Let me know what you think!

When I Love You the Most

It’s been said to me
I only love you when I drink
That was strong words to hear
That really made me think

What is it that I do
To make you feel this way
Is it because of something I did
Or something I didn’t Say

You know I’m only serious
When it’s something I hold dear
I’ve been known to be unable to control it
Sometimes to the point it brings me to tears

No matter what I’m happy
And grateful for all I own
And you know it’s because of you
And the love and patience you’ve shown

I truly seriously believe
Actions speaks louder than words
So if I don’t say how I feel
I try to make sure my actions can be heard

I’ve never told you no
And I’ve always took your side
I’ve always believed in you
And appreciate how hard you try

But no matter how good I may have been to you
You’ve been even better to me
You given me more than any woman could
And I’m as proud as any man could be

You gave me beautiful children
And accepted “Whats mine as Yours”
And made my house a home
And became a wife any man could adore

You’re always helping others
Always doing more than your share
And too often you’re overlooked
Like there's only a few that really care

Well I apologize to you now
If ever I made you feel unloved
If I ever made you feel unappreciated
Or for all the bad habits I’m guilty of

The truth is I LOVE YOU
More now than ever before
When I feel it could get no stronger
You give me reason to love you even more

Even when you’re mad at me
Or when PMS is giving you a dose
when you can’t seem to decide what to wear
That’s when I Love You the Most!

My Nights in the Gulf

As I look out into the darkness
With the moon reflecting on the water
I think of my family at home
My wife, my sons and my daughter

Wondering if there could be a chance
That they may be thinking the same
To ease the pain of my loneliness
It helps just to recite their name

Candy, my wife
Oh how I love her so dear
I’m so lucky to have her
How I wish she was here

Jacob, my oldest
My first born son
I couldn’t be more proud
Of the man he has become

Zeke, my second
Wise beyond his years
He never ceases to amaze me
To the point it brings me to tears

And then there’s Jillian
My very own “Daddy’s Girl”
Words cannot describe
The difference she’s made in my world

I hate being away from them
But that’s just something I must do
It’s the hand that life has dealt me
And I’m too old to start something new

So another day has past
Just one more day of my life
Spent away from the ones I love
My daughter, my sons and my wife

Lifes Real Treasures

There are so many treasures
That’s offered to us for free
Yet without value to be measured
Some people simply cannot see

They’re so often overlooked
While they’re presence cannot be denied
Unless they’re captured in a book
Most people let them pass on by

The treasures that I’m speaking of
Are things we encounter every day
They’re special things that some people love
While others let them slip away

The beauty of a rose
Sparkling in the early morning dew
A tree waving as the wind blows
In springtime with sky’s of blue

A sunset over open water
Waves lapping against the shore
A loving embrace between Mother and Daughter
A puppy in the window of a pet store

A grassy meadow of rolling hills
Wildflowers growing free
The sheer elegance of a daffodil
Are all priceless treasures to me

These simplicities of everyday life
Are the treasures of which I speak
Like the faithfulness of a newlywed wife
Or a loyal pet curled up at your feet

Some consider riches to be fortune and fame
But never appreciate what’s before their eyes
I feel totally different with nothing the same
Like the difference between the truth and lies

I count my blessings each and every day
To be so fortunate to be able to share
All the treasures that come my way
Each one so precious and oh so Very Rare!

Music that inspires me

TIME

Time is so precious
And it passes so fast
Seems like before you know it
The future has become the past

Time cannot be controlled
There’s no way to slow it down
All you can do is make the most of it
While the clock keeps going round

Some waste time worrying
About not having enough
While some waste time
Simply trying to do to much

Time well spent
Is as valuable as gold
Once it’s gone you’ll never get it back
Except in your memories of old

So often we overlook
When the time is right
To cherish the moments
Until they’re clearly out of sight

Money and possessions
Can never take the place
Of being there for a “first step”
Or sharing the smile on a childs face

You cannot put a price
On time spent together
With the one you’ve pledged your love
With the promises of forever

In our search for a treasure
I can tell you what’s mine
It’s the most precious to behold
It’s the treasure of TIME!

Everything Happens for a Reason

There are things that happen
In every mans life
That doesn’t make sense
Or doesn’t seem right

We can all have an opinion
Of what may be the cause
But there are no definite answers
No conclusions we can draw

Some call it luck
While others say it’s fate
Some believe in a higher power
While others have no excuses to make

So let me share with you
My opinion and thoughts
About why all things happen
And what may be the cause

I believe we all have
A path laid out complete
From the day we are born
To the day we are deceased

For every twist and turn
And every up and down
The path is where we must be
Every day we spend above ground

We’ll have trial and tribulations
With decisions to make
Knowing right from wrong
Our decisions chooses our fate

So when you ask why
Bad luck seems to rein
Think back about your path
Is it clean or are there stains

With that to think about
Let me leave you with this thought
When you wonder why you are where you are
Look at the luggage you brought

A Poor Mans Battle

There once was a time
When I wished I was older
When I had no worries at all
No responsibilities to shoulder

When things were more simple
And the days lasted forever
Thinking that when I grew up
Things would get even better

Then came the time
When I was old enough to work
I didn’t get to play as much
But a paycheck was one hell of a perk

Now I had money
To spend as I pleased
But no matter how much I’d make
It was only enough to tease

It seemed that everything I wanted
Was just out of my reach
And the bills started draining me
Like a blood hungry leech

Now I had no choice
Work was no longer an option
I needed to pay my bills
Or all I own would be up for adoption

So it’s been
since I turned 16
I could never look back
Never again has the slate been clean

I didn’t go to college
Because I didn’t like school
But if I had it to do again
I wouldn’t be such a fool

I’m now 45
And again starting anew
But to keep what I have
I’ll do whatever I must do

Hoping one day
At the end of my tunnel there’s light
I can’t give up if I want victory
In this never ending Fight!

Better late than never?

There's an old saying,
“Better late than never”,
Which could be true
If we had forever

But the fact is we’re here
For only a short while
With a list of things to do
That extends for miles

But on our list of priorities
Of things we must do
We must never be late
To say, “I Love You”

Cause when the time comes
For each of us to go
I don’t want to regret not saying it
When I had so much time to do so!

I may not say it
As often as I should
Nor do I express it
As well as I could

“Never” isn’t good
But neither is “late”
When it’s someone you love
That no one could replace!

What it takes to be a Father

To be a Father
Is not as easy as it seems
Some claim to hold the key
While others are lost in dreams

What being a Father means to some
Means something different to others
Some can handle the load
While others wind up being smothered

Some try real hard
While others respond like a log
Some do a great job
While others should’ve bought a dog

There is no right or wrong
No set rules for this or that
You have to learn while you teach
You have to be able to pitch and to bat

You have to know when to be strong
And when to back down
When to be gentle
And when it’s OK to clown

You have to know your English
Your Social Studies and Math
And be ready to answer
The millions of questions you’ll be asked

But I could go on forever
With a list that has no end
Because once you’re a father
You’re never the same again

Affection Junkie

Some people are addicted
to drugs or booze
they think it makes them win
when actually they lose

well my addiction
is simular in a way
I need LOVE
each and every day

when its a good love
I always seem to win
but when its bad
the losing never ends

I'm not sure
what other people would call it
I just consider myself
A LOVE-A-HOLIC!
