Purple Realm

Had a rather crap day... Still haven't gotten around to buying kitchen scales or proper measuring cups so two attempts at baking failed. . I'm gonna buy measuring cups this week as I prefer those to measure with, and I'll get the scales later. I'll retry my failed stuff another day.

Did make a great toad-in-the-hole for lunch, though, so time was not completely wasted in the kitchen. Just mostly.

Pretty uneventful day really, got up, had breakfast, drank green tea, did some more on a picture I'm drawing for my dad, played a little on the 360, watched some 8 Simple Rules and Futurama, did some basic aerobics and pilates, blah blah blah...

My dad called at around nine this evening, half-drunk, and that was fun. The first thing he said was, "what do you want for Christmas?" followed by "ask Miklemus what he wants." I told him I'd really love some silicone bakeware, and after explaining to him that no, it doesn't melt in the oven (everyone wonders this) he jotted down the specifics for me .

When I told him how much it'd be, he said that we needed to request another gift on top as he'd budgeted more money than that for us. I tried to refuse but he insisted - which is just like him - and he suggested a game perhaps, for the 360. We told him we'll let him know. I said that I'll wait to see if he forgets and he got mad, LOL. That was really nice, anyway. I love hearing from my dad, even though I'm crap on the phone and can never think of anything to say.

We chatted for a bit about everything and nothing, and hung up. That phone call has lifted my bad mood quite a bit - always does.

He's probably the only thing I miss about the town we used to live in - I guess I kinda got used to him being near and it's a little weird without him. But I still love living here!

Well, tomorrow I'll either find measuring cups or won't, and I'll either attempt something with or without the cups. I'll see how I feel.

Also got a bunch of museum posts lined up, had the photos for ages but just been too lazy to transfer to the pc, then to my phone, then downsize each image, then upload to Ovi, then link to each image individually. It's a long process.

Tomorrow's forecast - a day of Spongebob PJs, exercise, cleaning, cooking, a long shower and facemask, a little more art and a little tv.
