Too Many Funerals and Two Weddings

This has been a tough year for our little church and Senior Pastor. We have had 5 funerals (with memorial services) in the last 8 months. Three of them were just last weekend. These are older people as well as young people (the youngest was 21). I've done the sound and PowerPoint for 3 of them. No church I've ever been to had that many in such a short time. But hope is on the horizon.
Next February there are going to be two weddings. One is our Youth & Community pastor and his fiancé and the other are two leaders from my singles group in Burlington, Ontario. They are happening one weekend right after the other (thankfully, I'm only doing sound/PowerPoint for one – so far).
The Bible asks a question in Proverbs 22:29. “Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will serve before kings; he will not serve before obscure men.” Now I'm not appearing before kings, but being the techie go-to ninja in our church means my name is the first one that comes to someone's mind for special events and making things happen well.
So the hand-written question posed by our Youth & Community pastor and his fiancé in my invitation was, “Will you be our sound guy? We would be most honoured!”
I would too, Matt and Erika; I would too.
