Purple Realm

Oh My!

, , ,

  • Firstly - Mik loves B Movies. I.. Do not. He's making me watch Salem's Lot the Miniseries from 1979. I think this counts as spousal abuse.
  • Did you know I have not slept a full night in about 3 months? faint
  • We have a real busy week ahead. Wednesday is a day when we'll have a visit from Dad, his wife (who I've not seen for over two years) my youngest sister (also not seen for over two years) the middle sister (who I saw a month or two ago) and my second youngest sister (who I have not seen for over a year). That makes seven of us in our little flat with a four-seater sofa lol . It is going to be great to see everyone, but I'm gonna be so worn out afterward.
  • Friday brings Gran over bigsmile more than a week apart and we really miss one another. Last time she was here she said, "why does your shower curtain insist on telling me over and over that I'm in the bathroom?" lol (Our shower curtain is clear with "salle de bains" written all over it in different fonts and shades.)
  • I'm up to over 250 Kinder toys now!
  • Ya know the friends-only pic I posted this morning? Check back to one September last year. Notice the size difference bigeyes . Neither Mik nor I realised just how much the difference was until I found that picture this morning.
  • Good heavens, this damn miniseries still ain't over.
  • PS - Mik? Love you, babe love but make me sit through this crud again and you'll get no more love mad

Want It, Gonna Have ItCarry on, fuckers

lol Have you seen "Split Second" with Rutger Hauer? left Mik and I dance the same film jig. How strange that my ex lives in Florida. p

Dacotah Saturday, August 7, 2010 10:17:23 PM

Sorry to hear about not getting a full nights sleep.
Wow, that will be a full place you have Wednesday.
Glad you get to see your Gran Friday.
faint That's a lot of them kinder toys, how many do they have?
Could you post a link to the one September one on the new friends only post?

Spaggyj Saturday, August 7, 2010 10:55:50 PM

Gavin - no... From the sounds of it I don't wanna p .

Carol - no worries. I'm doing okay. Yeah, it's gonna be a big visit on Wednesday lol .
Kinder toys? They do a new batch each year, with different special, limited edition sets released at certain intervals too per year alongside that year's toys. Hundreds, I'd imagine. Link's posted up

Dacotah Saturday, August 7, 2010 11:28:42 PM

Sorry, hard not to worry.

lol A nice big visit. smile

Oh, I see. So you still can collect more. smile

It's not spousal abuse to share something you love with someone you love. mad Next on the list is 1974s brilliant Kolchak The Night Stalker series. This one has all the style and effects of B-movies, but has quite decent scripting and camera work for the most part. It also started my lifelong fear of doppelgangers. scared

Darkogdare Sunday, August 8, 2010 4:34:38 AM

With so many visitors in one day, you better feed them good. Time for hungarian goulash!!! chef

p

Spaggyj Sunday, August 8, 2010 8:44:53 AM

Carol - yep smile .

Babe - still don't forgive you for Twin Peaks mad .

Dark - lol I'm not feeding them anyway p

Gavin Tripp-Sheedygarlingmatthews Sunday, August 8, 2010 9:07:42 AM

I have Kolchak too. Waaaay better than the X-Files. Oh dear, Mik. What did they do to us?

KittyliciousZaphira Sunday, August 8, 2010 9:12:24 AM

Sounds like a busy, but good week, you've got ahead of you happy

The weight loss thing: It's more likely that you don't notice when people you see every day lose weight, because it goes slowly. smile

*goes to check to see for myself*

Spaggyj Sunday, August 8, 2010 9:32:28 AM

I don't know that anyone here will see it, Kitty. Both Mik and I have been surprised when people have made such a big deal offline. I suppose seeing someone with your own eyes is different to a photo. *shrugs* I don't really know. Or care.

Dacotah Sunday, August 8, 2010 1:15:07 PM

Well you will have to build them a house to live since the collection goes on.
bigsmile

Spaggyj Sunday, August 8, 2010 1:36:52 PM

Nah, got a little drawer unit for them now.

Dacotah Sunday, August 8, 2010 3:50:30 PM

Oh, okay.
Just kidding.

Mad Scientistqlue Monday, August 9, 2010 8:00:56 AM

Poor Kimmie, now you'll just have to find a movie Mik doesn't like to pay him back! devil.

Spaggyj Monday, August 9, 2010 9:35:11 AM

I'll just make him watch the Spongebob Movie p

KittyliciousZaphira Monday, August 9, 2010 10:02:41 AM

I bought that movie this Saturday! bigsmile

Spaggyj Monday, August 9, 2010 10:26:04 AM

It's awesome smile

Dark FurieFurie Monday, August 9, 2010 10:42:25 AM

sing Now that we're men.

Cleanclean Friday, August 13, 2010 4:17:12 AM

What about The Stand? I watched it in one sitting then years later as a week-to-week thing when it was repeated on TV and preferred the one sitting. The characters seem to develop more in hours and hours of straight watching as opposed to a week between episodes. Does that make sense?

Spaggyj Friday, August 13, 2010 6:34:32 AM

Never heard of it before. That does make sense to me, some things flow better without breaks.

Gavin Tripp-Sheedygarlingmatthews Friday, August 13, 2010 7:23:02 AM

That was Stephen King, right? Never saw the end.

Cleanclean Friday, August 13, 2010 8:56:37 AM

Yep, Stephen King. Should've mentioned that (though I figured anyone who watched 'Salem's Lot would know about other King-oriented TV - my bad).

Oooh, Salem's Lot. I remember reading that book when I was 10-12 years old, I think. (How my parents didn't notice, I'll never know...)
I read it on a summer while visiting my grandparents. I stayed in the "outer room", facing they wine yard, and being the outer room there were lots of windows on three sides. Windows with vines all over. Vines that sort of knocked on the windows when there was a nightly breeze. Scared the hell out of me! lol

Cleanclean Wednesday, August 18, 2010 9:54:43 AM

lol

Spaggyj Wednesday, August 18, 2010 10:45:32 AM

I've never read the book, but I imagine it's much better than the miniseries. Cute personal story awww lol

Dark FurieFurie Wednesday, August 18, 2010 11:08:40 AM

The reason we got it is that the library I used as a kid had a copy, but loads of pages had been ripped out. bomb

Mad Scientistqlue Wednesday, August 18, 2010 5:01:53 PM

Censorship! yikes
