Resident EEEVIL..... FOUR...

,

That's the best way I could capture the voice of the guy that says 'Resident Evil' in all the games in text, anyway.

We got this game when it originally came out for the Nintendo Gamecube a coupla years back - and our copy of the same game for the PS2 arrived yesterday. Now, I know it's a late buy, but we've not long bought our 8th PS2 (We swore we'd never buy another since the 7th one broke, but, never mind) and we were playing loads of games we hadn't had the chance to play up until recently.

Anyway, back on topic.

The graphics are indeed a TAD crummier than the GC version, but I think the controls using the PS2 pad in comparison to the GC one more than make up for that. The 'Cube controllers were just so DAMN clunky. Ugh. The quicktime events were AWFUL on the Gamecube. We involuntarily memorised the dialogue for the Krauser event, having failed so often. I still remember most of it.

What's also cool is the addition of 'Separate Ways', (the same storyline, but from Ada's viewpoint) which was never on the GC version. Of course it's not as in-depth as the game 'proper', but you find out a little bit more about why certain things occurred certain ways. Of course 'Assignment Ada' and 'The Mercenaries' are still available on this version, which I'm happy with.

So, that's why we've been kinda ghosts at the moment - We're enjoying exploding villagers' heads and engaging the TV screen in Bruce Campbell 'Ash' type farewells to the evil parasitic fuckers as they get blasted into oblivion.
:D
