So Many Muffins!

, ,

I just made 73 dark chocolate chip muffins. And they cost £1.14 in total, which is roughly 1.5pence per muffin. Good value, eh?
(sorry, phone camera rubbish. And yes, there's five missing. We ate them.)

Anyone with vision better than that of a flying marsupial can tell that there's something different about the size of these muffins. Perhaps the big white kettle on the right gives it away? Or do I just have the biggest kitchen drawer handles in the universe ?

Yup. They're my very own Dark Chocolate Chip Mini Muffins. Look how cute...
I attempted tiny muffins for the first time a couple weeks ago, and now I've had demands... Even though my first ones spilled over the cases, they are sought after. And I bet even moreso now they are in good shape...
How many people remembered that I like tiny food? :D

I didn't remember that, but these are very cute!
It can't take more than, what?, 7-8 minutes in the oven?

P:

Moesring 15. April 2009, 17:21

They look kitty sized. :yes::Zaphira:

Just how small are they?
I think they look a little underdone to be honest, but that might be due to lighting or whatever. :o:

Yay on your mini muffins being sought after.
 Maybe you could sell them. I'd buy them.
:sst: If they were Minstrels-flavoured, that is. P::Minstrels:

Kitty 15. April 2009, 17:22

Kitty sized muffins are the best!

Kimmie 15. April 2009, 17:27

About 9 minutes at 160 degrees, Kitty.
Moe, actually they are a little pale - partially due to crappy flash in dim room, partially because I don't make them very brown - they go dry very quickly otherwise.

Marike 15. April 2009, 19:08

They look yummy!!! *drools* did you make them with a special recipe for mini muffins? Or will anyone do?

Carol 15. April 2009, 19:45

Yummy. :D

Darko 15. April 2009, 20:25

It would be nice to have some now :chef:

The Dark Furie 15. April 2009, 20:30

I love these. It gives me Darko's perspective of the world.

Darko 15. April 2009, 20:51

Exactly

Moesring 15. April 2009, 20:52

You're really lucky Mik because you can taste the muffins she bakes.
The rest of us can only drool over the pictures and fantasise. awww

Kimmie 15. April 2009, 21:08

Marike, I make them with my own recipe - but it is my standard recipe, which I use for any size. One batch makes 12 normal size, or 6 mega size, or 70-odd tiny ones. You need like half a teaspoon of batter for each one, so it takes time to use up all the batter :D . So, any recipe should do, just know it'll make a lot!

Wish I could send some, Carol and Dark. Probably would be mouldy by the time they got to you awww .

I could perhaps send some to you one day, dear Moe, seeing as you live a couple days postage away.

Jen 15. April 2009, 21:09

*drools* did you say dark chocolate chip??

Never had those before, but I do wanna try now. I adore dark chocolate.

They're so cute all lined up so... :o:. I make my baked stuff a touch underdone too. Nothing worse than hard muffins or cookies. They look purr-fect Kimmie!

*giggles* Reminds me of those gorgeous blueberry muffins you made before... Your food posts always make me hungry! :chef: Are you going to sell them? Sounds like you've had some interest....

Marike 15. April 2009, 21:28

Thanks Kimmie, :D I will try it sometime... my kids love muffins p:

Carol 15. April 2009, 21:41

Awww, thanks Kimmie, wish I could fly over to your place and try some. I'd be too mouldy and stinky by the time I got there. :D

The Dark Furie 15. April 2009, 22:00

Memo to self - find some porn links to send to Moe.

Moesring 15. April 2009, 22:03

I'm still having nightmares about the one you sent me a while ago. :yuck:

The Dark Furie 15. April 2009, 22:17

That wasn't a porn link, just an Opera blog by someone who obviously has more food in her than clothes on her. No way I was gonna be the only one to suffer seeing that before I had her banned.

Kimmie 15. April 2009, 22:23

Thanks Jen - I'm the same way. Baked goods should be soft and moist. Nah, they're not gonna be sold, it's family that like em  .

You're welcome Marike - I hope they turn out good  .

Carol, you can shower at the airport - showering a muffin is likely to accelerate the process of mould  .

Carol 15. April 2009, 22:38

They have showers at your airport?
Never heard of that. Might accelerate my process too. :D

The Dark Furie 15. April 2009, 23:20

Except brownies. Brownies should be dry as the Sahara and twice as large. :chef:

Cois 16. April 2009, 05:20

I'll take two large trays of those please! :chef:

Karen 16. April 2009, 05:56

:o: Adorable! Those tiny little papers would make awesome cupcakes as well.

Marike 16. April 2009, 06:01

Yummy brownies *more drool* do you make them too

r♡se 16. April 2009, 09:48

Awww, look at those! Perfect size for a little bite
I remembered your small food fetish, but I don't remember exactly what it was,... Mini burger?

