible for, and it's also not uncommon to screen out of a survey after spending half and hour on it. You're awarded roughly 1,000 to 10,000 points per survey (mostly between 1,000 and 3,000) and when you've finally got 80,000 points (and when they get around to giving you those points) you can order vouchers for £15. I choose Amazon ones. Then, of course, is the wait for the voucher to be given to you.
Anyway, as of this morning they owed me an impressive £60 of vouchers having processed one of the original five a few days ago. I logged in at Mum's to find they'd processed another two, giving me enough for some chargeable batteries for the Xbox 360 and also a hoodie I've been dying for for ages but would never spend cash on. It's this:
and I really am in love with it.
I have spent tedious hour after frustrating hour - days worth - doing these surveys whenever I can, and it feel really good to "earn" it.
Toluna's a bit of a pain with the screening out, waiting for rewards and such, but it's worth it. Plus, sometimes you get to test small products, and not just the ones on their product test page.
5. I got to vacuum up Mum's house today. Her Hoover is really, really powerful - I have to get all my weight behind the thing to get it to move along the carpet. Having three cats, the place gets covered in hair
. While vacuuming in itself isn't particularly pleasant, helping Mum is. I also shampooed and scrubbed the cream coloured parts of the giant rug in the lounge room there to get rid of the grubby bits. It felt good!
6. The First Fable 3 missions DLC came out today, which is pretty cool. I'm not fussed right now, but Mik's super into it and he's really chuffed.
Now, I'm really tired. I've not been my best for nerves and stuff lately and big emotions really take it out of me. I'm off to get myself a cup of green tea with lemon and snuggle under a blanket for a while. I hope you guys are having/had a good day too.

I'm a member of such a panel too, but I don't earn vouchers like you do. Instead they are drawing lots between the participants. I've won cinema tickets once, and a tour to a local tea house once. :yum:

Kitty - isn't it though? I loved it as soon as I saw it.
Winning stuff is cool - I'm on a panel that does a certain prize for each survey as well as toluna, but so far over 600 surveys and no prize

<swigs diet gignger beer> now, where's the sodding hoover?...)
** btw - and sorry - the vocalised expression "shame - au" is a NZ thing, and if you were a Maori you would know implicitly what I'm saying...."shaaaaaame". Au.
Spaggyj # Friday, November 26, 2010 12:16:27 PM
Why the au?
FlaRin # Friday, November 26, 2010 11:11:30 PM
The "auuu" sound at the end (sounding a bit like the end of the word meaow) is just...there, sometimes haha...I'll think about it a bit more & try to explain properly a bit later, but have to rush out for this weekend's Dansk lesson
