Blade

I never knew that Blade was a Marvel creation. Silly me...
The first time I saw this film was in 2000, and I was so tired and off my face that the fight scenes went to quickly for me. The last time I saw it was in 2002, and I watched it properly that time. We bought it on DVD while we were on holiday, and we've just watched it again.
This is one of my favourite movies, and the only one of the trilogy that I liked. I don't care what anyone says - the sequels were complete shite. Why? Because Wesley Snipes MORE than proved he was capable of doing his own stunts in the first film, the action sequences were beautifully choreographed, and what did they do? MADE EVERYTHING CG IN THE SEQUELS. I imagine they were aiming for the movements to appear 'supernatural', but the product was that of computer game graphics.
The only thing I liked about the sequels was the casting of Cat (from Red Dwarf - actor Danny John Jules) because it was nice to see him again. They took some quality away from the franchise with the idiotic idea of making everything CG.
I'm not saying that the original Blade is perfect - some of the CG is really crap, but it doesn't deter from the gory excellence it was and STILL continues to be. I love this film, it's a classic.
If there is ANYONE at all out there who's never seen Blade, I strongly urge you to do you. You'll enjoy it immensely - as long as you don't mind vampires and gore - it's a classic no-brainer.
Kimmy's final thought - LOOK at Stephen Dorff! He's so liccle! Ya just want to grab his little chop!

Snipes tried a bit too hard to be a bad ass and that bugged me alot..
The last one with Purcell was ok, I liked the alternate endings..

Hi Stomyr.
Hey Marcus, you were well advised, but for some reason I'd advise watching them, I think just to end the trilogy.
Mik, I think you're right. And it probably worked, too.

As a no nonsense quick action flick I'd watch it any day.. when the moon turns blue..