Kimmie 16. April 2009, 10:13

Carol - most airports have bathing facilities, right? :left: .

Mik - I disagree. Brownies should be chewy on the outside, gooey in the centre.

Clint - greedy p: . Still aint sent out yours or Marts stuff yet :left: .

Karen - cupcakes, muffins. Only difference is sweetness. *shrug*

Marike - actually, I've not tried making up my own recipe for brownies yet. I'll put it on my to-do list p: .

Rosie - thanks! You remembered too... And you're correct  it was miniature burgers I posted about

Carol 16. April 2009, 10:31

Kimmie, I don't fly much and the little I have it never took long so never asked about or saw any bathing facilities.

The Dark Furie 16. April 2009, 10:50

Dry!

Stomyr 16. April 2009, 18:38

*YUMMY*

Kimmie 16. April 2009, 20:26

Carol - me either, but I kinda assume... Eh. Maybe I'm wrong :D .

Mik - no.

Stomyr - :D

Carol 16. April 2009, 20:46

:D

Cois 17. April 2009, 09:58

Kim you git p: told you . .

Anyway.. I got a thing for eating good food and indulging myself to the full extent p:

Mart 17. April 2009, 10:35

Tiny muffins sound much more my thing than regular ones :chef:
As for showers in airports, i've been in five airports in the last twelve months and the only place i saw a shower was Singapore's business lounge. Doesn't mean they're not around in the others, although i'm almost certain Manchester doesn't, and i wouldn't wish a London airport on anyone.
I'm sure our resident globe-trotter rose-marie can shed a bit more light :sherlock:

r♡se 17. April 2009, 11:51

Business lounge, eh?

To be honest, I haven't looked for showers at the airports I've been to, but there are rest areas, silent areas, worship areas, family areas (whatever that is) and lots of other different areas so I wouldn't be surprised if there were shower areas too :D.

The longest time I've spent in an airport was 11 hours on O'Hare (Chicago). Got there around 4 in the morning. Everything was closed, and I was restricted to one terminal :ko:.
I could really have used a shower there!

Darko 17. April 2009, 12:20

I have spent 17 hours in Milan-Malpensa airport two years ago, from 17h to 10h next morning. Everything closed, only me and 3 people from some place in Africa who spoke three words in English (including "yes" and "no"). I discovered my flight to Belgrade was cancelled after 11 hours flight from Tokyo. Alitalia stuff gave me voucher for dinner but guy in restaurant refused to take it. Shower was just a dream :irked:
I will never fly with Alitalia again.

Kimmie 17. April 2009, 16:07

Clint - and I told you. No worries anyway, it's gonna take a while.

Mart - yeah? How come tiny ones sound better? Airport shower thing - oh. I have been on a plane four times, all when I was a kid  . You'd think they'd have facilities for washing! Arses!

Rosie - 11 hours stuck in one terminal?! Move over, Tom Hanks  .

Dark - Geez, that's terrible :eyes: you can be Tom Hanks instead!

Darko 17. April 2009, 17:07

I felt so lonely... and sleepy... and hungry :irked:

Kimmie 17. April 2009, 17:53

I bet you did! That's bloody awful :irked: !

r♡se 17. April 2009, 23:05

*phew* I'd hate to be Tom Hanks! Thanks Dark :D

Darko 18. April 2009, 06:12

I got voucher for a hotel room with transportation as well, but Alitalia stuff "forgot" I need a visa to enter Schengen country. When I tried to explain to a border police officer what happened, he just shook his head and said: "Ahh, Alitalia, Alitalia...." For one second I thought he will let me go, then he put me back to reality: "It is no possible. No Schengen visa." Then tossed my passport back and looked at me like I am incredibly stupid to even ask him that.
I felt stupid, he was right.

Cois 18. April 2009, 08:22

And you didn't spit in his face? awww

Darko 18. April 2009, 08:41

I didn`t want to spend some time in Italian prison. Airport was more than enough :left:

Cois 18. April 2009, 08:58

It's funny but it seems 'customer care' means something wayy different to those that are supposed to help us :irked:

Darko 18. April 2009, 09:51

In animal farm all the animals are equal... some of them are more equal than the others. Sounds familiar? :left:
This is the life *shrugs*

Mart 22. April 2009, 11:12

I've only flown business class once, and that was out of my own pocket after the economy flights were all full and i had to fly on that day. Damn expensive, but the seats were great fun :D

My worst was seven hours in Amsterdam, which itself was caused by six hours in Singapore waiting for a plane to be fixed. All told it was 38 hours door-to-door, done without sleep and starting with 2 hours sleep the night before the journey. Good airports to wait in, but i was a wreck when i got home.

Darko 22. April 2009, 11:13

Plus what? 6 or 7 hours of time difference? :faint:

Mart 22. April 2009, 11:20

Seven at the time

Carol 22. April 2009, 11:21

Welcome back Mart, missed you.
