Random Fact Of The Month

,

They say that we learn something new every day.
But what happens if, one day, you awake, and you find there's nothing to be learned?
Who will teach you?
Who will lead you?
In the name of all that is stupid and pointless in this world of necessity and streets paved with crap, just who shall push you facefirst into a pool of sludgy brown knowledge? Who will forcefeed you your spoonful of needed randomosity? WHO?!
Fear not, citizens, for Kimmie shall provide for one whole day, twelve times a year!

October's Fact:
The only state in the USA to never have had an earthquake...

Is North Dakota.

Zaphira 30. October 2009, 19:48

Hahaha, talk about getting it all wrong! Homer: Doh! @ self!

It was just a weird and totally surprising fact of the month - therefore the "umm". :D

Spaggyj 30. October 2009, 19:49

Thanks for the extra info for everyone Carol :D .

Kitty - you put all that in "umm"? you expect me to read your mind, woman? p:

Dacotah 30. October 2009, 19:53

You are welcome Kimmie. :D

garlingmatthews 30. October 2009, 20:01

I managed to sleep through both quakes that I was in the area of. Earth, I mock your feargiving capabilities.

*Rumble*...

Furie 30. October 2009, 20:19

Carol is the god of quakes and she's punishing us all!

Dacotah 30. October 2009, 21:09

 I'm making trolls shake from the earthquakes. p: :D

clean 30. October 2009, 21:12

And rhymes! You're also busting rhymes!

rose-marie 30. October 2009, 21:16

Haha! Who would've thought that...
You have so much knowledge, Kimmie. Where do you get it all from?

rose-marie 30. October 2009, 21:16

Oooh, me like your new pic!

garlingmatthews 30. October 2009, 21:17

Yes, it's cool

Spaggyj 30. October 2009, 22:02

 @ Carol, god of quakes p: .

Gavin, I think I've been around for two earthquakes, I was already awake for one but slept right through the other  . And thanks :D .

Rosie, actually I've got a random fact generator bookmarked  , I just refresh over and over until I find one that appeals to me p: . And thank you  Might actually stick with this one p:

rose-marie 30. October 2009, 22:08

 Do you read all the random facts out loud to Mik?

The new pic goes very well with the avatar and all-around theme

Dacotah 30. October 2009, 22:09

Yep, that's me. p: :D

Furie 30. October 2009, 23:52

Would Mik be as obviously sane as he is if she did? p:

KYren 31. October 2009, 05:23

I witnessed this earthquake. For many months we slept outdoor out of fear of the after shocks.

gdare 31. October 2009, 06:20

Actually, I find this fact very interesting. Do you, maybe know, which country in the world has never had an earthquake?

:sst: if you know, maybe you should not say it out loud because goddess of earthquakes will send one there :left:

Furie 31. October 2009, 11:34

I don't know if there is a country that hasn't had an earthquake. :eyes: I suppose that with changing borderlines there has been a country at some point that hasn't had one but I wonder if it still exists?

Spaggyj 31. October 2009, 12:03

Rosie - no  . It fits? Oh good. Couldn't be bothered to go to full site and turn off mobile view p: .

Kiran, that must've been hard.

Dark - as Mik says I don't know if there is one... But yes, I found this particular fact interesting as well.

KYren 31. October 2009, 12:05

Only the countries that aren't on the Earth hadn't had earthquakes. For examples, the countries on the Mars have marsquakes.

Stomyr 31. October 2009, 13:13

qlue 6. November 2009, 04:24

I grew up in Jo'burg, there you get frequent 'earth tremors' (little earthquakes) due to the mining activities. We had a visitor once from Cape Town, he freaked out at the first earth tremor he'd experienced in his life. p:. We didn't even notice it. :left:.

theoddbod 11. November 2009, 08:27

We don't really get much in the way of earhquakes here, less even than North Dakota p:

As for sleeping through earthquakes, Fanny's brother slept through this...indeed, he sleeps through every single earthquake no matter how strong

gdare 11. November 2009, 09:54

Homer: Doh!

qlue 15. November 2009, 18:05

I can't view that page in FireFox Mart! awww.
FireFox complains about an, "invalid form of compression" :irked:.

Zaphira 15. November 2009, 18:06

I can see it, and I'm using FireFox as well.

garlingmatthews 15. November 2009, 20:36

Hum. Works fine in Opera. Weird.

qlue 15. November 2009, 21:23

I get this .

theoddbod 15. November 2009, 22:29

What version of Firefox? Google seems to say it was an occasional problem with caching in version 3.

garlingmatthews 16. November 2009, 03:44

And you could see if the the Google saved version works. Google rocks. Amen.

KYren 16. November 2009, 03:57

Operazines actually use Firefox. :D I can easily see the page in Opera Mini.
